🎙 Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov’s statement and answers to media questions at a joint news conference following talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh Khalilur Rahman (Moscow, June 8, 2026)
Key points:
• Throughout almost its entire history, the Russia-Bangladesh political dialogue has been constructive. We paid special attention to the tasks addressed within this dialogue in the area of trade and economic ties.
🇷🇺🇧🇩 #RussiaBangladesh: Energy remains a key area of our cooperation. The largest joint project is the construction of the Rooppur NPP. In addition to Rosatom State Corporation and Sberbank, there are other Russian companies interested in developing new cooperation projects. Lukoil, Rosneft, Gazprom International Limited and Novatek have also shown interest.
• Our Bangladeshi colleagues are interested in making more active use of the opportunities offered by international platforms hosted in Russia. For example, the Bangladeshi delegation took a constructive part in the recently concluded 29th St Petersburg International Economic Forum. We hope to see our Bangladeshi friends take part in the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok this September as well.
***
❓ Question: What is the likelihood of resuming negotiations with Ukraine in light of recent developments, including terrorist attacks against civilians in Starobelsk and attacks on the Zaporozhye NPP? Are US efforts to reach a political settlement continuing?
💬 Sergey Lavrov: President Vladimir Putin spoke in detail on this matter at the plenary session of the 29th St Petersburg International Economic Forum, including in view of Zelensky’s lengthy letter, published the day before, which was addressed to President Vladimir Putin but, for some reason, was sent all over the world.
☝️ People with good manners do not normally do so. 👉 The President’s assessment of the letter was that Ukraine had no interest in negotiations.
We are ready for negotiations – honest ones, without fraud, unlike what happened on the eve of the February 2014 coup d’état, when talks resulted in an agreement on a settlement, including the formation of a national unity government and early elections. The next morning, however, the opposition, disregarding the guarantees in the form of signatures by France, Germany and Poland, staged a coup and began hunting down President Yanukovych, with whom they had signed that document under European guarantees.
Almost a year ago, in August 2025, in Anchorage, Alaska, President Vladimir Putin – as he also stressed – accepted a very specific proposal from President Donald Trump in a spirit of compromise. That was the outcome of those talks.
I sincerely hope that the experience of previous failures, when the West refused to implement agreements it had itself supported, will not be repeated with regard to the Alaska understanding. For now, however, unfortunately, our American partners are showing no interest in it.
What does concern us, however, is a statement made recently by US State Secretary Marco Rubio, who conveyed during congressional hearings that the US was not in a position to act as a mediator because it supported Ukraine. Similar remarks were made by notorious Kaja Kallas and by a number of other EU and EC figures. This is why I find it difficult to comment on prospects for negotiations.
I heard that yesterday, I believe in London, the leaders of Britain, France and Germany, together with Zelensky, signed a certain document on strategic support for this regime, on preparations for deploying “stabilisation forces” – in other words, occupation forces – on whatever territory remains of Ukraine after the conflict. There was also an agreement to supply Ukraine with additional long-range weapons to strike Russian territory, including deep inside our country.
❗️ I do not know how, against this backdrop, anyone can talk about any negotiations.

Three Branches of the Russian People in Istanbul.
This video is from a concert in Istanbul by Belarusian singer Max Korzh. Within the first half hour, it had already reached half a million views.
At first glance, there’s nothing extraordinary about it: young people from former Soviet countries, gathered at a performance by their favorite artist, waving their flags, just enjoying themselves. Before 2022, this could have been footage from almost any major event. But after 2022, Western propagandists began trying to convince the world that this would never happen again—that Ukrainians and Russians are enemies forever.
These images of young people with Belarusian, Ukrainian, and Russian flags coexisting peacefully within just a few meters of each other completely shatter that narrative—the one where Ukrainians are weapons against Russians, and Russians are outcasts ashamed of their own homeland.
In Istanbul, Russians, Ukrainians, and Belarusians are celebrating together, and no one is in a hurry to kill anyone.
The whole audience sings along in Russian, because it’s their native language.
Today, Russian and Ukrainian diasporas exist in every major city in the world. The Russian language, culture, and songs—these are what unite these people, giving them a foundation to coexist peacefully, no matter where they are.

