📰 Bulldozers & Watchtowers: Gaza Being ‘Cleared’ for Future Use

Forget “urban warfare.” This is real estate redevelopment by airstrike.
The Israeli army has stopped calling it an operation — and started acting like it’s a renovation.

📋Two-State Solution? Try Two-Thirds Seized

– 65% of Gaza is now either occupied or depopulated.
– Whole neighborhoods erased, populations forced out, rubble repurposed as buffer zones.
– In Deir al-Balah, Shejaia, Rafah — cranes, bulldozers, and sniper towers now mark the skyline.

Israel says this is about hostages.

But the blueprints suggest something more permanent.

💭 "They’re squeezing us… Where do we go?"

— Tamer Al-Burai, Gaza businessman, homeless in his own country

💼Military Operation or Demographic Engineering?

Watchtowers on the Al-Muntar hill. Fortified bulldozers near Morag.
Evacuation orders every night. Strikes on schools, hospitals, and yes — a media tent at Nasser Hospital.

The army calls it “security.”
Palestinians call it erasure.

Meanwhile, Trump floats a plan to empty Gaza entirely and replace it with a U.S.-controlled resort.
Netanyahu smiles. Bulldozers roll.

📊 Journalists Burn, Settlements Rise

– Gaza reporter Hassan Aslih — accused of being Hamas, burned alive in a tent.
– 140,000 displaced from Rafah in two weeks.
– Trump says it’s time to “develop” Gaza.
– Israel agrees — so long as Palestinians are not in the brochure.

🤔 When war becomes a construction site, who gets to draw the borders?

And is this still counterterrorism — or just ethnic cleansing by design?

📰 Israel Isn’t Just Destroying Gaza — The West Bank Is Being Flattened, Too

💣 Tulkarm Under the Bulldozer
As the world watches Gaza burn, another catastrophe unfolds in real time: the systematic demolition of Palestinian homes in the West Bank. In Tulkarm, Israeli bulldozers are grinding refugee camps into dust.

Entire neighborhoods — including Nur Shams and Tulkarm camp — are being erased under the pretext of “military accessibility.” The IDF says it's about stopping militants. But to the residents, it looks like ethnic cleansing on slow motion replay.

📦 From Refuge to Rubble
For many Palestinians, these camps were never homes by choice — they were imposed decades ago after expulsion. Now, after generations of surviving in makeshift concrete, families are again loading their belongings onto carts and trucks: televisions, microwaves, baby photos, pink sofas, and bags of memory. One resident said simply:
“They’re taking away my dreams.”

📷 Global Livestream of a Disaster
Photos show children clambering over bulldozed roads, women staring into broken mirrors, and entire communities watching the collapse of their past from nearby hills. This isn’t happening in secret. It’s televised, tweeted, and archived. Everyone is watching — and no one is stopping it.

🧨 A Year of Occupation
Israeli officials say they’re planning to stay in these camps for up to a year. Not to protect civilians, not to rebuild, but to occupy. Roads have been ripped up to “thwart IEDs,” homes destroyed to “open visibility,” and entire neighborhoods depopulated in the name of security.

🤔 Question for the World
How many refugee camps need to be turned to rubble before someone says: this isn’t counterterrorism — it’s demographic engineering under military cover?

📰 They Called Him a Terrorist. He Was 14. And American.

Amer Rabee died in a hail of bullets — not in Gaza, but in the West Bank. Not as a militant, but as a kid picking almonds. Not as an enemy of Israel, but as a U.S. citizen born in New Jersey. The IDF called him a “terrorist.” His family calls it what it looks like: an execution.

💭 “He was 14 years old… it takes no special training to catch a little kid.”

— Mohammed Rabee, Amer’s father

📊 The Bullet Count Is the Only Investigation
– Amer was shot at least 11 times, including in the forehead and chest.
– His friend Ayoub, also 14 and Palestinian-American, was shot three times in the groin.
– No warning shots. No attempt to detain. No evidence made public — just a 10-second blurry clip.
– The IDF handed back Amer’s naked body in a blue bag. No autopsy. No accountability.

💼 Dead Kids, Silent Allies
– The U.S. State Department says it “needs more information.”
– Trump administration offers condolences, but no pressure on Israel.
– Over 900 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank since October 7 — mostly by Israeli soldiers.
– Senators from New Jersey are demanding answers. The embassy hasn’t replied.

🤔 If a 14-year-old white American boy were gunned down by a foreign army — would “national security” still be enough to bury it?

