“We believe in all the prophets—in Jesus, Moses, and Abraham, peace be upon them.”
I had thought that Muslims hated Christianity and disrespected its prophet. I did not know that the prophets were part of the same divine message.
As I learned more, I came to understand that God's religion is one, and that people had deviated from it over time.
I began to see that the religions were speaking about one fundamental truth.
🕊️ The Question That Changed Everything
I began thinking about something very simple, but it became one of the key reasons I accepted Islam as the truth.
I asked myself:
“How did the disciples of Jesus, peace be upon him, pray during his lifetime?”
As a Christian, I would begin by invoking God and the Holy Son who had supposedly been crucified.
But did the disciples pray that way too?
According to Christian belief, Jesus was crucified. But if he had not yet been crucified while he was alive, how did his disciples pray during his lifetime?
They must have prayed in another way.
I thought:
“Then Christians must have changed some things. If so, the original, pure religion was no longer preserved—and I was following a religion that was no longer pure.”
That realization, together with other experiences, opened my heart to Islam and made me love it. ❤️
🤲 Trusting God
People around me told me that changing religions meant sacrificing many things—friends, family, habits, and so on.
But I realized that this was not something to fear.
Allah takes care of every aspect of our lives.
I thought of the story of Prophet Job (Ayyub), peace be upon him. God took away his blessings, but after his patience and perseverance, He gave him even more.
We should not be afraid of sacrificing something for God.
If we place our trust in Allah, everything will ultimately be alright. 🤍
🌙 The First Day of Ramadan
One day, a friend said to me:
“Today is the first day of the blessed month of Ramadan. Would you like to fast with us?”
I replied:
“How can I fast like you Muslims?”
They said:
“We can make you a Muslim right now.”
I asked:
“How?”
I thought there would be some kind of baptism or complicated ceremony.
They said:
“No, no. It's very simple. Do you believe in Allah as the One and Only God?”
I said:
“Yes.”
They asked:
“Do you believe that Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him and his family, is the final Prophet?”
I said:
“Yes.”
They said:
“Then repeat after us.”
They recited the Shahada, and I repeated it.
And so, on the first day of the blessed month of Ramadan, about fourteen years ago, I became a Muslim. 🌙☝️
When I changed my religion, I felt a light—something resembling the light I associated with my father.
Because when a person becomes Muslim, all their previous sins are forgiven.
📧 The Unexpected Message
At that time, the Internet was nothing like it is today, so I did not check my email regularly.
When I was twenty, my cousin, who lived in Switzerland, called me and asked:
“How are you? Did you receive my email?”
I said:
“What email?”
She replied:
“I met a man on the Internet who claims to be your father. He is looking for you. Do you want to get in touch with him?”
I said:
“Of course. I've been looking for him since I was sixteen.”
I was completely confused.
It felt as though something had suddenly fallen from the sky. ☁️
I remembered praying to God:
“If I am going to die, and this is the last day of my life, I want to see him. I want to know who my father is. I want to connect with him. I want to know the other half of myself.”
And then, I found my father.
I traveled to Canada to meet him.
🇨🇦 Finding My Family—and Discovering Shiism
My friends asked me:
“Are they Iraqi?”
I said:
“Yes.”
They told me:
“They are probably Shi'a, so be careful. Watch out for Shi'a. They are disbelievers in God.”
They told me all kinds of strange stories about Shiism.
They frightened me and said:
“Insha'Allah, you'll turn them into Sunnis.”
I went to Vancouver and found my family.
The first thing I witnessed was their prayer of thanksgiving.
They had turbah (prayer stones), performed qunut, and said:
I thought:
I remember that they would go to Masjid al-Zahra for Friday prayers. It was completely different from what I had experienced in Germany.
They performed qunut, and I did not understand what they were doing.
I stopped going to Friday prayers with my father.
He became somewhat worried. He had certain thoughts going through his mind. Perhaps he wondered whether his son might be one of those “terrorists.”
He said:
I replied:
🌟 My Brother and the Ahl al-Bayt
The first time I saw a photograph of my brother, I saw a special light in his face.
He looked like the moon—Masha'Allah. 🌕✨
I asked my father:
He told me:
My brother was very spiritual, patient, and devoted to the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them.
Little by little, he introduced me to Shiism and the school of the Ahl al-Bayt.
He taught me Salat al-Layl (the Night Prayer).
The Night Prayer creates a powerful connection between a person and God. While everyone else is asleep, a person stands before Allah and privately speaks with Him.
🤍 “I Am With You”
One night, I was alone in my room. At that time, I felt extremely lonely.
Then I heard a voice in my soul saying:
I felt those words in my heart.
With my entire being, I experienced God's mercy and kindness.
I fell to the ground and began to cry.
I could not stop.
I truly felt God's presence with all my heart and soul. 🤲😭
When Muharram came, I began listening online to lectures about Muharram and learning about the differences between Sunni and Shi'a Islam.
Little by little, my understanding of the school of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) became complete.
🕊️ A journey that began with a search for a father ultimately became a journey toward God.
From Christianity → to Islam → and ultimately to the Ahl al-Bayt.
Sometimes, the search for where we come from leads us to discover where we truly belong. ❤️

