While CEO Karl-Heinz Rumminegge confirmed interest in Upamecano, the statement regarding advanced talks with Upamecano’s agents makes a potential move for Dayot to FC Bayern even more likely.

Bayern Muenchen II v TSV 1860 Muenchen - 3. LigaPhoto by Roland Krivec/DeFodi Images via Getty ImagesBayern Munich’s Joshua Zirkzee might finally get his wish for more playing time. After some tough negotiations that almost saw the deal fall through, Bayern Munich striker Joshua Zirkzee looks set to sign a six-month loan agreement with Parma. The deal itself is not exactly what Bayern Munich wanted. Zirkzee will head to Parma for six months and the Italian club will reportedly hold an “option-to-buy” the 19-year-old Dutchman. The Bavarians, however, were more keen for Parma to hold an “obligation-to-buy” the striker.Sky’s Max Bielefeld broke down the whole saga into a tweet:Update Zirkzee: He’ll sign the loan contract in Munich tomorrow before flying to Parma in the afternoon. @FCBayern tried to negotiate an obligation to buy until the end, but accepted a 6 months loan plus option in the end. Medical probably on Monday #TransferUpdate @Sky_Marc https://t.co/d650Z0ezAC— Max Bielefeld (@Sky_MaxB) January 30, 2021Sport Bild chief reporter Tobi Altschaffl also confirmed the deal and indicated that Zirkzee is happy to be leaving Bayern Munich, where he did not see much of an opportunity to play:Trotz der Gerüchte in Italien um Joshua Zirkzee und einen Wechsel zu Parma geht man beim FC Bayern intern aktuell von einem Verbleib des Stürmers aus. Zirkzee is happy, he saw no more chance of playing at Bayern.#fcbayernFinally, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano squeeze out even more of the finer details, including Bayern Munich reportedly set to receive 7.5% of any future sale of Zirkzee:Joshua Zirkzee is joining Parma from Bayern Münich, confirmed. Total agreement reached on loan with buy option around €15m.#Bayern will also have potential 7,5% of future sale from Parma. Personal terms agreed too. Last details... then here we go soon @Kyle_J_Krause. #parma https://t.co/JKJkNbNFhP— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) January 30, 2021Zirkzee, who failed to impress this season, had a short explosion of opportunistic play in the 2019/2020 campaign, but has been wildly inconsistent ever since. A move seems to be the best thing for all parties involved. At one point both Everton and Juventus were linked to Zirkzee, but the Dutchman likely has a better chance to play at Parma, which is currently 19th in the Serie A table. As Bielefeld stated, a medical exam is expected to happen on Monday.

Bayern Muenchen II v TSV 1860 Muenchen - 3. LigaPhoto by Roland Krivec/DeFodi Images via Getty ImagesBayern Munich’s American defender will look to find minutes at his new club.Chris Richards has been touted as one of Bayern Munich’s brightest young players in recent times. And at the start of the season, it looked like the American might break into Bayern’s first team after he had a couple appearances for the seniors. However, in the past few months, Richards has rarely been used by Hansi Flick. Therefore, now, TSG Hoffenheim are set to sign Richards on loan. This news comes courtesy of Sky Germany and reporter Max Bielefeld:Sky sources: @USMNT player Chris Richards from @FCBayern will go on loan to @tsghoffenheim. Last details still to be negotiated between the clubs. He didn’t participate in today’s training session and already said goodbye to some team mates #TransferUpdate @Sky_Torben @Sky_Marc— Max Bielefeld (@Sky_MaxB) January 31, 2021According to Bielefeld, Richards has already said goodbye to some of his teammates and wasn’t in Bayern’s latest training session although the “last details (are) still to be negotiated between the clubs.”This transfer makes sense for a number of reasons. Firstly, Richards will be able to experience valuable playing time at the high level of the Bundesliga. Furthermore, Richards path to first team football was just unrealistic in his two favoured positions — with a number of players above him in the pecking order at right-back and centre-back.All in all, this seems like a good move to a team that plays a similar football philosophy to that of Bayern Munich, at a high level and under a coach who has already worked with Richards before. Hopefully Richards is able to improve as a player during his loan spell and establish himself as a starting contender for when he returns to Munich.Update [8:10AM EST]Sport1’s Florian Plettenberg has confirmed Bielefeld’s report and has also added that there is no “option-to-buy” clause attached to this loan agreement:Update Chris #Richards: The info from the Sky colleague is correct. He will join @tsghoffenheim on a 6-months loan. @SPORT1 #FCBayern— Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal) January 31, 2021

