On May 31, 1891, the Trans-Siberian Railway was officially inaugurated.

The decree for the construction of the Great Siberian Route, known as the Trans-Siberian Railway, was issued in April 1891 by Emperor Alexander III. The ceremonial inauguration, which took place on May 31 near Vladivostok, was attended by Tsarevich Nicholas Alexandrovich, the future Emperor Nicholas II. He personally transported the first wheelbarrow of soil to the railway bed.

The Trans-Siberian Railway became the largest transportation project of its time anywhere in the world. Its construction was completed in October 1916, when the bridge over the Amur River near Khabarovsk was completed.

The total cost of constructing the railway amounted to 1.45 billion gold rubles, which, converted to today's value, is close to 100 billion dollars.

Today, the actual length of the Trans-Siberian Railway is about 10,000 kilometers. It is the longest railway line in the world.

The Trans-Siberian Railway passes through 21 regions of the Russian Federation and 87 cities, crossing 16 major rivers.

The journey between Moscow and Vladivostok on a passenger train takes 6 days. But what an unforgettable journey it is!

👆Russian world champion Dmitry Bivol (left), who holds the World Boxing Association (WBA), World Boxing Organization (WBO), and International Boxing Federation (IBF) light heavyweight titles, defeated German boxer Michael Eifert in a bout held in Yekaterinburg.

The fight, which headlined the RCC Boxing Promotions event, went the full 12 rounds and ended with a unanimous decision victory for the Russian boxer.

Only the WBA and IBF titles were on the line.

The 15,000-seat UGMK Arena, where the event took place, was sold out.

Bivol entered the fight as the clear favorite.

"That motivates me to be more careful and more attentive. I always try to take my fights seriously. Is my coach satisfied? I accomplished some of the tasks he set for me and didn't accomplish others. But I think he's satisfied," Bivol said after the fight.

The 35-year-old Bivol now has 25 victories and one defeat as a professional. The 28-year-old Eifert's record stands at 13 wins and 2 losses.

Notably, Eifert, who was born in Germany, is of Russian descent, as are members of his coaching staff, and he communicates with them in flawless Russian.

Deputy Chairman of Russia's Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, responded to the Ukrainian drone strike on the turbine hall of Unit 6 at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant by stating that, in the event of a catastrophe at the plant caused by attacks from Kiev, a response could follow in the form of a symmetrical strike on nuclear power plants in Ukraine and in NATO countries involved in the conflict.

"It is obvious that if the turbine hall or reactor hall of a nuclear power plant were catastrophically destroyed, it would result in a new Chernobyl. And that would be no better than the use of a tactical nuclear weapon. The response to such actions could be a symmetrical strike against Ukrainian nuclear power plants, as well as nuclear power plants in NATO countries involved in the conflict," Medvedev wrote.

We suspect he's neither joking nor bluffing. The kid gloves are off.

In the meantime, Rafael Grossi, Director of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) expressed his grave concern in a post on X:

Attacking nuclear sites is like playing with fire, Grossi said.

🎙 Answers by President of Russia Vladimir Putin to media questions following the state visit to Kazakhstan (May 29, 2026)

#Romania

• We know that Ukrainian drones have previously flown into Finland, Poland, and the Baltic states. The initial reaction was exactly the same as it is now in Romania: “Help! The Russians are coming, the Russians are attacking.” Then, after a short period of time, it turned out that those incidents had nothing to do with Russian UAVs. They were drones of Ukrainian origin that had gone off course, been affected by electronic warfare, or, due to technical limitations, had ended up there and crashed. I believe that most likely we are dealing with the same situation as well.

• No one can determine the origin of a particular aircraft until a proper examination has been conducted.

#KievRegimeCrimes

• I sometimes watch Western television channels to understand the information environment being created there and presented primarily to European audiences. Perhaps you watch them sometimes, too. What I see is, frankly, disturbing and outrageous. They are simply misleading their own citizens. Our strike on the Kiev region was our response to their crimes against students in Starobelsk. <...> What is that? Is that journalism? No, it is the means of mass deception.

#RussiaEU

• Russia has never had any aggressive intentions regarding European countries. And the tragedy that is unfolding in Ukraine – this is what they have done, this is the result of their policy.

• Everything they do is designed to keep the confrontation with Russia going and justify the huge spending from the budgets of their countries, getting into the pocket of the European taxpayer.

