📜👨🔬11 November 1788. Pietro Paleòcapa, an Italian scientist, engineer and later politician was born in Nese, Alzano Lombardo (BG), at the time under Venice domination. His family was of Greek origins and they decided to emigrate and live in Venice territory.
In 1840 #Paleocapa became a general manager in Venice, and oversaw the works on the rivers Brenta, Bacchiglione, Adige, Tartaro-Canalbianco-Po di Levante, the drainage of several marshy areas near #Verona and the construction of a dam in #Malamocco, Venice.
He was a patriot and believed in #Italy unification, and he played an important role in the negotiation for the 👉 annexation of Venice to the then Kingdom.
The first monument statue 📸☝️we all meet when entering Venice historical centre is dedicated to him: it was placed inside the Papadopoli Gardens, built and commissioned by the Papadopoli family in the XIX century, still today the first and largest green area🌳 we see in #SantaCroce district.

40 years ago Black Hole from #Verona, #Italy released their debut studio album.
#BlackHole were founded in 1981 as a Heavy Prog band with influences ranging from Black Sabbath to #RPI (Rock Progressivo Italiano).
After years of underground, the band finally recorded this album in Spring 1985 at Diamine Studio in Venice.
Land Of Mystery is Black Hole only album in the original formation, they disbanded in 1987.
Vocalist and leader #RobertMeasles released 2 more albums as Black Hole in 2000 and 2017.
In this album you can hear Black Sabbath, Iron Butterfly, Jacula, Goblin, Death SS, Paul Chain altogether.
Lesson learned, absolute gem🤘
