👨🎨19 April 1588. Painter Paolo Veronese (see his self portait☝️📸) passed away in his house in San Samuele☝️📸, Venice and was buried in San Sebastiano Church☝️📸, surrounded by his paintings and frescoes which still today we can admire in there.
Paolo Caliari (born in 1528) became known as #Veronese in Venice because he came from #Verona where he learned his art from local painters.
#PaoloVeronese is perhaps one the most visited painters in the world! That is due to the fact that many of his paintings and frescoes decorate the walls and ceiling of one of the most visited places in the world: The Doge's Palace in #SanMarco Square!☝️📸
Veronese is considered a member of the "great trio" that dominated Venetian #Renaissance painting, the other 2 being 👉 Tiziano and 👉Tintoretto.
His works are held in the most important museums of the world, see in the Chat Room👇 some of his paintings you can admire here in Venice.