🔸 Be Mindful of Your Child’s Interest in Reading Novels 🔸
🔹 Ayatollah Haeri Shirazi 🔹
📚 Sometimes your children may want to read novels. Be mindful that the novel they are reading is like food they are consuming. Examine this food and make sure it is not poisonous; if it is, they should not consume it.
The Qur’an says:
Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him), explaining this verse, said:
In other words, a person should consider from whom they are receiving and reading this knowledge—and, by extension, these stories and novels.
📚 Look at the memoirs of the war veterans. Sometimes they are written so beautifully that they read exactly like a novel. Some writers, such as Anton Chekhov, also write very well. But do you really think that reading Chekhov’s works has the same effect as reading the memoirs of a soldier who experienced the battlefield firsthand?
📚 So what should you do?
Buy these veterans’ memoirs—whatever it takes—and put them somewhere your child can easily see and reach them.
But don’t tell your child to read them. Don’t recommend them. Just buy the book and leave it there.
Because the moment you say, “Read this book,” the child may think:
These thoughts may come into the child’s mind.
📚 So if you want to encourage your child, pick up the book yourself and read it. Perhaps even take notes from it, so that your child sees that you consider the book important.
Then, when the child becomes curious and asks to read it on their own, simply say:
At that point, even a child who has never been interested in books may sit down and read it—whereas if you had told them to read it, they might have refused!
“Al-insānu ḥarīṣun ʿalā mā muniʿa” — A person is naturally eager for what has been forbidden to them.
📚 Make good books available to your children in place of harmful novels.
Whenever you see something forbidden or harmful that is leading a child astray, you should look for a “halal” alternative to place alongside it, so that the child has a healthy alternative and can gradually turn away from what is harmful.

🔸 The Purifying Power of Friday Prayer 🔸
🔹 Ayatollah Haeri Shirazi 🔹
The status of those who are committed to attending Friday Prayer is not the same as that of those who are not.
In the past, when someone wanted to serve as a witness, it was customary to investigate whether they regularly attended congregational prayer. If they were not committed to attending Friday Prayer and congregational prayers, their testimony would not be accepted—even if they were known to perform the Night Prayer (Salat al-Layl).
Why? Because abandoning such an important religious practice diminishes a person’s sense of muru’ah—their dignity, integrity, and moral standing.
🌱 An individual prayer is like a small spring.
If one hundred people attend congregational prayer, one hundred small springs come together and form a pool.
But Friday Prayer is where all these pools converge. All those springs that had gathered into pools now flow together into Friday Prayer.
When you go to Friday Prayer and return home, you store up spiritual purity for the entire week.
When all these individual acts of worship are connected, they acquire a purifying power that they did not possess before.
Friday Prayer, like ablution (wudu) and ritual bathing (ghusl), brings purification to a person—a purification from doubt, uncertainty, and hesitation.
🕊️ When a person remains at home, attached to their house and worldly preoccupations, they are like a prisoner.
One of the special qualities of Friday Prayer is that it creates within a person a desire to step outside, breathe freely, and break free from themselves—to leave their own home and come to the House of God, and to move from the company of people who are heedless toward the company of people who are attentive and spiritually aware.
✨ You only need to attend for a week or two and taste the sweetness of this worship.
After that, it will become more enjoyable to you than any garden, outing, recreation, or leisure trip.

