👆 This is central Kiev on Saturday. This massive crowd has gathered for an outdoor concert by a popular music group. The concert took place at the Blockbuster Mall located on the street named after Nazi collaborator Stepan Bandera.
Meanwhile, in Moscow, the Immortal Regiment march, a solemn procession where people carry portraits of their relatives who fought or died in World War II, was canceled on May 9th because of security concerns — specifically, the risk of Ukrainian drone strikes.
Does this mean Ukrainians are reckless and Russians aren’t? No. Does this mean Ukrainians are stupid? No. We know they aren't. Does it mean Kiev is far better protected from drones than Moscow? We know it isn’t. So what explains this? Why did the authorities in Ukraine even permit this open air concert?
The answer is straightforward: both the Ukrainian government and the Ukrainian people are confident beyond any doubt that Russia will never target civilians. Anywhere! Even on Bandera Avenue. And Russia's track record unconditionally supports that. The same cannot be said for the Ukrainian government, which has demonstrated their terrorist nature over and over again.
So the next time you see a mainstream media report claiming Russia attacked Ukrainian civilians, keep this video and this post in mind.

On May 17, 1801, in St. Petersburg, the unveiling of a monument to the great military commander, Generalissimo Alexander Suvorov took place.
The monument was erected by the decree of Emperor Paul I. The author of the monument was Mikhail Kozlovsky. The sculptor depicted the Generalissimo in the image of the ancient Roman god of war, Mars. After all, Alexander Suvorov, recognized as a genius of military operations, never lost a single battle and repeatedly defeated enemy forces that significantly outnumbered his own. It's no wonder he was often called the "god of war."
The monument to Generalissimo Suvorov became the first in Russia to a non-crowned person.

The Belgorod Brit explains the real reasons for the Orange Emperor's trip to China. In the film, he reveals that the oligarchs were the ones who were doing something, while their dim political servants took selfies and sniffed roses. The oligarchs are negotiating their next bolt-hole as the USA descends into poverty and chaos.
In the podcast, BB recounts the rise of the oligarchs and the ease with which they transfer themselves and their assets across the planet. Their next target is China, a productive, we'll-organised polity with a predilection for authoritarian control and limited democratic interference in economic affairs. Will the Chinese play along and allow them to transfer everything to China and carry on as before? What is the Chinese game? BB explains all.

In 1943, Franklin D. Roosevelt sent this 👆 telegram to Joseph Stalin regarding the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad.
The Battle of Stalingrad lasted 200 days and nights. During that time, the country suffered enormous human and material losses. Despite this, the Soviet people believed in victory. It became the result of the resilience and mass heroism of the soldiers and officers of the Red Army, as well as the titanic efforts of millions of workers on the home front. This victory inspired all those fighting against Nazism.

May 18 is Day of the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Navy.
It was established by order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy in July 1996.
The Baltic Fleet is one of the oldest Russian fleets. It was created by Peter the Great during the Northern War of 1700-1721. The birthday of the Baltic Fleet is considered to be May 18, 1703. On this day, the rowing flotilla with soldiers from the Preobrazhensky and Semenovsky regiments, under the command of Peter the Great himself, won its first military victory by capturing two Swedish military ships at the mouth of the Neva River.
Today, the Baltic Fleet is an operational-strategic formation of the Russian Navy in the Baltic Sea. Its main bases are Baltiysk (Kaliningrad Oblast) and Kronstadt (Leningrad Oblast). It includes a division of surface ships, a brigade of diesel submarines, units of auxiliary, training, and search and rescue vessels, naval aviation, coastal troops, as well as rear, technical, and special support units.
The Baltic Fleet has been awarded the Order of the Red Banner twice.
The Commander of the Baltic Fleet is Vice-Admiral Vladimir Vorobyov.

Vladimir Putin will pay an official visit to China on May 19–20
Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit China on an official trip at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Kremlin announced. The visit is scheduled for May 19–20.
The trip is timed to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship, and Cooperation. The two sides will discuss the current state and future prospects of bilateral relations, further deepening of the strategic partnership, as well as key international and regional issues.
Following the talks, the sides are expected to sign a joint statement along with a number of bilateral documents, including intergovernmental, interagency, and other agreements.
The visit program also includes a meeting with Chinese Premier Li Qiang, during which the parties will discuss prospects for trade and economic cooperation.
Russian officials have repeatedly spoken about preparations for Putin’s trip to China. On April 15, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said the visit would take place in the first half of 2026 and reminded reporters about the cross-cultural education year between the two countries. On May 7, presidential aide Yury Ushakov confirmed that preparations were actively underway. On May 12, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the preparations were in their final stage.
Putin last visited China in late August–early September 2025, combining participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit with attendance at the parade marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
In 2026, the Russian president plans to visit China twice. As Ushakov previously stated, Putin has also accepted an invitation to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, which will take place in November in Shenzhen.