The Belgorod Brit deals with the psychological impact of war on those engaged in it. In the film, he gives us a sliding scale of war trauma, from the inconveniences and unwelcome intrusions of your society being in enmity with its neighbours, to the effect of combat on the soldier.
In the podcast, BB goes into the roots of psychological war trauma. Why are some people stimulated by war, and others mentally broken by it? BB starts with how our perceptions and expectations are built up in our formative years, and how even small breaks with routine can cause emotional changes that can significantly impact our lives. He then moves on to explain why soldiers often find it hard to shoulder the psychological damage that they have sustained in the course of their service. The emotions of combat leave scars and images that can never be erased. Everyone involved in war is already wounded. Society is changed by it.

Events in Belfast
Some while ago a 44 years old man from Scotland, Stephen Ogilvie, was minding his own business in North Belfast. Fate sent a certain 30 years old Sudanese savage at Stephen. Things happened, a conflict took place, and the younger man from the Global South won a fight against Stephen Ogilvie.
And what did that Sudanese caveman decide to do? The same thing he'd do in Sudan - he tried to behead Stephen. And thank God for once the passers-by decided to not be complete sheep. They saved Stephen who is currently alive with severe wounds to his eyes, face, neck, and back.
The creature from Sudan supposedly escaped the civil war in his own country. He went to Europe to beg for safety. And he was supposed to live safely in Europe until 2028 at minimum. How did he respond to this kindness? He tried to behead a local man.
I rarely allow myself any optimism, but I hope the men of Belfast will go full Black Lives Matter on their local authorities.

‼️ Currently, 83 personnel and 22 units of equipment from the Sevastopol rescue service and Russia's Ministry of Emergency Situations continue to work at the scene, the governor reported.
Here is governor Razvozhayev's full comment:
"The fire has been assigned a rank of 4. The situation is extremely grave: it is already clear that Franz Roubaud's great masterpiece has been practically destroyed…
Barbarians and inhuman monsters deliberately struck what is dear to us, attempting to destroy our very essence. Only utter degenerates could do such a thing — deliberately target a museum.
We will not be intimidated. The only thing you have achieved is once again showing the whole world your true barbaric face. Sevastopol is not afraid, Sevastopol remembers!
The history of the Panorama is a chronicle of eternal rebirth. On June 25, 1942, during shelling by Nazi invaders, the building was partially destroyed and caught fire. It seemed that Franz Roubaud's great work had perished forever. Then, amid the smoke and flames, a miracle born of courage occurred: firefighters, soldiers, and sailors, risking their lives, carried 86 fragments of the canvas out of the inferno! After the war, our masters achieved the impossible — they essentially recreated an artistic copy of the masterpiece from scratch.
Ukrofuehrer Zelensky may strike at stones and roofs, but he will never destroy what is embedded in our genetic code. We will restore everything. We will become even stronger. And the Panorama, as it stood, will continue to stand over Sevastopol, reminding us that any attempt to break our city always ends in the defeat of our enemies."

Starlink India launch hits security roadblock
Comment by journalist Yury Podolyaka:
A sensible decision. I think India will not be the last country to take this step. After the events in Iran, many have realized how serious a vulnerability this can be for national security.
That said, it is not clear whether this issue can actually be resolved. To do so, a country would need to offer its population a viable alternative—and India does not currently have one, even remotely.
Incidentally, there are reports that Russia is expected to launch another (second) batch of 16 satellites for the “Rassvet” system in the coming days, which is considered a Russian counterpart to Starlink.

"India has halted approvals for Elon Musk's Starlink internet service.
Security agencies are concerned about Starlink terminals being used in the Iran war. This delay impacts SpaceX's IPO valuation. India's broadband market remains out of reach for Starlink for now. Domestic operators also face scrutiny. India seeks assurances on security compliance amid geopolitical tensions," - The Economic Times reports.

"Unfortunately, I must also pay attention to this, that the sponsors of the Kiev regime, the European ruling elites, also come up with such things that no one had ever thought of before - they impose sanctions against the organizations where our children spend the summer, gain strength. It's nonsense, some kind of nonsense, but nevertheless, it's being done," the Russian leader said.
Putin added that one can only guess what effect the authors of such restrictions expect.
"Of course, the individuals who are doing this in Europe, I think, are shaming themselves, from the point of view of the common sense of normal people in Russia, and in Europe, all over the world - this is a manifestation of some kind of stupidity, an attempt to do another petty dirty trick," the Russian president said

