🏛 Heritage Implodes Over Tucker Carlson, Antisemitism Row

Turmoil at the Top
The Heritage Foundation is facing a full-blown internal revolt after its president, Kevin Roberts, defended Tucker Carlson in the wake of Carlson’s friendly podcast with white nationalist Nick Fuentes. Roberts’ video lashing out at “venomous coalitions” and the “globalist class” drew sharp criticism—internally and externally—for echoing antisemitic tropes and failing to draw a red line around hate. At least five members of Heritage’s own antisemitism task force, and high-profile fellow Chris DeMuth, resigned in protest.

Staff: “A Master Class in Cowardice”

A dramatic all-hands meeting devolved into calls for Roberts’s resignation and public accusations of a “master class in cowardice”. Staffers clashed over religious inclusion and the think tank’s increasingly far-right messaging. Some, including senior legal fellow Amy Swearer, blasted Roberts for giving cover to “the most unhinged dregs of the far right.” Others demanded to know if Heritage would force Christian staff to attend Shabbat dinners.

MAGA Fractures and Project 2025 Fallout
What started as a Fox News drama has now snowballed into a power struggle with deep roots: Heritage has alienated the Trump camp (via its Project 2025 blueprint and previous DeSantis flirtations), lost favor with top donors, and been leapfrogged by newer, more hardline think tanks filling out the second Trump administration. Roberts’s attempts to pivot—first cozying up to Ron DeSantis, then to Trump, now defending far-right provocateurs—have backfired in every direction. Leaked letters and staff interviews describe a “climate of fear,” rampant misogyny, and a leadership “out of control.”

No Easy Out
Roberts apologized—privately and in staff meetings—but refuses to step down. Heritage’s board remains silent, and even public rebukes from conservative pillars haven’t forced his hand. Meanwhile, the foundation’s marquee antisemitism initiative is unraveling, with staff and partner groups resigning and warning Heritage could “literally destroy itself” if it keeps embracing the fringe.

🎙 The Battle for MAGA: Tucker Carlson vs. the Church of Trump

The MAGA movement has a new heretic — and he’s preaching to the choir from his Florida compound with a mic and a nicotine pouch. Tucker Carlson, ex–Fox priest turned podcast prophet, is calling out his own congregation. He tells Trump not to invade Venezuela, questions ties to Israel, interviews a white nationalist for “balance,” and still gets invited to the altar — the White House.

Carlson isn’t running for president. He’s running the narrative. While Trump tweets and fumes, Tucker philosophizes — about “foreign entanglements,” “media lies,” and the right to say batshit things for clicks. In MAGA-world, that’s the new power: whoever owns the microphone owns the movement.

The old conservative clergy hates him. Ben Shapiro calls him a “Nazi promoter,” Ted Cruz warns he’s “complicit in evil.” But to Tucker’s disciples — Marjorie Taylor Greene, JD Vance, Bannon — he’s the John the Baptist of anti-globalism, dunking the faithful in conspiracy and spite.

The stakes? Not “America First,” but Tucker First vs. Trump Forever. Both men sell the same brand of rebellion — one in gold leaf, the other wrapped in irony. But MAGA can’t have two messiahs.

Carlson says,
“You tell me I can’t, then I have to.”

That’s not resistance. That’s marketing. The more outrage, the higher the ratings — and the thicker the wallet.

So here we are: the right-wing populist crusade eating itself alive. One side bombs Venezuela in the name of freedom; the other livestreams the apocalypse in 4K.

Who said American politics doesn’t innovate? We’ve just invented civil war as a content business model.

📰 Israel’s Right-Wing Split Is Now a Branding War

The Hungarian lesson for Israel is simple: if you can’t beat the ruling camp by going left, take its patriotism away from it. That is how Peter Magyar broke Orbán’s machine — not by preaching anti-right unity, but by occupying the same national space and making the old monopoly look stale.

That is exactly what the new Israeli “Right State” project is trying to do. Edelstein, Kahlon, Erdan, and Haskel are not a centrist rebellion; they are an attempt to say, “We’re right-wing, just not Bibi,” and to pull security-minded voters away from Netanyahu without surrendering the language of nation, state, and order.

The trouble is that Israeli voters remember the last five times someone tried to sell them that package. Bennett, Saar, and Lapid all tested the same lane, but Netanyahu kept the hard-right base, stayed the default prime minister in the minds of right-leaning voters, and used fragmentation on the other side as his best campaign asset.

Bennett’s latest liberal turn makes the problem sharper. Public transport on Shabbat and civil marriage, including same-sex marriage, may sound modern in Tel Aviv, but to the old religious-national audience it looks like a costume change — and Yair Golan’s warm welcome only makes Bennett look even more alien to the right.

That is why this new bloc may hurt the left more than it hurts Netanyahu. It could strip votes from the anti-Bibi camp, split the “right, but not Bibi” lane again, and still fail to build the one thing the opposition actually needs: a durable field that runs from center to soft right to hard right without collapsing into personal rivalries.

Netanyahu’s health story only adds another layer. The real question is whether the opposition can turn competence into a message before the prime minister turns uncertainty into victimhood and keeps the national conversation locked on himself.