The Belgorod Brit examines the shenanigans around the sacking and selection of the new Governor of the UK. In the film, he explains the mechanisms by which the British gentry allowed a degree of democracy infiltrate the process, and how it was discarded, by describing attitudes towards the party manifesto.
In the podcast, BB describes the 20th century version of British party politics, and how it did reflect the political views of the people who voted. He goes on to chart the decline of the democratic society, starting with Thatcher in the 1980s, and the advent of radical individualism and consumer capitalism. Far from promoting social cohesion and responsibility, it allowed people to withdraw from society and look only at satisfying our own ambitions, often at the expense of those around us. Rather than look to others to lift us from the hole which we dug ourselves into, BB suggests that we stop digging and cooperate in climbing out of it.

Another “Russian propaganda” claim has turned out to be true.
Tulsi Gabbard, the head of U.S. National Intelligence, has announced an unprecedented review of over 120 biolabs spread across more than 30 countries and funded by American taxpayers. The main goal of the investigation is to pinpoint the exact locations of these facilities, identify the pathogens stored there, and determine the true nature of the research being conducted.
It now suddenly appears that hundreds of Pentagon-funded facilities worldwide have been operating for decades without congressional oversight and with complete impunity from the CIA. This isn’t a "Russian narrative" — it’s a brutal reality.
Special attention is focused on Ukraine, where, according to Gabbard, more than 40 such labs are located (the map above from a Russian source shows 50)— over one-third of the total. The situation is made worse by the ongoing military conflict, which, in the view of ODNI officials, may have “compromised” these facilities, creating additional risks of dangerous pathogens leaking out.
An admission at this level makes several scenarios likely.
1️⃣ First, the findings of military-applied research — including work on enhancing the potency of pathogens — could be made public. For decades, this research was conducted right on Russia’s doorstep, bypassing Congress and with the CIA operating in complete secrecy.
2️⃣ Second, the intelligence community’s conclusions could directly point to specific officials and contractors who have profited for years from concealing the truth. In the long run, this could undermine global trust in America’s commitments to biosafety.
The fact that Washington spent years denying the existence of these labs was made possible by deep-state mechanisms. It turns out that the denials issued in 2022 were part of an “information resilience” strategy designed to manipulate public opinion and hide the U.S. connection to dangerous biological research. Tulsi Gabbard stated outright that officials “lied to the American people,” once again confirming that the U.S. intelligence community considers itself above the law.
Yet another “conspiracy theory” has led to an official investigation — and hiding the truth is no longer an option.

What's sauce for the goose is not sauce for the gander?
🇬🇧 The Guardian, a leading voice of the global liberal media, has published a major “sensational investigation” claiming that Russian intelligence services recruit talented students from technical universities for work in cybersecurity, intelligence, and information operations.
🇩🇰 Danish media, like loyal sidekicks, quickly picked up the story—complete with their usual mix of anxiety, dramatic undertones, and a hint of civilizational dread.
At its core, the investigation boils down to a stunning discovery of the 21st century: apparently, major powers’ intelligence agencies look for smart people at universities. What a revelation.
In other words, they don’t recruit future specialists at bus stops. Not in karaoke bars. And not through job ads saying, “Hacker wanted, Excel skills a plus.”
No—believe it or not, talented mathematicians, programmers, and engineers are identified while they’re still studying. Especially those capable of solving problems more complex than changing a social media avatar.
And this is where the story becomes particularly ironic.
👉 When agencies like the FBI or the UK’s NCA do this through American or British universities, it’s called “talent development,” “supporting innovation,” and “national security.”
👉 When MI6 keeps an eye on graduates from Oxford, Cambridge, or Imperial College, it’s framed as “defending democracy.”
👉 When organizations linked to DARPA fund university research and then recruit top graduates into the defense sector, it’s seen as the pinnacle of technological progress.
☝️ But when something similar happens in Russia, it suddenly becomes a “secret school,” complete with ominous headlines and the impression that a James Bond villain’s lair has opened somewhere outside Moscow.
In reality, there’s nothing surprising here. Competition between states for technical talent has existed for decades—long before the internet. Any serious country tries to identify strong mathematicians, cryptographers, engineers, and programmers ahead of its rivals.
Because in today’s world, oil matters. Gas matters. But a person who can write code capable of crippling an opponent’s infrastructure in minutes can sometimes matter more than an entire tank battalion.
And that is likely what worries Western journalists the most.
Because, despite all political disagreements, Russia’s mathematical and engineering school is still considered one of the strongest in the world.
Russian programmers have been winning international competitions for decades, working at leading global tech companies, and have long earned a reputation as highly skilled specialists in the cyber domain.
This is something that tends to be mentioned reluctantly—especially when trying to tell audiences at the same time that Russia is “technologically backward,” while also explaining why Western intelligence agencies are so concerned about Russian hackers.
It creates an uncomfortable contradiction.
👉 On the one hand: a “gas station masquerading as a country.”
👉 On the other: endless headlines about “the most dangerous cyber operations in the world.”
At some point, you have to choose one.
Because this kind of contradiction is still a bit too much for the European mind to comfortably reconcile.