First, he scored his first Champions League goal and then later officially decided that he will play for the German national team. Now, the soon-to-be 18-year-old is just about set to sign his first professional contract.Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić planned on Musiala signing the contract on his 18th birthday, which is in two days, but the latest reports are suggesting that the initial contract extension date will be prolonged for a couple of more days:Sky sources: The new contract for @JamalMusiala until 2026 is almost ready - only last details are missing. Paris Saint-Germain v FC Bayern Munich - UEFA Champions League Quarter Final 3: Leg TwoPhoto by Alexander Scheuber - UEFA/UEFA via Getty ImagesThe David Alaba transfer saga is nearly at an end.David Alaba has agreed to join Real Madrid beginning this summer, accord to Sky. Alaba will sign a five year deal with Los Blancos that will keep him in Spain until the summer of 2026.This ends a multi-year saga, where Bayern continued to throw money (which he has rightly earned) at Alaba and his advisors in an attempt to get him to extend with the Bavarians. The Austrian, however, was long linked with a move to Spain, and it appears that is finally coming to fruition.Sky sources: David Alaba has agreed a 5 year contract until 2026 with @realmadrid. The veteran, who will be turning 29 years old this summer, has instead opted for their arch-rivals.One must wonder if Bayern’s rumored pledge at the last extension that Alaba would get a shot to play in the center of midfield which never came to pass has played any part in his decision to leave Munich. Still, we salute Alaba for his decade plus service to Bayern and wish him all the best in the future. We’ll bring you the news when it’s official.

Now, however, Lewandowski is close to entering the two-year window of his contract ending and it seems like it is time for the agent game to start. You know that game...don’t you? The one where there is a bunch of sudden interest sparked seemingly out of nowhere for a player who needs a contract extension within one year or else his current club will be at risk of losing him for free. It is an extension or a sale...there really is no in-between in this game. That’s the period that Lewandowski is entering, so a report like this leaking is not all that shocking. For Lewandowski, it has been assumed that Bayern Munich would look closely at a contract extension given his excellent physical condition and his sustained excellence on the pitch. For now, though, it Bayern Munich has more pressing contract matters with younger players. Assuredly, there will be time for the club to sit down with Lewandowski and plot out a pathway forward.

The Rekordmeister, however, has apparently decided to forego submitting a proposal to SC Freiburg or any other club as Bayern Munich probably will not be looking to add another center-back after all.Instead, Die Roten will look to sign a midfielder and a player to fill the void at right wing-back.

