🔰 On the occasion of the Arbaeen (40th) of Imam Hussain (pbuh), a mourning ceremony was held at the Imam Khomeini (ra) Hussainiyah on Thursday, August 14, 2025.

The event was attended by thousands of university students from across the country. The program began with the recitation of Ziyarat Arbaeen, followed by a speech from Hujjat al-Islam wal-Muslimeen Rahim Sharafi, who outlined the means of attaining divine assistance. He stated that based on divine traditions, “dua,” “patience and steadfastness,” “piety,” “jihad,” “trust in God,” and “adherence to divine leadership” are the six key factors for attaining the help and pleasure of Almighty God.

In the continuation of the program, Mr. Meysam Motiee delivered elegies and eulogies in lamentation of the sufferings of Lady Zainab (pbuh) and the captives of Karbala.

⚔️ The Generation That Saved Karbala: From Sacred Defense to Holy Shrine

A stark reminder from the leadership reveals how close we came to catastrophe—and how a generation forged in one war rose to prevent it.

A group of people gave their lives to stop them. They did not allow it.

Those footsteps—that ultimate sacrifice for the right to visit that grave—are what paved the way for the 20 million walking pilgrims of Arba'een we see today. That global majesty, that overwhelming love for Imam Hussein (AS), traces its first brick to those who gave their lives to visit his grave.

According to some narrations, the Imamate—and related divine affairs—was meant to be realized around the year 70 AH. But because of the way Imam Husayn (peace be upon him) was treated, God became wrathful with the people of the earth. As a result, the Reappearance could no longer occur except through the gate of renewed loyalty and faithfulness.

Since people were deprived of the Reappearance through the failure of loyalty, divine mercy must also return through that very same path. The martyrdoms taking place today, born of devotion to Imam Husayn, are part of that process. The Reappearance cannot be achieved except through loyalty to the Imam.

✍ The Arbaeen Visit of Imam Husayn (peace be upon him)

Atiyyah al-Awfi narrates:

Jabir ibn Abdullah al-Ansari and I entered Karbala to visit the blessed grave of Sayyid al-Shuhada, Imam Husayn (peace be upon him).

Jabir performed ghusl in the Euphrates, put on clean clothes, applied perfume, and continued remembering Allah as he walked step by step toward the sacred grave.

▪️ Jabir threw himself upon the grave of Imam Husayn and fell unconscious. When he regained consciousness, he called out three times:

"O Husayn! O Husayn! O Husayn!"

But he received no reply. He then said:

"Does a beloved friend not answer his beloved?"

▪️ Beside the grave of Imam Husayn, Jabir lamented:

"How could you answer me, when the blood from your veins has covered your body, and your head has been separated from your body?"

▪️ Then Jabir said beside the grave:

"I bear witness that you are the son of the Seal of the Prophets, the son of the master of the believers, the son of the ally of piety, the essence of guidance, and the fifth of the People of the Cloak (Ahl al-Kisa)."