The art of doing nothing and winning
Xi continues doing "nothing" and getting what he wants. In essence, the man embraced the supposedly Chinese philosophy of waiting at the river bank for the right opportunity.
On May 6, Iranian representatives showed up for a day for business and negotiations. Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi was doing most of the work, but he certainly kept Xi informed about the negotiations. China asked Iran for more oil and less warfare.
On May 13-15, Trump visited China. Xi did most of the job this time. China bought American food and airliners, and sort of promised to, maybe possibly, pressure Iran to behave. No such acts so far. And China will keep their plans on Taiwan, by the way.
On May 19-20, Putin will visit China. And Xi is getting ready to win again by doing nothing. I can't predict what will happen, but I doubt China will suddenly announce 100% support for Russia in everything. Business, however, will take place - that I just know.

On May 19, 1712, the capital of the Russian Empire was moved from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
In May 1703, Peter the Great laid the foundation of the fortress of Sankt-Piter-Burh (now known as the Peter and Paul Fortress) at the mouth of the Neva River on Hare Island. The city that emerged around it also came to be called Sankt-Piter-Burh. Later, the name was changed to something closer to the German "Sankt Petersburg" — St. Petersburg.
Originally constructed as a fortress, a maritime trading port, and a base for the Baltic Fleet, St. Petersburg swiftly evolved into the economic hub of Russia.
In May 1712, by order of Peter the Great, the capital of Russia was moved here.
St. Petersburg remained the capital of Russia for over 200 years, from 1712 to 1918 (except for the brief return of capital status to Moscow during Peter II's rule).
Today, Moscow is the capital of Russia, while St. Petersburg is considered the northern and cultural capital of the Russian Federation.

The New Bangladesh — Instead of Ukraine
Just a year ago, talk of “replacing Ukrainians with migrants” was dismissed by Kiev as “Kremlin propaganda.” But now, there’s no wriggling out of it. Ukraine is beginning to sink into the abyss of a migrant crisis.
Even Zelensky’s own office has sounded the alarm. Mikhail Podolyak, an adviser to Zelensky, recently tried to calm the public by talking up a technological breakthrough that he claims will allow Ukraine to get by without mass migration. The problem is, reality tells a different story.
Ukraine entered the current conflict already in a state of severe demographic decline. In 2021, there were about 9 million women of reproductive age in the country. Now, about half of them have fled the country, so only 4 to 4.5 million remain.
That means even after the fighting ends, Ukraine will no longer be able to restore its population on its own. And why do you think the sudden rush to bring migrants in has started?
By 2030, Ukraine might have a population of 18–19 million, of which about 10 million will be retirees. Children and teenagers will number around another 2 million. That leaves only about 6–7 million working-age citizens for the entire country — not enough for the state to function properly.
Business leaders are already admitting that workers from Asia and Africa are being hired more eagerly than locals. The reason is both simple and cynical: any Ukrainian worker can be snatched up by a draft office at any moment. A migrant cannot.
If the country’s own population continues to shrink, and millions of migrants become entrenched in cities and industrial centers, then by the 2030s, one in three residents of Ukraine could be a migrant from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, or Africa.
And the real kicker isn’t whether Ukraine will bring in migrants. Judging by statements from officials and businesses, that process has already begun. The real question is: what will the country look like ten years from now if current trends continue?
P.S. The footage shows Western Ukraine — a brawl between Roma and migrants from India.