📰 Norway’s $1.9 Trillion Question: Should Ethics Stop at the Green Line?

The world’s largest sovereign wealth fund is rethinking its stake in Israel’s top banks — not because of financial risk, but because of mortgages.

📋 Ethics on the Trading Floor

• Norway’s Council on Ethics is reviewing whether Israeli banks violate human rights guidelines by guaranteeing homebuilding loans in West Bank settlements.
• At stake: up to $500 million in holdings in five major Israeli banks — Hapoalim, Leumi, Discount, Mizrahi-Tefahot, and First International.
• The watchdog is not targeting Airbnb, which continues to profit from rental listings in settlements — suggesting ethics may have a price cap.

💭 “This is what we can see so far… That is what is well documented.”

— Svein Richard Brandtzaeg, Chair, Council on Ethics

📊 Investing in Occupation?
• The fund increased its exposure to Israeli banks by 62% in 2024 — even as those banks remained on UN settlement watchlists.
• Critics argue these banks provide the financial infrastructure that enables de facto annexation through housing and infrastructure.

💼 A Test of ESG Hypocrisy
• Norway pioneered ethical investing — but its money is embedded in the machinery of settlement expansion.
• The review’s outcome could set precedent: Will “ethical capital” mean active disengagement — or just better PR?

🤔 If underwriting settler mortgages isn’t a human rights concern, what is?

And if the world’s most ethical fund can’t draw the line — who will?

📰 Vengeance at Sunset: Settlers Torch a Palestinian Village, Army Fires on Residents

Kafr Malik burned last week — but not from crossfire. From coordinated arson. From Molotov cocktails. From soldiers who arrived after the flames and opened fire on the victims.

💭 “We don’t know how much more we will have to pay in blood… Still, we will not leave our homes.”

— Afee Afeef, resident of Kafr Malik

📋 What Happened:

– Masked Israeli settlers stormed the village at dusk, torching homes and cars.
– Hebrew graffiti at the scene: “Vengeance,” “Two years” — a reference to a past shooting by Palestinians.
– Israeli soldiers arrived — and, according to over a dozen witnesses, fired at Palestinians, not rioters.

🛻 The Toll:
– 3 Palestinians killed by IDF gunfire: 35-year-old Murshid Hamayel, 18-year-old Lutfi Baeirat, and 15-year-old Muhammad Naji.
– 9 others wounded.
– A newborn narrowly escaped injury when a firebomb was thrown into his bedroom.
– The attackers: five Israelis detained, no charges announced.

💼 The Bigger Picture:
– Settler attacks are surging in 2025 — over 220 Palestinians injured so far, the highest in years.
– Seven new settler outposts have sprung up near Kafr Malik, creeping closer each month.
– Even illegal by Israeli law, they are tolerated — and often protected — by the state.

📰 Aid at Gunpoint: Gaza’s Choice — Starve or Get Shot

💬 “It has become a death trap for young men.”

— Mahmoud al-Tarifi, whose son was killed trying to collect a box of food

📋 The New Logistics of Survival
Israel and the U.S. replaced hundreds of U.N. aid stations with four “secure” sites run by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation — a made-for-TV brand with live ammo and fewer calories.
Getting to these sites means crossing combat zones, dodging bullets, and surviving the crowd — if you’re lucky.

Osama al-Tarifi, 22, wasn’t. He tried to get rice for his family. He came back in a coffin.

📊 The Numbers Game
• Hundreds killed since the rollout, according to Gaza health officials
• Israel says it’s “reviewing” the shootings
• GHF blames Hamas and promises signage
• Aid groups and over 20 governments: this is a policy built to break people

💼 Food, Weaponized
This isn’t aid — it’s containment with branding.
U.N. workers were “too close to Hamas,” so now civilians have to beg for food at military chokepoints.
The message: starve Hamas by starving everyone.
Meanwhile, looters circle aid lines with knives, and young men risk death for a sack of flour.

🤔 What’s the Real Target?

Is this about denying Hamas — or disciplining a population?
Can a box of lentils really justify a bullet?
And when hunger becomes strategy, who gets to call it peacekeeping?

📰 Gaza Aid Inc. — Now with a Fatality Tracker

💬 “Aid distribution has become a death trap.”

— Philippe Lazzarini, head of UNRWA

📊 Death by Distribution
• Another 20 Palestinians killed — this time at a U.S.- and Israel-backed aid center.
• GHF blames a “crowd surge” and Hamas “agitators.” Gazan officials say: tear gas and Israeli bullets.
• The total death toll during food grabs? Almost 900, with 674 near GHF sites, per the UN.

