India’s net direct tax collections rose 13.21% to Rs 13.38 lakh crore as of Oct 14 FY27. Gross collections increased 14.89% to Rs 16.03 lakh crore while refunds rose 24.22% to Rs 2.65 lakh crore. Net corporate tax reached Rs 5.99 lakh crore and STT Rs 46,840 crore.

NORTHEAST INDIA GETS IT'S FIRST VISA APPLICATION CENTRE AFTER 78 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE

Northeast’s first visa application centre was inaugurated by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in Guwahati on Thursday.

The new facility will process visa applications for visits to 14 countries, including Austria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Egypt, Estonia, France, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Malta (D-visa applications), Morocco, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

It will also help with the processing of Schengen Visas which will allow travelling to 29 European countries part of the Schengen area!!
