The EU has frozen 6.3 billion euros, which were to go to Hungary. According to Politico, the reason was that the money was allegedly misused in the country and could contribute to the development of corruption in the country.
Initially it was planned that the EU would freeze €7.5 billion, but Hungary responded by blocking an EU aid package for Ukraine in the amount of €18 billion. Seemingly out of blue, Donald Trump decided to invest significant efforts to promote Victor Orban - after all his efforts to undermine the general EU position on the Russo-Ukrainian war, which can be boiled down to "let's be reasonable -Ukraine is losing, and they can't drag us all down with them". The EU - and especially Ukraine - really don't like Viktor Orban for this position.
Some time later - very recently in fact - Donald Trump sent his Vice President, J.D. Vance, to Hungary. His mission was to express further strong public support for Victor Orban. JD Vance promised investments and economic support, but Hungarians didn't buy those promises. Victor Orban lost.
Was that the Donald Trump's plan all along? If yes - his plan, for once, worked flawlessly. Now - who will replace Victor Orban? And will the Hungarians fare better in the future? Time will show.

Drunk Hungarian man took a Cessna for a joyride.
Early on the morning of Saturday, August 29, a 24-year-old man, while being highly intoxicated and out of his mind, hijacked a Cessna 172 from Kalocsa Airport in Hungary and flew into strictly prohibited airspace over the Paks Nuclear Power Plant, prompting an emergency scramble by Hungarian Air Force fighter jets. He wasn't shot down by the military jets only because the militaries around the globe have protocols about drunk pilots that sometimes fly where they shouldn't.
The incident resulted in the plane making an emergency landing in a nearby sunflower field, and the suspect was arrested after he tried to GTA steal someone's car during his wacky escape.
He will likely spend decades behind bars. If this happened in Ukraine or Russia - his suspiciously drone-shaped plane would be destroyed, together with him.