FC Bayern Muenchen v Liverpool - UEFA Champions League Round of 16: Second LegPhoto by Ahmad Mora/NurPhoto via Getty ImagesMane could very well imagine a move to Bayern, but there is still a lot to work out for things to get serious. The rumor seems to have popped out of thin air in recent weeks, but Liverpool’s Sadio Mane has been linked with a potential move to Bayern Munich this summer. The Senegalese winger has been with Liverpool since joining from Southampton in the summer of 2016 and has been one of the most important attacking players in Jurgen Klopp’s side. He’s scored 120 goals for the Reds and has provided a total of 48 assists from 268 appearances across all competitions. Bayern Munich fans will unfortunately remember his contribution to the Champions League round of 16 second leg at the Allianz Arena, a match in which Mane scored twice and Liverpool won 3-1.Per a new update from Sky Sport’s Florian Plettenberg, Mane himself could very much imagine a move to Bayern this summer. He also reports that there has been progression in talks between Mane’s representatives and Bayern. It had come out at the beginning of the month that Mane was Hasan Salihamidzic’s number one target for a “statement transfer” this summer as Bayern is preparing to potentially lose Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona.News #Mané: He can really imagine to join #FCBayern this summer! There is movement in talks with the player and his management. Next 3-4 weeks are decisive. Nagelsmann & Brazzo want him. Transfer fee probably less than €50m. @SkySportDE #TransferUpdate https://t.co/qBhLogrvzM— Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal) May 23, 2022Both Salihamidzic and Julian Nagelsmann — allegedly — really want Mane to join Bayern and his current contract at Liverpool is set to expire next summer, so they might be able to realistically get him this summer for 50-million euros or less. His ability to also play as a false 9 or center forward is part of what makes him so desirable for Bayern, especially under the assumption that Lewandowski will eventually leave for Barcelona. VfB Stuttgart’s Sasa Kalajdzic has also been heavily linked as a potential Lewandowski replacement as a more out and out striker, but he doesn’t quite match the stature of a player like Mane.As Plettenberg reports, the next 3-4 weeks will be a crucial period in Bayern’s attempts to try to persuade Mane to come to Munich this summer. Mane and Liverpool are prepping for the Champions League final against Real Madrid set to take place at the Stade de France in Paris this weekend after just narrowly missing out on the Premier League title to Manchester City. Liverpool was on the verge of (potentially) completing a historic treble, but regardless, the Champions League dust will likely have to settle before discussions start to progress even further than they already have.

The latest reports indicate that the Austrian is looking more closely at BVB right now because of Robert Lewandowski’s presence on the Bayern Munich roster for 2023.Sky’s Florian Plettenberg says the number could be a little bit lower than what kicker states, but also is reporting Bayern Munich could be pushing ahead of Borussia Dortmund:Update #Kalajdzic: In the talks numbers have already been discussed. Nagelsmann has concrete plans with him. All sides push for a transfer to #FCBayern. Next talks this week. In addition, Noussair Mazraoui is another Ajax right-back coming to Munich. For Sarr, this means that if he stayed, he would most likely not get more playing time than in this past season. Rather even less. A new challenge elsewhere would probably be the best solution for both sides. FC Bayern want and need to save salaries, and for the Lyon-born Frenchman with Senegalese roots, a change of scenery would mean more appearances.A change for Sarr is absolutely the best scenario for all involved.Bavarian Podcast Works: Weekend Warm-up Podcast Season 1, Episode 50 (Bavarian Football Works)Bayern Munich’s offseason got off to a rousing start.Robert Lewandowski wants to leave the club for FC Barcelona. The Croatian can leave VfB this summer for €25mBayern Munich’s rumored interest in Sosa is very curious. I can only think of a few reasons why the Bavarians would want to spend money on another left-back, when Alphonso Davies is entrenched as the starter:Bayern Munich is going to let Davies return to his natural position — wing. Julian Nagelsmann is reportedly toying with the idea of using a back-four, which could allow Davies to return to both play wing and provide depth at left-back when needed.Bayern Munich wants a ridiculous amount of depth at left-back/left wing-back because they are worried about Davies’ physical state following his bout with myocarditis last season.Bayern Munich is worried about Davies’ drop off in form over the past 18 months.Bayern Munich might be getting out ahead of find a replacement because they know Davies might want to leave in 2024 (a year ahead of his contract ending). To me, it just feels like Davies will go to the Premier League next. Those are completely speculative and just guesses. I don’t know that I believe that the Bavarians are really interested in Sosa, though it is known that Nagelsmann wanted him last winter. Some elements of this rumor that are believable, but the presence of Davies would seem to make an acquisition of Sosa a bit redundant.Kane’s reps say they have not been contacted by Bayern (@Plettigoal)Harry Kane’s reps have said they have not spoken to Bayern Munich:Update @HKane: One of his representatives told me today: „All I can say is we haven’t spoken to Bayern.“ As reported in our show #TransferUpdate : #Kane and Bayern isn’t hot at all actually. @SkySports— Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal) June 10, 2022But has Bayern Munich spoken to Tottenham Hotspur about Kane?(Probably not)Gnabry’s chance of joining Gunners are “remote” (The Athletic via @iMiaSanMia)As of now, it seems like the pool of clubs that would be able to take on Bayern Munich star Serge Gnabry is shrinking. Brighton & Hove Albion v Manchester United - Premier LeaguePhoto by Matthew Ashton - AMA/Getty ImagesIt’s probably not gonna happen, UNLESS? (No it really probably won’t happen ... UNLESS???)So let’s get this straight — Diario AS published a report where they claimed Cristiano Ronaldo would be moving from Manchester United to Bayern Munich in order to fill the gap left by the departure of Robert Lewandowski. My editor won’t like that huge sentence but it’s shortest way possible to describe this mess.So — is Bayern Munich planning to sign Cristiano Ronaldo?Uh, no. Not at all. Not even in the slightest.Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg, who was the first to break news of the Sadio Mane saga and has generally been spot-on with all his transfer takes this summer, had this to say about the Ronaldo rumors:Update #Ronaldo: He will not join FC Bayern! More details tonight - in our show #TransferUpdate . @SkySportDE— Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal) June 24, 2022Here is the AS report he was responding to, by the way:¡Bombazo a la vista! Ante el irrefrenable deseo de de abandonar el Bayern, el club alemán se plantea cubrir el hueco del polaco con pic.twitter.com/wi9P4QftGu— Diario AS (@diarioas) June 23, 2022If it still matters, Bild's Christian Falk also thinks Bayern will not sign Ronaldo this summer:The rumours of an interest of @FCBayern in @Cristiano Ronaldo are NOT TRUE ❌— Christian Falk (@cfbayern) June 24, 2022Falk hasn’t been anywhere near as reliable this window as he used to be, but we have no reason to doubt his reporting on this. Why would Bayern sign Ronaldo? It doesn't make any sense. Then again he DID say the Mane news was untrue, and that seemed almost as unlikely at thr time, sooooo ... let’s just ignore him for now. No need to overthink it.Basically, according to unreliable sources, Bayern want CR7 this summer. But according to (mostly) reliable sources, Bayern will not sign CR7 this summer. Seems conclusive, but what do I know? Transfer rumors can be weird even at the best of times.