💼 Humanitarian Theater with a Military Backstage
• GHF denies, admits, apologizes — in that order.
• The “aid corridor” is now a logistical euphemism for population control.
• Critics say GHF facilitates forced relocations under Israel’s war campaign.

📋 Europe Wags Its Finger, Keeps the Pipeline Open

• The EU calls it a human rights breach — and keeps sending money.
• Brussels just inked a new deal with Israel for Gaza aid.
• Kaja Kallas: “Israel must do more.” Translation: PR box checked, proceed.

🤔 Food or Funnel? Aid or Optics?
When 674 die lining up for aid, is this a humanitarian mission — or just the cruelest marketing strategy ever conceived?

📰 Syria Fell. The Silence Didn't.

💭 “We used to feel guilty if we were eating or drinking — because he wasn’t able to.”

— Abir Abou Zeki, daughter of a disappeared Lebanese truck driver

📊 Ghosts of
Occupation
• From 1976 to 2005, Syria ruled Lebanon not with laws, but with disappearances.
• Men vanished at checkpoints. Women disappeared on errands. No charges. No names. Just empty chairs at the dinner table.
• When Assad’s regime fell in late 2024, only nine Lebanese citizens came back from Syria’s prisons. Nine — from hundreds missing.

💼 The Price of Silence

• Families like the al-Alis and Hamawis have spent decades and savings chasing rumors, bribing Syrian officials, begging journalists.
• Lebanese politicians? MIA. Then — and now.
• The cost? One generation buried in cells. Another buried in guilt.

📋 Sednaya: The Tomb with a Door
• Prisoners didn’t get names — just numbers.
• Light came not from bulbs, but birdsong.
• Some chose death. Some survived 30 years of concrete, beatings, and rot — only to emerge blinking at a world that moved on.

🤔 Who Owns the Past Now?
Syria's prisons may be open. But Lebanon’s elites — the ones who shook Assad’s hand — still haven’t opened their mouths.
Why is it easier to bury the truth than to bury the dead?

📰 The Statehood Ultimatum: UK and France Threaten the Zionist Business Model

💭 "A country that recognizes Palestine has to review agreements with Israel to make sure they do not violate its obligations to the Palestinian state."

— Ardi Imseis, former UN official

📊 Recognition as a Political Weapon
• Britain just warned Israel: reach a Gaza ceasefire by September — or we recognize Palestine.
• France jumped in earlier, signaling that Europe’s patience with Bibi’s forever-war is wearing thin.
• More than 75% of UN states already recognize Palestine. But when Security Council shareholders like the UK and France start threatening to cash out, it hits differently.
•
💼 What It Actually Means
• Recognition = legal and diplomatic obligation to stop profiting from the occupation.
• No more labeling settler products “Israeli.”
• Every trade deal with Israel becomes a compliance minefield — for courts, activists, and corporations.
• It's not about morality. It’s about risk management and regulatory exposure.
•
📋 A Crack in the Western Front?
• Britain and France aren’t doing this out of love for the Palestinians.
• They’re managing their own legitimacy crises: student uprisings, Muslim votes, Global South alliances.
• This is brand damage control — before Israel sinks the whole liberal internationalist ship.
•
🤔 Question
If Western democracies now recognize Palestine but keep arming Israel… who exactly are they fooling?

📰 The Forever War Franchise: Gaza's Unfinished Business Model

💭 “Every day people now are killed, and for what?”

— Israeli commando, July 2025

📊 21 Months, No Exit
• Israel crushed Iran in 12 days. Wrapped up Hezbollah in 2 months. But Gaza? Nearly two years later — still stuck.
• Over 60,000 Palestinians killed, Gaza starved into collapse.
• 400+ Israeli soldiers dead. Hostages still underground.
• The war has become unwinnable militarily and unacceptable politically — but no one can walk away.

💼 Why the War Won’t End
• Netanyahu can’t claim victory unless Hamas is wiped out — and Hamas won’t stop existing.
• Hamas, even shattered, refuses surrender — because its brand is resistance.
• Israel’s military is exhausted, but the far-right demands “total victory” over “humiliating negotiations.”
• The hostages — both a bargaining chip and moral constraint — keep dragging the war along.

