π Divine Power vs. Worldly Power: The Lesson of Prophet Moses and Pharaoh Quran, Surah Al-A'raf (7:103): "Then after them We sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his establishment, but they wrongfully rejected them. So see how was the end of the corrupters."β¦
π The Staff & the Serpent: A Divine Showdown Against Falsehood
Quran, Surah Al-A'raf (7:107):
"So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a manifest serpent."
This single verse captures the moment Divine Truth shattered the illusion of worldly power. But the full story, as narrated by the Ahl al-Bayt (as), reveals a dramatic battle between Haqq (The Truth) and Batil (Falsehood).
π The Confrontation in Pharaoh's Court:
When Prophet Moses(as) first threw his staff before Pharaoh, it transformed into a tremendous serpent (Thu'ban). The sight was so terrifying that:
Β· Pharaoh's entire court fled in panic.
Β· Pharaoh himself, struck with terror, begged Moses to remove it, invoking God and their familial bond.
Β· For a moment, Pharaoh's heart trembled toward faith. But his minister, Haman, quickly appealed to his arrogance: "While you are a god being worshipped, you have become a follower of a slave?"
βοΈ The Great Contest: Sorcerers vs. The Sign of God
Humiliated, Pharaoh mobilized his kingdom. He gathered a thousand sorcerers, promising them wealth and status if they won. Intriguingly, the sorcerers themselves made a pact: "If Moses overcomes us and nullifies our magic, we will know what he has brought is not from magic or trickery. We will believe in him."
On the appointed dayβa public festivalβthe greatest sorcerers cast their ropes and staffs, creating a powerful illusion of moving snakes that awed the crowd. They cried: "By the might of Pharaoh, we will surely be the predominant!"
Then came Moses's turn.
π The Ultimate Sign:
Moses (as) cast his staff. It did not just become a snake; it became a manifest, colossal serpent that:
1. Devoured all the illusions of the sorcerers' ropes and staffs.
2. Reared its head so high it loomed over Pharaoh's own steel-plated dome.
3. Caused such awe and panic that ten thousand people perished in the stampede.
Pharaoh and Haman were so terrified they soiled their garments, their hair turned white, and they fainted from fear.
β The Sorcerers' Transformation:
Witnessing undeniable Divine Power, the sorcerers immediately prostrated. They declared: "We have believed in the Lord of the worlds, The Lord of Moses and Aaron."
Enraged,Pharaoh threatened them with crucifixion. Their immortal reply? "No harm! Indeed, to our Lord we will return. We eagerly hope our Lord will forgive us our sins for being the first believers." (Quran 26:50-51)
π The Lesson:
This story is not just a historical account. It is a timeless lesson:
Β· Truth (Haqq), no matter how simply presented (a staff), will always swallow and expose falsehood (Batil), no matter how grand its illusion.
Β· True victory lies not in worldly might (Pharaoh's kingdom) but in submission to the Divine Will.
Β· The greatest magic, the greatest power structures, and the most arrogant rulers are powerless before a single sign from Allah (swt).

π The Divine Staff: A Miracle of the Past & A Sign for the Future
Quran, Surah Al-A'raf (7:117):
"And We inspired to Moses, 'Throw your staff.' And at once it devoured what they were falsifying."
This verse captures the moment God's definitive sign swallowed the elaborate illusions of Pharaoh's sorcerers. But the story of this staff, according to the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (as), is far more profound and spans from the beginning of creation to the End of Time.
π A Relic of Prophethood:
Imam Muhammad al-Baqir (as) revealed an astonishing truth about this very staff:
Β· Its Sacred Lineage: It originally belonged to Prophet Adam (as), then passed to Prophet Shuaib (as), and finally to Prophet Moses (as).
Β· Its Present State: "It is with us," declared the Imam. "I saw it recently, and it is still green, as if it had just been cut from its tree. It speaks when spoken to."
β¨ Prepared for the Awaited One:
The Imam (as) then delivered a breathtaking prophecy about its ultimate purpose:
Β· "It has been prepared for our Qa'im (al-Mahdi, may Allah hasten his reappearance). He will perform with it what Moses used to perform."
Β· When it appears for the Imam of our Time, it will "instill awe" and will "devour what the falsifiers fabricate." It will carry out any command given to it.
π The Future Manifestation:
Imam al-Baqir (as) described its awe-inspiring action in detail:
"When it advances to devour what the falsifiers present, it splits into two branches: one in the ground and the other in the ceiling, with forty cubits between them. It devours what they falsify with its tongue."
π The Eternal Lesson:
This narration connects three monumental eras:
1. The Past: As proof for Prophet Moses against Pharaoh's tyranny.
2. The Present: Preserved with the Immaculate Imams (as), a living testament to God's covenant.
3. The Future: As a definitive weapon for Imam al-Mahdi (AJ) to eradicate falsehood in its final, global form.
The staff is not merely a historical artifact. It is a symbol of continuous Divine authority (Wilayah) and a promise that the ultimate victory of Truth over every illusion is inevitable.

π΄ One of the Reasons Why Our Prayers May Not Be Answered
π Ayatollah Sheikh Jafar Naseri

ββββββββββββββ
Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) once encountered a believer who was constantly praying, yet his prayers were not being answered.
From Prophet Mosesβ perspective, this man seemed to have fulfilled all the conditions necessary for his prayer to be accepted. So he asked Allah:
π€² βO Allah, he is a good man and worships You. Why donβt You answer his prayers?β
Allah replied:
βNo, he is not as you think.β
Prophet Moses asked:
βO Allah, how is that?β
Allah said:
π βHe is stingy.β
Prophet Moses asked:
βHow is he stingy, O Lord?β
Allah answered:
β¨ βWhenever he prays, he only prays for himself. He asks only for himself.β
πΉ Look at how Merciful and Loving our Lord is!
Perhaps one of the reasons our prayers are not answered is that we remember only ourselves when we pray, and forget others.
π€² Let us make a place in our prayers for others, too.