VfL Wolfsburg v FC Bayern München - BundesligaPhoto by Marvin Ibo Guengoer - GES Sportfoto/Getty ImagesThis is hilarious. What a negotiating strategy by Bayern.Florian Plettenberg has been on fire this transfer window. He’s the guy who broke the Sadio Mane news, so when he speaks you need to listen. Now according to his latest report, Bayern Munich want at least €60m for Robert Lewandowski this summer, and FC Barcelona are looking to improve their bid. A few days ago Plettenberg had reckoned that Lewy would stay in Germany this summer — now he says that the move is much more likely. Here’s the tweet in question:Update #Lewandowski: His move to Barcelona is more likely than a few weeks ago. Now it’s an open poker about the price. It is said that Bayern wants to receive at least €60m. Barcelona improves their offer. Open end. @SkySportDE @Sky_Marc #TransferUpdate— Florian Plettenberg (@Plettigoal) June 26, 2022Of course Barcelona have the money to pay for the transfer, because they say so. Joan Laporta seemed very confident about the club’s finances following their members’ decision to sell off part of the club’s merchandising and TV deals in order to raise money. Now, the president of a venerable footballing institution such as Barcelona would surely never lie, would he? That would be unthinkable. So obviously he’s not bluffing and Bayern are well within their rights to demand a large chunk of cash for Lewandowski’s transfer. So now we wait for the next bid from the Catalans. Hopefully they at least offer 50 million euros this time. If not, then maybe Lewandowski should start getting worried about a lack of appreciation. He wouldn’t want to go to a club that doesn’t appreciate him, right?