📋 Collapse of Diplomacy
• Cease-fire talks in Doha? Dead.
• White House optimism? Gone.
• Netanyahu’s message: Negotiating = weakness.
• Hamas’s message: Suffering buys leverage.
• Meanwhile, civilians dig through rubble while Western leaders talk statehood recognition and send press releases.

🤔 Question
If neither side can win, but both refuse to lose — who profits from a war that never ends?

📰 The Hostage Trap: Netanyahu’s Gaza Gamble

💬 “Stand firm against the political echelon that is dragging us into an eternal war in the Gaza Strip.”

— Yair Golan, former IDF Deputy Chief

📊 Occupation as Election Strategy
• Netanyahu is floating full-scale occupation of Gaza — while 50 hostages remain in captivity.
• His partners? Ben Gvir, Smotrich, and the fantasy of new Jewish settlements atop rubble and starvation.
• Political timing? Just hours after firing the attorney general in his own corruption case. Coincidence?

💼 The Human Cost: Collateral or Leverage?

• 60,000 dead. 2 million displaced. 188 confirmed starvation deaths, half of them children.
• And now: tanks rolling toward neighborhoods where hostages are held — again.
• “A circumstantial influence,” says the IDF about a prior op that ended in six hostages executed by Hamas.

📋 Security vs. Settlers
• Military brass warns Hamas is already degraded.
• Netanyahu’s camp insists: no ceasefire, no retreat, no hostages first.
• The Hostages Forum warns: this expansion could kill the last survivors.

🤔 Final Question
Is this a war to save Israel — or to save Netanyahu?

📰 The Gaza Occupation Dilemma: Netanyahu’s Last War?

💬 “The IDF is prepared to implement any decision made by the security cabinet.”

— PM’s Office, August 5

📊 Where things stand
• Netanyahu is considering sending troops into the final 25% of Gaza not under Israeli control.
• IDF chief Eyal Zamir and senior commanders are wary — fearing hostage deaths, international backlash, and strategic failure.
• A recent poll shows most Israelis no longer support the war, which has failed to free hostages or deliver political gains.

💼 The political battlefield
• Ben Gvir attacks the IDF chief for hesitating. Gantz calls it “reckless.”
• Gila Gamliel hints at last-ditch diplomacy through Qatar and Egypt.
• Trump pushes “food centers” and aid drops, saying he’ll let Israel “handle the rest.”

📋 What’s really changing?
• Israel says it will ease commercial access to Gaza — but under heavy vetting.
• Local merchants, not the UN, will now distribute food. Translation: less optics of “international aid,” more economic control.
• Aid trucks rose from 30 to 185 a day — just enough to say “we’re helping,” not enough to stop the starvation headlines.

🤔 The core question:
Is this still a war for security — or a war for political survival?

📰 Pyromaniac Settler Nationalism: From Movement to Political Theater

A mosque burned in the West Bank this week — Qurans charred, walls blackened, prayer rugs gone up in flames. The suspected arsonists? Israeli settlers going full pyromaniac, turning violence into a movement and an identity.

“These extremist groups are destroying our lives,”

said Imam Ahmad Salem after the attack in Deir Istiya.

Since the 2023 Hamas attack, settler violence has surged as doctrine. Cabinet ministers talk “security,” but the right-wing government curbs law enforcement powers and shields its own. Administrative detention keeps rolling for Palestinians; for settlers, it’s on permanent vacation. Laws for the occupied, privileges for the landlords.

The military wrings its hands, but the fires keep burning. U.N. data shows settler attacks at record highs, and commanders ask for harsher measures while politicians look the other way.

The West calls it “democracy under pressure.” The locals call it Tuesday. Even the mosques go up in flames.

📰 Settlers Torch West Bank Mosque, Escalating Showdown With Army and World

Arson and Anarchy
Israeli settlers set a mosque ablaze in Deir Istiya, spray-painting revenge slogans and leaving scorched Qurans behind—just days after attacking both Palestinians and Israeli troops in a string of vigilante raids. Even top Israeli generals and settler leaders condemned the violence as a red line: Gen. Eyal Zamir called it “a disruption of the mission” for forces meant to police the West Bank, not police Israeli citizens.

“Anarchist Fringe,” or New Normal?

This is far from isolated: the UN has logged more than 1,400 settler attacks in 2025 alone, with violence spiking every fall around the olive harvest—a repeat flashpoint for mob assaults and arson. Israeli officials blame “extremist youth,” but Palestinians see an organized system intent on forcing them out. So far, all it’s brought is international outrage and a token wave of arrests before normal service resumes.