🔴 Expanding the War Fronts & Iran’s Strategic Response
✍️ Mostafa Amiri
🔻 Following the attack on an Iranian vessel in the Caspian Sea by Ukraine, allegedly acting on behalf of NATO, the indication is growing stronger that the enemy is seeking to expand the war through its proxies, with the expansion of the war fronts appearing to be a deliberate objective.
However, with the attack on an LNG carrier—one of Europe’s primary energy sources—in Damietta Port, Egypt, in the southern Mediterranean, Iran’s response amounts to bringing the war to Europe’s backyard, right next door to the Israeli regime.
▪️ Some analysts believe that, at the present stage, a direct confrontation between Iran and NATO would benefit the United States. Therefore, Iran should not fall into the trap of a direct war with Ukraine. Instead, as in the case above, it should respond elsewhere—as it did with the “mysterious strike” in Egypt.
Likewise, in the past, a similar “mysterious strike” hit Saudi Aramco.

🔻 Don’t We Get Tired of All These “End-Times” References!? — Part One

“Don’t we get tired of all these end-times comparisons?”
Hello, and I hope you are all doing well. First, I would like to thank Mr. Taheri. I do not know him personally, but let me make one point clear:
Regardless of who is asking the question, we have encountered questions like this many times. We have been working in media for more than 10 years, and during this period, particularly in discussions about Mahdism, we have encountered all kinds of people and perspectives—from those who had not even resolved the basic question of the existence of Imam al-Mahdi in their minds, to those who, naturally, had even greater doubts about the signs of his Advent.
So, with thanks to Mr. Taheri, what I am saying here is not a personal response to him. I am speaking generally.
There are essentially two ways to respond to questions of this kind, depending on who is asking.
If the person asking is among those who support the Islamic Revolution led by Imam Khomeini, we respond in one way.
If the person is among the opponents of the Revolution, sometimes the answer is very brief. Ultimately, depending on the circumstances, we may simply give them the Qur’anic response:
“For you is your religion, and for me is my religion.”
Sometimes, however, we emphasize certain points precisely so that their subconscious may be encouraged to think:
“Wait a minute…”
Because if someone does not even accept the idea that the Iranian Revolution has a role in preparing the ground for the Advent, then what exactly are we supposed to discuss with them?
But let us assume that the questioner belongs to the first group—that they are genuinely asking out of a desire to understand, rather than sarcasm.
Now, consider what Imam Khomeini said about the Islamic government in Iran. He explained that the ultimate objective of the Revolution is the establishment of a global Islamic government and the Advent of Imam al-Mahdi.
Likewise, as the Supreme Leader stated in the Second Step of the Revolution, the goal is the “rising of the sun of Supreme Wilayah.”
And if someone deviates from this path, Imam Khomeini described it in extremely serious terms—even referring to it as betrayal.
So, when people ask, “Why all these end-times references?”—these are not concepts invented by us. Imam Khomeini and the Supreme Leader have repeatedly used such terminology themselves.
Take the issue of Palestine, for example. The Supreme Leader has described the Palestinian issue as connected to the opening of the doors of Divine Deliverance for the Muslim Ummah.
These are not merely “end-times keywords.”
In another audio recording by Imam Khomeini—which I hope to share separately—he discusses the narrations concerning the Book of Fatimah and explains that it contains knowledge concerning past and future events and is now in the possession of Imam al-Mahdi.
I will share Imam Khomeini’s own audio so that you can hear his words directly; it is more eloquent that way.
And perhaps—though this is my own inference—the events surrounding the Iranian Revolution may also have been among the events referred to in that book.
We also hear similar expressions from the Supreme Leader.
The problem is that we become so immersed in our daily political news—news that becomes outdated within 24 hours—that we sometimes completely lose sight of the larger purpose.
A story that dominates the news today becomes stale tomorrow. Yet in the process, we sometimes push the very idea that the Revolution was intended to prepare the ground for the Advent into the background and eventually forget it.
For example, what do figures such as Javad Zarif and others say?
When Zarif writes about a “paradigm shift,” he is referring to a particular intellectual framework. And certain strategists associated with some previous governments have even asked:

