🍀My other important question centered on #Muhammad (peace be upon him). I found out that Muslims do not #pray to him like the #Christians pray to #Jesus. He is not an intermediary and in fact it is forbidden to pray to him. We ask blessing upon him at the end of our prayer but likewise we ask blessings on #Abraham.
🍀❤️He is a prophet and a messenger, the final and last prophet. In fact, even 14 centuries later, there has been no prophet after him.
🍀Because prayer was a very important part of my Christian life I was both interested and curious to know what the #Muslims were praying.
🍀 As Christians we were as ignorant on this aspect of Muslim belief as on the other aspects. We thought and were taught, that the Muslims were bowing down to the #Ka’bah, in #Makkah....

The Event of Mubahala was a #debate between Islamic Prophet Muhammad and the Christians of Najran, where the call was extended to the sons and women.
The #Christians of Najran came to Medina claiming that Isa (Jesus) is divine and the son of Allah. In fact, they meant to determine whether Muhammad’s claims were in accordance with the prophecies of their holy books.
The event is recorded in several Hadith collections and is referred to in the Qur’anic surah Al Imran.

🌻 #Ayatollah_Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, issued a message on January 02, 1995 for the auspicious birth anniversary of #Jesus Christ (pbuh).
The full text of the message is as follows:
In the Name of God, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I congratulate all Christians and Muslims —particularly our Christian compatriots—on the birth anniversary of His Majesty Jesus Christ, the great prophet, as well as the commencement of the new Gregorian year.
This chosen prophet of God, invited mankind to the path of God, which is the path to mankind’s prosperity and happiness; he warned them against pursuing their evil desires, contaminating the purity of the human soul into depravity, cruelty and wantonness. Tyrannical, corrupt and aggressive powers--who were the slaves of wealth and power--strained and slandered this divine messenger and intended to take his life ; then God embraced him safely and securely. They horribly tortured his apostles and adherents, for years, in order to destroy his teachings which were against corruption, oppression, idolatry, dissoluteness, warmongering and deceiving the public. They--who were themselves corrupt, oppressive, dissolute, warmongers and deceived people—could not tolerate God’s religion, God’s prophet, and the followers of the divine path.
Today powers of the same type do not want to tolerate those who submit to God, follow God’s religion, and followers of truth. To obey Jesus Christ (pbuh), one needs to support truth and abhor the powers that are against truth. It is hoped that #Christians and #Muslims across the world will incorporate this great teaching of #Jesus Christ (pbuh) into their lives and actions.
I ask God to make the New Year a year of prosperity for all nations and the entire mankind.

🌹 #Mubāhala (Arabic: مُباهَلَة) means cursing and damning each other. Two people or two parties, who believe they are right, supplicate before God and ask Him to curse the liar so that everyone knows who is right. Thus, the #Prophet (s.a) suggested #Christians_of_Najran to do mubahala and they accepted; however, on the day they had agreed upon earlier, they #refused to do mubahala since they saw that the Prophet (s) came with #closest_members of his family, who were his daughter, #Fatima al-Zahra (a), his son-in-law, #Imam_Ali (a), his grandsons, #Hasan (a) and #Husayn (a), and thus Christians understood his #truthfulness. This way the #Prophet (s) became #victorious in this event.