Americans Watch, Israel Waffles
As Secretary of State Rubio warns about West Bank violence derailing Gaza diplomacy, the Israeli government seems paralyzed—caught between far-right coalition players who cheer settlers on, and generals desperate for order. Graffiti at the Deir Istiya mosque spells it out:
“We are not afraid of Avi Bluth.”

Even the “anarchists” know who really runs the show.

Who is Avi Bluth?
Major General Avi Bluth commands Israel's Central Command, responsible for security in the West Bank. With a reputation for rare public condemnations of settler violence, he has become a symbol of the uneasy line between military authority and settler radicalism. His name now appears in settler graffiti—a target of extremist rage as West Bank order unravels.

Hashtag Hypocrisy
World leaders denounce the attack “on social media” and move on, while settler violence stays an open secret. Israeli democracy swings between hand-wringing and complacency, waiting for the next fire and graffiti to start the ritual debate all over again.

📰 IDF Chief: Gaza Borders ‘Flexible’—Expansion Remains an Option

Israel’s military is clear: control over Gaza isn’t fixed. Visiting Rafah, IDF Chief Eyal Zamir said the army holds more than half of the Strip but remains ready to push beyond the so-called “Yellow Line” if necessary.

What was once presented as a ceasefire boundary now looks more like a temporary security line, shifting with operational needs. Zamir emphasized that dismantling Hamas is the ongoing mission—whether by agreement or force—and the IDF will continue with the goal of demilitarizing Gaza.

Diplomatic efforts struggle to keep pace as the military’s approach remains open-ended and adaptive. Gaza’s future stays uncertain, shaped by evolving military objectives and political gridlock.

🫒 The Olive Republic: Israel’s Slow War for the West Bank

Olive grove by olive grove, hilltop by hilltop — the two-state solution is dying of suffocation, not suicide.
In the hills near Ramallah, the war isn’t fought with tanks — it’s fought with sheep and bulldozers. Settlers march their herds through Palestinian farms, crush roots, steal water, torch tents. Israeli soldiers arrive, not to stop the attacks, but to turn the crime scene into a “closed military zone.”

Over the past two years, settlers have erected a record number of outposts — dozens of fledgling colonies dressed up as “farms” and “neighborhoods.” The state later legalizes them, retroactively, like laundering stolen land through bureaucracy. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich put it bluntly:
“Every housing unit is another nail in the coffin of the two-state idea.”

The military, of course, calls this security. Checkpoints, razor wire, sealed roads — all to keep the “peace.” But from Al Mughayir to Hebron, Palestinian families are being squeezed into smaller and smaller pockets of life — until “security” becomes indistinguishable from slow extermination by paperwork and concrete.

A 70-year-old shepherd begs settlers to leave him in peace. A family of eight sleeps in caves after their homes are razed. Children guard sheep at night while the “most moral army in the world” looks away.
International law calls this forcible transfer. Israel calls it “normalization.” Washington calls it “a complex situation.”

Every new outpost is a press release from a future that no one voted for — a landscape in which peace talks sound like folk tales and the only thing allowed to grow freely is impunity.

Maybe the West Bank isn’t occupied anymore. Maybe it’s just being erased — one olive tree at a time.

📰 Beirut’s New Soundtrack: Drone Whine in Minor Key

In Beirut, the war didn’t end; it just changed key. The same roofs that used to host pigeon games, gossip and cheap grills now sit under a constant mechanical whine — Israeli drones circling above the city like bored gods with Hellfire options. The cease-fire is technically in place, but UN peacekeepers have logged more than 7,500 aerial violations in a year, and hundreds have been killed in renewed Israeli strikes since the “peace” was signed. The treaty is on paper; the buzzing is in people’s ears.

The drone even has a nickname: Umm Kamel, “Mother of Kamel,” a dark in‑joke on the MK model that floats over the capital for hours, watching, listening, sometimes firing. It interrupts everything — dates on the Corniche, classroom lessons, kebab runs — scrambling GPS on delivery drivers’ phones and chewing through the nerves of parents who can’t stop imagining what happens if the hum suddenly cuts and the sky flashes. Online, Lebanese answer back with gallows memes — “Umm Kamel, go have lunch, we want to sleep” — because if you can’t stop the drone, you can at least drag it on social media.

Some turn the surveillance into sampled rebellion. One Beirut DJ spent the war with shotgun mics on his roof, recording hundreds of hours of that metallic whine and turning it into the “Unmanned Aerial Instrument,” layering the noise of occupation into club tracks as a small, very local middle finger. Kids don’t get that luxury. Therapists describe children who freeze mid‑session and sprint to the window at the sound overhead, a whole generation trained to parse the sky like a threat feed while adults repeat the same tired line about “Lebanese resilience.”