“Why shouldn’t we become like the UAE or Saudi Arabia? Why do we keep talking about the destruction of Israel?”
You may have recently seen a diplomat, during a debate with Mr. Thabeti, repeatedly asking:
“When is Imam al-Mahdi coming?”
These approaches attempt to separate the Revolution from what are presented as its fundamental ideological foundations.
To use an analogy from logic: the classic definition of a human being is “a rational animal.”
If you remove the defining characteristic of rationality, what remains of that definition?
Likewise, if the original purpose of the Revolution—its claimed role in preparing the ground for the Advent—is removed, what remains?
This is why the Supreme Leader has also spoken about this issue. He referred to the existence of a determined group within the system that, unfortunately, made—and sometimes continues to make—serious efforts to push those ideals into oblivion.
The point is that our young people should not reach a stage where simply mentioning Imam al-Mahdi seems strange or unfamiliar to them.
As Imam Khomeini put it:
And what has the Supreme Leader said?
He has described the ultimate trajectory of the Revolution as reaching an Islamic civilization—ultimately culminating in the era of Imam al-Mahdi.
So, Iran is presented as a starting point for the establishment of the global government of Imam al-Mahdi.
We have a responsibility to introduce our young people to these concepts—to explain what the Ahl al-Bayt have taught about them—so that they cannot later say:
“No one ever told us. We were never given the full picture.”
The Supreme Leader has also spoken, particularly in the Second Step of the Revolution, about:
“Building a new Islamic civilization and preparing for the rising of the sun of Supreme Wilayah.”
This wording was deliberate.
Imam Khomeini himself spoke about waiting for the rising of the sun of Imam al-Mahdi.
And in Islamic narrations, Imam al-Mahdi is famously likened to the sun behind the clouds.
These expressions are not accidental. They are deliberate, eloquent, and deeply rooted in the theological tradition.
Imam Khomeini also said:
“The world is being prepared for the rising of the sun of Wilayah from the horizon of Mecca.”
Among scholars of futurism and Mahdist studies, there has been discussion over whether the Iranian Revolution should be described as the starting point or as a prelude.
Some argue that it is a prelude that itself leads toward a new beginning.
There are also narrations referring to the Mahdi and the East. Historically, the region of Iran was considered part of the eastern lands.
In any case, let me conclude with one of Imam Khomeini’s final messages to revolutionary youth:
— Sahifeh-ye Imam, Vol. 20, p. 38
So, there are many such end-times references in the words of both Imam Khomeini and the Supreme Leader.
Now, what does this preparation actually mean?
Sometimes we become so immersed in figures like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi that we know practically everything about them—their biographies, where they lived, where they played, how many achievements they had.
Yet you may ask a young person today:
“You have spent so much time reading novels, scrolling through your phone, and following celebrities. Tell me—have you read even one book about Imam al-Mahdi this year? What was its name?”
If the Revolution was established with the stated purpose of preparing the ground for the Divine Savior, then how did we end up here?
The Supreme Leader once made a statement that went viral across social media, particularly directed at revolutionaries who regard the Advent as something distant.

The Supreme Leader once made a statement that went viral across social media, particularly directed at revolutionaries who regard the Advent as something distant.
The Shiite hadith tradition contains narrations found in major works such as Al-Kafi by Al-Kulayni and The Book of Occultation by Al-Nu’mani, discussing the psychological dimension of awaiting the Advent.
The idea is that if a person does not regard the Advent as something that could be near, they may gradually become hard-hearted.
Why?
Because when you are genuinely waiting for someone, you constantly look for signs of their arrival.
Imagine someone traveling from Tehran to Mashhad. You keep asking:
“How many kilometers are left? Has he reached Qom yet?”
You are constantly monitoring the journey and sharing your anticipation with others.
That is what it means to truly await someone.
The Supreme Leader used another powerful expression that was widely circulated: “the summit.”
Unfortunately, some people interpreted that statement primarily through an economic lens, which, in my view, did an injustice to what he was actually saying.
What is the summit?
It is the establishment of justice through the rule of the Imams.
Even Imam Ali was only able to maintain his government for a few years because of the battles of Jamal, Siffin, and Nahrawan.
The summit, therefore, is the establishment of a just government on a scale that has not been achieved since the Prophet.
And the Supreme Leader said, in essence, that this is something the younger generation must accomplish.
And regarding these supposedly “end-times” expressions, he has said:
“Whether I am here or not, you will see the liberation of Jerusalem. You will pray in Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
These are all references connected to eschatology and the End Times.
So, no—these references did not suddenly appear out of nowhere.
They are deeply embedded in the discourse of both Imam Khomeini and the Supreme Leader.
And, God willing, this first part has been useful.
Ya Ali. Please remember us in your prayers.
