Put pods underneath and we have a winner.

Cummon…really ? Would you sit up here ? I have to ask why…the noise would be deafening, the view forwards and down obstructed by the aircraft. I flew the Herc which had a cupola and the view was good above but rubbish elsewhere. Put this in the same file as round banked runways…and move on.

RT @TTheBattlefield: 🇺🇸🇷🇺 BREAKING: US Fighter Jets Intercept Russian Bombers Near Alaska

‼️Tensions in the Arctic airspace remain high as US military forces intercepted a major Russian military formation operating near Alaska.

🔍 Key Details of the Intercept:

🔻The Incursion: According to NORAD, the incident occurred on Wednesday when Russian aircraft entered the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).

🔻The Russian Fleet: The detected group was heavily armed and equipped, consisting of two Tu-95 strategic bombers, two Su-35 fighter jets, and an A-50 airborne early warning and control aircraft.

🔻The US Response: A massive aerial scramble. Two F-16s, two F-35 stealth fighters, and five other combat aircraft were deployed to intercept, identify, and escort the Russian planes until they exited the zone.

💡 Why it matters (Zero-Click Context): While flights in the ADIZ occur in international airspace, this "cat-and-mouse" game is a classic military power projection tactic. Moscow uses these bomber patrols to physically test US air defense response times and radar capabilities, keeping NORAD on constant high alert.

👇 Is this just routine military posturing by Moscow, or a deliberate test of US readiness amid wider global tensions? Let’s debate in the replies.

RT @TTheBattlefield: 🚨🇵🇱🇺🇦 NATO ON ALERT: Poland Scrambles Fighter Jets During Massive Russian Strike

‼️As Russia launched another devastating wave of overnight missile strikes across Ukraine resulting in tragic casualties, the skies over Eastern Europe went on high alert.

🔍 Key Details of the Incident:

🔻The Scramble: Polish and allied NATO military aircraft were urgently scrambled into the air as Russian missiles bombarded neighboring Ukraine.

🔻The Justification: The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces officially stated that these actions were strictly "preventive," aimed solely at ensuring the security of Poland's airspace.

🔻Border Focus: The military specifically highlighted that the highest state of readiness was maintained in areas bordering the most threatened Ukrainian regions.

💡 Why it matters (Zero-Click Context): This is the harsh reality of the war's proximity to NATO territory. When Russia launches massive barrages at western Ukraine, the margin for error is dangerously thin. Missiles have previously crossed into Polish airspace. Scrambling fighter jets isn't just a routine drill; it's an active defense protocol to immediately intercept any rogue or off-course Russian munitions before an accidental strike triggers a catastrophic Article 5 NATO response.

👇 Do you think the constant scrambling of NATO jets during Russian attacks successfully deters Moscow from testing Poland's borders, or does it increase the risk of an accidental direct clash in the air? Let's discuss in the replies.

RT @jumpjim: If you’re ever unfortunate enough to see an engine failure like this on the aircraft you’re travelling in, a couple of reasons you don’t need to be scared (Although I understand it’s human nature)..

1) Firstly it’s very rare. Most pilots are likely to have one engine failure per career as new engines are VERY reliable.

2) The flight crew train and are tested for this exact scenario every 6 months in the simulator. Dealing with one becomes second nature as we’ve practised it so often.

3) Our first priority is making sure the aircraft is flying somewhere safe (Away from terrain) so the fire might not get extinguished immediately. The engine is designed to contain it in the meantime.

4) Lastly, and don’t take this the wrong way, communicating with the cabin is a fair way down the priority list so it might be a while before we speak to you. This does not mean it’s not being dealt with.

The U.S. moved 12 U.S. Air Force B-1B "Lancer" strategic bombers out of RAF Fairford in England on Sunday over concerns about a possible drone attack ordered by Iran's Revolutionary Guard, according to U.S. and European officials briefed on the matter, speaking to The Wall Street Journal. The officials said it was part of a broader plot to hit the aircraft and kill personnel at the base, including American pilots.

The Pentagon declined to comment on the plot but confirmed all American bombers at the base have returned to the U.S. Vice President Vance said they were moved "out of an abundance of caution trying to protect our guys."

U.K. officials caution there is no evidence Iran could carry out such an elaborate operation against Fairford, and Secretary of State Marco Rubio said it isn't unusual for military aircraft to rotate around the world.

Six men arrested in connection with the case, including a dual U.K.-Iranian citizen, were released on bail. None have been charged.

On October 29, 2026, Russian Sukhoi Su-57 fighter jet caught fire and burned down at the Akhtubinsk Air Base in southern Russia.
