Uzbekistan has made a historic leap in the Gender Equality and Governance Index, rising 51 positions, from 103rd to 52nd place!

This success shows real progress in women’s education, economic empowerment, and the growth of innovative IT initiatives.

We’re committed to increasing women’s participation in the IT sector. Our educational programs aim to ensure that every woman can thrive, benefiting from the accessible public services created by the state.

Uzbekistan is a country full of talented youth, and our ambitious, creative girls are at the forefront. Empowering young women in tech is a source of national pride.

By breaking down barriers, we’re opening doors for women to lead in technology. With talent, creativity, and determination, there are no limits to what can be achieved!

This achievement reflects the power of teamwork. Thanks to international organizations, private companies, and local initiatives, Uzbekistan is building an inclusive IT ecosystem driven by diversity.

Supporting women in tech is an investment in the future—one that benefits everyone.

While progress has been made, we know there’s more to do. Women remain underrepresented, especially in rural areas. We’re working to boost computer literacy and provide technology access for rural women.

Our Vision: Every woman should have the opportunity to reach her potential, be well-educated, and equipped to earn a living—maybe even lead the next tech unicorns!

By 2030, under the Digital Uzbekistan Strategy, we aim for 300,000 IT specialists, with women making up at least half of them.

Together, we can build an inclusive, innovative future, where every girl and woman can shape the digital world.

Join us in this mission! We welcome international organizations, private companies, and individuals to collaborate in empowering girls in STEM and STEAM fields.

Let’s continue working to ensure equality and diversity in every corner of Uzbekistan!

🌍 For the first time in Central Asia: Web Summit Spotlight comes to Tashkent!

On September 27, 2025, Uzbekistan will host a historic event — Web Summit Spotlight — one of the world’s most influential technology gatherings, arriving in our region for the very first time.

Organized by IT Park Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Digital Technologies, in partnership with Web Summit, this marks a new chapter for Central Asia on the global innovation map.

Every year, Web Summit in Lisbon brings together over 70,000 founders, global CEOs, investors, and researchers shaping the future of technology. Now, Tashkent joins the Web Summit ecosystem alongside Lisbon, Rio, Vancouver, Hong Kong, and Doha — opening the door to direct access to global networking, capital, and knowledge.

Spotlight: Uzbekistan will be a bridge between our fast-growing local tech ecosystem and international markets. On stage, global experts, venture funds, and entrepreneurs will discuss the future of innovation and launch new partnerships.

Among the speakers: leaders from Plug and Play Tech Center, StartupBlink, GB Ventures, Golden Gate Ventures, Google for Startups, EndeavorXR, and many others.

In 2025, Uzbekistan reached a historic milestone — entering the Top 100 of the Global Startup Ecosystem Index by StartupBlink for the first time. Our country demonstrated record growth, becoming the fastest-growing startup hub in Central Asia and one of the global frontrunners. This achievement is further confirmed by Startup Genome, which also recognizes Uzbekistan as the fastest-growing startup ecosystem in the region.

🚀Hosting Web Summit Spotlight in Tashkent will catalyze new investments, joint ventures, and global opportunities for our startups. After the keynotes and panels, founders will also gain access to the Investor’s Room — a unique chance to meet venture funds 1:1, pitch their projects, and explore new opportunities for growth.

Uzbekistan is rapidly emerging as a global startup hub.

Today, the country is home to 750+ startups, with more than 147 already attracting local and international investments. Uzbekistan has entered the Top 100 global startup ecosystems and is now the fastest-growing hub in Central Asia.

Thanks to the strong support of our President, the national startup ecosystem has received a powerful boost,  accelerating growth, investment, and innovation across the country. One of the key initiatives is the President Tech Award, which engaged over 13,000 participants and 1,800 projects, resulting in the creation of 200+ jobs and $2.4M in investments.

With 15 venture funds managing $180M and an ecosystem valued at $3.9B, the momentum is clear.

Our goal: reach $1B in venture investments by 2030.

Looking for a vibrant startup ecosystem with young and growing talent? Uzbekistan is the place to look for!

The digital transformation of Uzbekistan is no longer a future goal - it is our current reality. Guided by the strategic vision of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, we have successfully pivoted from a traditional economic model to becoming a vibrant global digital hub.

Our progress is now measurable on the world stage. According to the Global Startup Ecosystem Index 2025, Uzbekistan officially ranks among the top 100 countries for startup ecosystem development. This achievement is the result of a deliberate strategy, presidential support, and a generation of entrepreneurs hungry for knowledge and scale.

Venture capital and acceleration are the catalysts of our growth. Our partnership with Plug and Play, which began in 2023, reached a new high point on May 6 at the Turkistan Concert Hall.

The Plug and Play Uzbekistan Expo was more than just an event, it was a demonstration of our ecosystem’s maturity. We brought together over 30 startups from Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Europe presenting market-ready solutions in Enterprise AI, Fintech, HealthTech, and the Creative Economy - the very pillars of our tech-driven future.

By attracting international capital and talent, we are ensuring that our entrepreneurs don't just participate in the global race - they lead it. The success of this Expo confirms that Uzbekistan is a competitive, open, and dynamic environment for innovation.

Thank you to our partners and everyone who contributed to making this vision a reality.

Uzbekistan is open for innovation and parthership. We aren't just building infrastructure, we are building the future together.

Before, we could count the events on developing the startup ecosystem on one hand. Now the calendar is overflowing. And that itself is already a win.

But the most satisfying moment is when you stop counting events and start seeing real results. Numbers that don’t lie. A boost that shows our true power, and that power is youth.

Uzbekistan has officially become the fastest-growing startup ecosystem in the world.

In the latest StartupBlink Global Index, we climbed 19 places to rank 79th globally, driven by a record 227% market expansion and earning the title of “Country of the Year.”

Tashkent alone surged 121 places to become the #1 hub in all of Central Asia. Samarkand and Fergana entered the global top 1,000 for the first time. We now claim 10 of the top 13 ranked cities in Central Asia.

Behind these numbers:
→ $400M+ attracted since 2020
→ 20+ active VCs with $200M+ in combined capital
→ 930% growth in Uzbek tech companies going global
→ 100+ domestic companies now operating overseas
→ First major ecosystem exit: BILLZ at $20M valuation
→ IT Park Phase 2 breaking ground, a 12MW data center with Saudi DataVolt, and a 500MW pipeline ahead
→ The $50M Digital Startups Program open to founders worldwide

This isn’t luck. This is a strategy meeting ambition — and a generation that refused to wait.

I am genuinely delighted to share this and to congratulate every founder, every investor, every mentor and every young builder who is riding this wave. You built this.
