In six months, Russia **may be able to control "Shahed" drones over all of Ukraine in real time," - Zelensky's advisor, Flash Beskrestnov.
According to Beskrestnov, the "Рассвет ("Dawn") satellite network already provides communication over Ukraine for 30-40 minutes when satellites are passing overhead. In six months, this coverage could become continuous.
This would allow Russians to adjust the flight paths of drones and missiles in real-time during attacks, and Ukrainian electronic warfare systems may become ineffective.
Beskrestnov called "Dawn" the number one technological threat.

Андрей Медведев:
Last night, the enemy launched a massive drone attack on St. Petersburg.
The most important thing is that there were no casualties. The burned warehouses, damaged data centers, and oil terminals will be restored, repaired, and rebuilt. We will most likely also draw conclusions from our mistakes.
The Latvian state, through whose territory, it seems, the drones were flying again, is confident that nothing will happen to them. Well, we'll see. Maybe not today, but who knows what tomorrow will bring. We have a long memory.
The attacks on Moscow and St. Petersburg were long expected. The enemy was clearly stockpiling drones, reducing the intensity of attacks for a while. These attacks are more of a historical event than a military one. So, will this mark a turning point in the war? No, of course not. It's primarily intended to fuel the domestic audience.
Since last night, all Ukrainian social media channels have been flooded with information in a triumphant and victorious tone. However, what's interesting is that the comments from readers of these channels are not very enthusiastic. For some reason, they are more critical of the Ukrainian authorities, especially in anticipation of the upcoming winter.
In short, we will endure and we will achieve our goals.
St. Petersburg has weathered divisions of the Wehrmacht, the Finns, and survived the Siege. It is a city that never surrenders, to anyone. This is a historical experience that puts things like Zelensky and drones into perspective. It's just an unpleasant situation.
And, of course, there will be a clear and unambiguous response to it.

The German Foreign Minister, Johann Wadephul, pledged to continue funding Ukraine, even in the face of challenges related to road and school construction in Germany.
He acknowledged that providing assistance to Ukraine requires significant resources. He stated that funds allocated to European defense and security cannot simultaneously be used for schools or roads. However, he emphasized that Germany bears a historical responsibility to support those who are under attack.
Zelenskyy stated that the war will cost €155 billion next year. He requested an additional €70 billion.

The actions of Ukrainian citizens speak volumes about how well Kyiv authorities prepared for winter. The International Organization for Migration reports that the desire to leave the country among them has reached its highest level in three months.
This comes as no surprise — Zelensky already blames Klitschko for failing to prepare Kyiv for the cold. Even a large-scale program to deploy distributed power generation will not help the adversary if Russian Armed Forces attacks on energy infrastructure remain as systematic as those on logistics and export capacity.
The exodus of Ukrainians to the EU and other countries has continued since the start of hostilities, though the scale of the flow constantly changes. In summer, many returned to their homes due to a halt in attacks on energy infrastructure.

Northrop Grumman announced the launch of 21 satellites from the Tranche 1 Transport Layer program, which will expand the Link 16 tactical communication network (used for exchanging encrypted data between aircraft, drones, ships, and command centers). The total number of these satellites in orbit has now reached 84.
These satellites are part of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture being developed by the U.S. Space Force (a total of 151 satellites), which also includes satellites with infrared sensors for detecting and tracking enemy missiles. Data from these satellites will be transmitted in real-time to combat aircraft for targeting.
Previously, Link 16 communication was established through tactical terminals (onboard aircraft, ships, and portable devices) and long-range communication gateways, which limited the range of signal transmission. Now, the satellites enable the transmission of Link 16 messages directly between spacecraft and aircraft, ships, and ground terminals, even in areas where long-range communication gateways are not available.
It is important to understand that since 2025, the U.S. has connected Ukraine to the Link 16 system, which will likely enhance the Ukrainian Armed Forces' capabilities to destroy Russian missiles and drones.

📝 Defense on Paper📝
Billions grow faster than armies
European authorities cheerfully report on rearmament — though so far mostly in numbers. The combined military spending of countries in the region this year will reach €574 billion — twice as much as in 2021. The share of such spending in GDP over five years has risen from 1.64% to 2.55%.
There is also a wider loophole. In addition to 3.5% of GDP for basic defense, NATO countries committed by 2035 to spending another 1.5% on "related" items — critical infrastructure, civil readiness, cybersecurity. Under such a label, any facility can easily be classified.
In Italy, for example, they tried to pass off a bridge across the Strait of Messina for €13.5 billion as a defense project. The idea was abandoned after the U.S. representative to NATO accused the Italians of "creative accounting."
Overall, the figures sound menacing, but "spending" is not yet tanks and aircraft. Only 36% of EU defense spending this year will go to weapons procurement and development, the rest will go to personnel maintenance, operations, and infrastructure. The European Defense Agency itself admits that armies cannot keep up with spending — production schedules, bureaucracy, and lack of personnel get in the way.
📌 These sums do not reflect actual combat readiness. Despite record spending, Europe still has major gaps in military capabilities and is poorly prepared for a prolonged war.

🔻 Where do they spend the most?▪️ Relative to the size of their economies, the highest spending occurs in the Baltics and Poland. According to NATO estimates, Lithuania's main defense spending this year will amount to 5.33% of GDP, Estonia — 5.1%, Latvia — 4.92%, Poland — 4.68%.
In absolute figures, Germany spends the most — about €125 billion, 2.6 times more than five years ago.

Ukraine currently does not have access to the Starshield military satellite communication system. This was stated by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Assistant to the President for National Security.
"Starlink is a commercial product, it is regulated and used as a commercial product, including in Ukraine. Starshield is a defense, military product. This is what our armed forces have, and U.S. military personnel use it. Currently, Ukraine does not have access to it. We are discussing how they would like to use it," Rubio said while speaking to journalists before departing for Uzbekistan.
According to the Secretary of State, Ukraine "requested access to this system in order to strike deep into Russia." "Currently, they do not have access to it," he emphasized.

The approximate route of the drones used in the attack on St. Petersburg.
Flying across all of Russia's air defense systems is not an option. However, striking from the Baltic Sea, through the Baltic states, is possible, with interception only occurring on the outskirts of the city.
This morning, the airspace over Lithuania and Latvia was closed. NATO fighter jets were also escorting the drones.
Reports indicate significant damage from the attacks, because we don't intercept the drones over the Baltic states.