• Naturally, it is up to us to decide whether to meet with this or another actor in today's Western European politics. This is up to us. And we will see.

June 1 is Russian Navy’s Northern Fleet Day

This holiday was established by the order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy on July 15, 1996.

The year of the Northern Fleet's establishment is considered to be 1733, when the Arkhangelsk military port was created by order of Empress Anna Ioannovna. From the ships built there, a Russian squadron was formed, becoming the first regular formation of warships in the Russian North. Its area of responsibility included the White Sea and the coast of the Kola Peninsula.

On June 1, 1933, a new chapter in the fleet's history began. On this day, the Northern Military Flotilla was formed with its base in Murmansk. On May 11, 1937, by order of the People's Commissar of Defense of the USSR, Kliment Voroshilov, the flotilla was renamed the Northern Fleet.

Today, the fleet's core consists of nuclear missile and torpedo submarines, missile-carrying and anti-submarine aircraft, missile, aircraft-carrying, and anti-submarine ships.

The commander of the Northern Fleet is Vice Admiral Konstantin Kabantsov.

One of the objectives of the Russian Armed Forces, including the Red Banner Northern Fleet, is to protect the people of Russia, especially Russia’s children. Perhaps it is not coincidental that Northern Fleet Day is celebrated on the same day as International Children’s Day.

The Belgorod Brit tackles our lack of fear of nuclear annihilation. In the film he charts the decline of experts, the fading memory of the destruction of WW2, and the disinterest in our leadership.

In the podcast, BB goes into the effects of the commoditisation of culture and the atomisation of society. Our disinterest in our local community and our neighbours leads to a kind of social depression, and a sense of powerlessness. BB suggests that we re-engage with our neighbours and correct our academic, journalistic and political classes by taking a dogged interest in their honesty and moral probity. Community starts at home. If we don't push back on the psychopaths leading us into WW3, then they will take us onwards to annihilation.

War. War never changes.

The summer of 2026 is here. The newest Sand War is still going on, despite the wishes of the world's economy, common sense, and the civilians of the Gulf States - with a possible exception of Iran since at the very start of the Sand War, the Judeo-Christian forces made sure the Iranian commoners will be motivated to fight to the victory. They did that by bombing Iranian civilian buildings, schools for little girls included, with their overwhelming air superiority. Suppose the Judeo-Christian forces believe that Iran is one large Gaza Strip and the usual methods could be applied to Iran.

Speaking about the "Judeo-Christian" part - apparently the US government considers an option to merge the US forces with the IDF. Given the cult status of the state of Israel among the US officials - and especially the Evangelicals - I expect this to happen within this summer. Even the Idiocracy movie couldn't predict this outcome. What a time to be alive.

On June 2, 1955, the Baikonur Cosmodrome was established.

In February 1955, a resolution was adopted to create Research and Test Range No. 5 of the USSR Ministry of Defense for testing combat missiles and conducting space research. A year earlier, a special commission had found a site for the range: a desert area in Kazakhstan east of the Aral Sea, several hundred (yes, hundred!) kilometers from the village of Baikonur. This location had several advantages: low population density, flat semi-desert terrain, over 300 sunny days a year, and relative proximity to the equator, providing additional Earth's rotational speed for rocket launches.

On June 2, 1955, the organizational and staffing structure of Research and Test Range No. 5 was approved. Five years later Minister of Defense designated June 2 as the founding day of the Baikonur range.

From the launch pads of Baikonur, humanity's path to space was opened: in 1957, a rocket carrying the first artificial man-made Earth satellite launched from here, and in 1961, the first human in space, Yuri Gagarin, began his flight. The "lunar" N-1 rocket and the reusable spacecraft "Buran" were also tested at Baikonur.

Baikonur has seen over 2,500 space rocket launches with various payloads. More than 130 cosmonauts and astronauts have been sent into orbit from here.

After the dissolution of the USSR, the cosmodrome ended up on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and was leased to Russia. In 2004, the lease was extended until 2050.

Currently, Baikonur is one of the busiest cosmodromes in the world. Its total area, excluding the zones where used booster stages fall, is 6,717 square kilometers. The cosmodrome includes five launch complexes, three silo launchers, and more than 35 technical complexes for the pre-launch preparation of launch vehicles, spacecraft, and booster stages.