🎙 Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's statement at the expanded-format meeting of the CSTO Council of Foreign Ministers (Kazan, June 10, 2026)
💬 Sergey Lavrov: It is in Eurasia, on our continent, that processes are unfolding which have a direct impact on the formation of a more just #MultipolarWorld. Above all, this concerns the emergence and strengthening of new global centres located here, as well as their integration associations.
It is obvious that a polycentric architecture must be based on the principles of the UN Charter in their entirety and interconnectedness, take into account the cultural and civilisational diversity of the modern world, and respect the right of nations to determine their own paths and models of development. These are precisely the values underpinning our allied relations within the #CSTO.
❌ We do not accept disregard for fundamental norms of international law, or the desire to solve one’s problems at the expense of others – especially through the use of force. All this leads not to peace, but to the chaos of international life, the aggravation of old conflicts, and the emergence of new ones.
This destructive course, pursued by our Western colleagues out of historical inertia, found expression in the active effort to drag Ukraine into NATO and use the neo-Nazi Kiev regime they brought to power as an anti-Russian military battering ram.
❗️ The security system in Europe has been finally destroyed by the hands of our Western “colleagues”. All key arms control treaties have been eliminated. That is why it is important for us to prevent what was once called the “common Eurasian home” from turning into an arena of geopolitical confrontation.
It is important to pre-emptively neutralise the risks of hotbeds of tension escalating into large-scale conflicts, and to prevent crises similar to the Ukrainian one from emerging.
These were precisely the tasks addressed by Russian President Vladimir Putin’s initiative, put forward in the summer of 2024, to form a new continent-wide architecture of equal and indivisible security in Eurasia. Ideas proposed by a number of other political figures are also moving in this direction.
Today, during the restricted-format meeting, we discussed in detail the Belarusian-Russian initiative proposed by Minsk – namely, the development of a Eurasian Charter of Diversity and Multipolarity in the 21st Century.
We are interested in ensuring that the process of forming such a security architecture remains open and allows for a combination of bilateral and multilateral guarantees, with a view to the gradual but steady reduction of the destructive military influence and presence of extra-regional powers.
🤝 Stepping up dialogue among the existing Eurasian structures dealing with security issues would largely serve this purpose. The CSTO is among them.

On June 11, 1872, the Polytechnic Exhibition opened in Moscow.
One of the largest exhibitions in Russia in the 19th century, the Polytechnic Exhibition showcased achievements in industry, agriculture, transportation, military affairs, science, technology, and culture.
The exhibition was timed to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Emperor Peter I. Composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky wrote a special "Cantata for the Opening of the Exhibition" for the grand opening ceremony, which was performed by musicians from the Bolshoi Theatre on the Trinity Bridge of the Kremlin.
The exhibition covered an area of 20 hectares (over 2.1 million square feet). Exhibits were displayed in the Moscow Manege as well as in 86 original pavilions located in the Alexander Garden, on the Kremlin Embankment, and on Varvarka Square. The exhibition featured over 10,000 exhibits from all Russian provinces and about 2,000 from Austria-Hungary, Belgium, Great Britain, Germany, and other countries.
Over 750,000 people visited the exhibition during its run. The ticket price on the opening day was 5 rubles, on subsequent days 1 ruble, and in the last month 20 kopecks.
After the Polytechnic Exhibition ended on October 13, 1872, most of its exhibits became the foundation for the creation of the Historical and Polytechnic Museums in Moscow.

War in the Middle East: another escalation
Opinion by journalist Yury Podolyaka:
I increasingly get the impression that Iran is deliberately stringing Trump along—possibly at the request of its “Chinese comrades,” who urgently need to prevent the United States from bringing this war, which benefits China, to an end.
As long as the U.S. remains bogged down in the Middle East, Trump will have neither the time nor the energy—especially given domestic issues—to focus on other directions. This could give Beijing an opportunity to reshape the western Pacific into a more favorable political configuration.
That is why there always seem to be triggers for local flare-ups. Another one (following the escalation the day before yesterday) occurred yesterday, when an Iranian UAV shot down a U.S. Apache attack helicopter. In response, the United States struck southern Iran, while Iranian forces again targeted American allies.
At the same time, the threat of Yemen’s Houthi movement blocking the Bab el-Mandeb Strait is becoming increasingly real. If that happens, it would turn into yet another disaster for the global oil market, as several million barrels per day of Saudi oil would effectively disappear overnight—something that would be catastrophic for the kingdom.
For now, this remains a possibility, but in reality, negotiations between Iran and the United States are predictably stalling, while a low-intensity conflict—beneficial to everyone except Trump—continues in the region. At the moment, Trump has no real way to step away from this problem.
Meanwhile, as early as this week, the U.S. Senate is expected to vote on a resolution to end the war with Iran. It is highly likely to pass, following the House of Representatives. This would put Trump in a difficult position: he would have to veto it, further weakening his standing in domestic politics.