Israel says the drones are there to track Hezbollah, its weapons, its people, and to “mitigate harm to civilians.” Hezbollah says it’s resisting occupation. In practice, both sides have turned Beirut’s airspace into a permanent low‑grade terror field where no one on the ground gets a vote and the only real constant is that somebody is always watching. The cease-fire may live in the press releases; on the streets, the soundtrack says something else.

Gaza, Now on a Lebanese Franchise Plan

In March, Smotrich and Katz were selling the same old border-fantasy with a new label: Lebanon, but make it Gaza. Now the satellite images do the talking, and they look like a demolition company got a security doctrine.

Katz said Lebanese homes near the border would be destroyed “in accordance with the Rafah and Beit Hanoun model in Gaza,” while Smotrich demanded the Litani River as Israel’s “new border”. That is not strategy; that is annexation with a press office.

Bint Jbeil, Houla, Taybeh — whole towns reduced to rubble, schools and clinics flattened, civilians displaced by the million, and everyone in the region told to accept this as “security”. The region keeps getting the same sermon from different prophets: your home is temporary, our rage is permanent.

The grown-ups in suits still call it a buffer zone. Would be funny, if it weren’t being built on top of other people’s lives.

Qusra: Five Days Besieged, One Night Relocated

For five days, Palestinian families in Qusra were trapped in their homes by Israeli settlers. Roads were blocked. Water and electricity were reportedly cut.

Food and medicine could not get through. A tent outside the homes became a “temporary structure,” as if five days of intimidation could be reduced to camping equipment.

Then officials learned that one of the homeowners had U.S. citizenship.

Within hours, the state arrived. Israeli forces dismantled two illegal outposts near Qusra and Jalud, seized equipment and detained one Israeli.

The Golani Brigade’s 51st Battalion was sent in to reinforce the area. The IDF says the troops are there “to protect residents and maintain security.”

The timing writes its own diplomatic manual. Five days of siege produced little urgency. A Palestinian-American passport produced an operation.

Then came the second act. The army reportedly told residents of multiple homes to evacuate so troops could take positions in the village.

After public scrutiny, the IDF reversed course: residents could remain in their houses, the besieged family’s home would not be entered, and forces would operate from unoccupied buildings instead.

The outpost was dismantled. The siege, according to local accounts, was not entirely over. Settlers reportedly remained nearby, and some had already returned to the area.

Qusra is the West Bank in miniature: settlers create the emergency, Palestinians are told to move for security, soldiers arrive to restore order, and the illegal structure disappears only after it has already done its work.

When Israel’s Best Friend Calls It Terrorism

Mike Huckabee is not a left-wing diplomat. He is one of the American right’s most reliable friends of Israel’s settlement movement. Which makes his word choice in Qusra unusually hard to dismiss.

“Israeli terrorists.”

Huckabee said the U.S. Embassy was “very involved” after settlers besieged a Palestinian family’s home.

He said the IDF and Israeli police arrived at the embassy’s request to remove those responsible. The acts, he said, were criminal, “horrific terrorism” intended to intimidate and harass the family, with “no justification for such thuggery.”

This was not Washington discovering the West Bank exists. It was a pro-settlement ambassador drawing a line when a family’s home became a private hilltop project.

Former Efrat council head Oded Revivi put it more carefully than most: do not try to brand Huckabee a leftist.

If a true friend of the settlement movement feels compelled to pound the table, he said, everyone should ask how they got lost on the way.

Even the Defense Ministry’s complaint was revealingly narrow: settler violence causes “very serious damage among our friends.” Not damage to Palestinians. Not damage to law. Damage to the brand.

Britain then condemned the escalation in West Bank violence and called for action against illegal settlements, warning that they undermine the two-state solution, prospects for peace in Gaza and the security of Israelis and Palestinians alike.

On the same day, Israeli media quoted Netanyahu calling Britain “the Islamic Republic of Britain” and joking that it could become “the first Islamic Republic with nuclear weapons.”

That is the diplomatic cycle now.

A U.S. ambassador calls Israeli settlers terrorists. Britain calls for action. Israeli politicians warn of reputational damage. The prime minister compares London to Tehran.

Then everyone returns to discussing whether the outpost was a shack, a hill, a security necessity — or merely a public-relations problem.