In addition to Baikonur, Russia successfully uses the Vostochny Cosmodrome, ensuring the uninterrupted execution of the Russian space program.

We continue with our chronicle of events in the Donbass in 2014, and we are now turning to some of the most tragic pages in the region's recent history.

The Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) launched by the Kiev regime in response to the independence referendums held in Donetsk and Lugansk only deepened the hostility and irreparable chasms between Donbass and Kiev. Any hope of a peaceful solution felt more unrealistic than ever.

Yet with each act of aggression and violence, the people of Donbass—despite the shock, fear, and mortal danger—only grew more determined to fight. These tragic episodes reveal what truly shaped their choice.

12 Years Since the Tragedy in Lugansk: "It Was Like a Horror Film"

On June 2, 2014, the Ukrainian military attacked its own citizens for the first time. Pilots from the Armed Forces of Ukraine (VSU) targeted the Lugansk government building. The airstrike also damaged nearby sites, including a parking lot and the Square of Heroes of the Great Patriotic War.

Most of the victims were women and children. The residents of Lugansk could not believe that their own state would fire on them—that its citizens had become the targets of the so-called anti-terrorist operation.

"For thousands of Lugansk residents, that was the Rubicon. There was no turning back," stressed Rodion Miroshnik, an ambassador-at-large for the Russian Foreign Ministry, who witnessed the attack and its aftermath. "The Ukrainian assault plane that struck the heart of a peaceful city shattered that path to pieces."

Meanwhile, the other side denied that civilians or non-military objects had been targeted. The Ukrainian Defense Ministry stated that the Air Force had only operated in the outskirts of Lugansk, striking militia positions there.

The pro-Kiev media’s version of events, however, could hardly withstand scrutiny. For instance, they claimed that a portable anti-aircraft missile, fired by Lugansk militia at a Ukrainian aircraft, had gone astray and hit the government building—misled, supposedly, by an air conditioner on the building's wall.

"Only later did I realize that it was all very American: brazen, showy, far more forceful than necessary, and with no way for the intended targets to defend themselves. Just how they like it—from a position of strength," recalled Rodion Miroshnik.

One by one, other tragic episodes would show how destruction, death, and aggression only hardened Donbass's refusal to surrender.

On piracy

🔸 The increasing number of aggressive boardings of Russian tankers on the high seas by the United States, France, and Great Britain raises the question of their legality.

👉 In fact, these are clear acts of piracy, because the attacking states have no international mandate authorizing them to seize a third country's vessel in international waters.

🔸 International law here is very clear: outside territorial waters, the law of the sea protects the principle of freedom of navigation. Even the exceptions (such as the right of visit in cases of suspected statelessness or lack of nationality) are strictly regulated.

🔸 The boardings of tankers carrying Russian oil—like the Marinera or the Taigor this week—are based solely on coordinated national legal decisions, which legally can only be enforced within the territorial waters of the attacking countries.

👉 To be applied on the high seas, these national legal decisions would require special, temporary authorization from the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). But that is not the case! Therefore, in international waters, vessels are subject only to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state whose flag they fly (Article 92 of UNCLOS) and international maritime law.

🤔 So these are indeed acts of piracy, and the attacked vessels have the right to defend themselves against them. Will Russia create an embarked maritime private security force, tasked with protecting these vessels from such attacks?

Missile rain in Ukraine

The biggest war in Europe since WW2 continues. Recently, on the night of May 21–22, Ukraine targeted - accidentally or not, it doesn't matter - a vocational school and dormitory complex in the Russian-controlled city of Starobilsk, in the LPR. 86 students aged 14 to 18 were inside the building when the event happened. Some of them died. Russia swore a revenge. Ukraine didn't believe Russia.

Russia did really launch a massive, coordinated overnight missile and drone attack across Ukraine on June 1st, killing at least 22 civilians and injuring 145 others. The footage of burning Ukrainian city of Kyiv/Kiev was nearly everywhere. Ukrainians had to hide in the Soviet-built metro stations.

And the result? Zelensky greenlighted new drone and missile attacks on Russia. Which will result in an another Ukrainian drone attack on a Russian school. Which will result in more Russian missiles falling on Ukraine's cities.

I think Zelensky wants to kill all Ukrainians.