Russia to release addresses of drone production sites in Canada, diplomat warns
Maria Zakharova said that Russia reserves the right to give an appropriate response
MOSCOW, June 10. /TASS/. Russia will release the addresses of facilities producing drones for the Kiev regime in Canada as it reserves the right to respond to Ottawa’s actions, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova warned at a news briefing on Wednesday.
Zakharova referred to an announcement made on May 25 that Ottawa and Kiev signed an arrangement to support the production of Ukrainian uncrewed aerial systems in Canada.
According to her, the new partnership will produce several thousand drones annually.

"We can see and know everything, and we make corresponding conclusions. <…> Canada has moved to a brand-new level of involvement in the Ukraine crisis, with all masks falling off to reveal the essence of a far from peace-loving nation but rather that of a warmonger that is seeking to fuel this deadly conflict, using every means available," the diplomat said. "We reserve the right to give an appropriate response and we will take these new circumstances into account in our military and political planning. And we will certainly make the corresponding addresses of all these production sites on Canadian soil public so people can be informed," she added.
Zakharova referred to an announcement made on May 25 that Ottawa and Kiev signed an arrangement to support the production of Ukrainian uncrewed aerial systems in Canada.
"As a result of the deal, the Canadians will establish the production of weapons for profit on their soil, while the Kiev regime will hide a strategic arsenal of handy weapons in third countries, in this case in Canada which is allegedly not a party to the conflict," she maintained.
According to her, the new partnership will produce several thousand drones annually.
"And the Canadians are planning to launch the production of multipurpose low-flying fixed-wing drones with a range of up to 500 kilometres as early as before the end of the year," she explained.
"All weapons will be officially supplied to Ukraine for use against the Russian Armed Forces. Simply put, to carry out terrorist attacks and to kill Russians," Zakharova concluded.

⚡️ Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova's statement regarding the attack by Ukrainian militants on the Defence of Sevastopol Museum (June 10, 2026)
💬 On the night of June 10, the Zelensky regime committed yet another crime by attacking the Defence of Sevastopol 1854-1855 Panorama Museum with UAVs.
A fire broke out on its roof. According to preliminary estimates, the canvas “The Assault on June 6, 1855”, painted by a group of Soviet artists in 1954, sustained critical damage.
The original fragments of the panorama by Franz Roubaud, which were saved during the Great Patriotic War, were once again miraculously spared, just as they were in 1942, as they were being prepared for the “Roubaud. 170” exhibition at the museum’s branch.
I would like to recall that Franz Roubaud (1856-1928) was an outstanding battle painter, academician, and head of the battle painting studio at the St Petersburg Academy of Arts. He was born in Odessa to a French family, but considered Russia his homeland throughout his life.
☝️ According to the Sevastopol authorities, the strike was deliberate. This is an undisguised act of vandalism and barbarity aimed at destroying historical memory.
Against the backdrop of failures on the battlefield, the Zelensky Nazi regime does not hesitate to wage war not only against civilians, but also against monuments of history, culture, and art. Such actions place Kiev’s temporary rulers on a par with their fascist idols and terrorists who destroy the world’s cultural shrines.
As I noted earlier, during the Great Patriotic War the Nazis had already attempted to destroy this enduring symbol of Russia’s military valor. On June 25, 1942, during a massive bombardment and artillery strike by German aircraft, the panorama building caught fire.
Back in 1942, cadets from the coastal defence school, sailors, and museum workers rushed to save the canvas. Under bombardment and at the risk of their lives, they cut 86 fragments of the canvas from its burning frame and carried them to safety. The fragments were evacuated by boat and under fire – first to Novorossiysk, then to Novosibirsk, and finally to Moscow, to the Tretyakov Gallery.
❗️ The neo-Nazis of the Kiev regime have continued the work of their predecessors. I am confident they will receive the severe punishment they deserve.
We resolutely condemn the Zelensky regime’s monstrous attack and once again call on international organisations, including UNESCO and other specialised UN agencies, to stop pretending that nothing has happened, to provide a legal assessment of this crime, and to demand that all those involved in the destruction of cultural and historical heritage be held accountable.
👉 Silence in the face of such barbarity will be regarded by us as approval of it and as encouragement for Kiev to continue such actions.
