But Pharaoh, blinded by arrogance and upheld by a priesthood steeped in sorcery, accused Moses of being a magician:
Pharaoh challenged him to a contest, summoning his finest sorcerers. The appointed day arrived — a grand public confrontation.
The magicians cast their ropes and staffs, and by their illusion, they appeared as writhing serpents. Even Moses felt fear, but God reassured him:
When Moses cast his staff, it devoured their illusions. The sorcerers fell in prostration, declaring:
Pharaoh was humiliated. Out of fury, he accused his magicians of conspiring with Moses — yet his empire had witnessed the undeniable truth.
🚶♂️ The Exodus Begins
From that moment, Moses began preparing his people for the Great Exodus — a divine migration from bondage to freedom, from the darkness of Pharaoh’s tyranny to the light of the Promised Land.
His mission was no longer just to confront Pharaoh, but to organize and uplift a people long broken by servitude, to restore faith, and to lead them toward divine destiny.

“This is but a skilled sorcerer who wishes to drive you from your land by his magic.”
(Qur’an 26:34–35)
Pharaoh challenged him to a contest, summoning his finest sorcerers. The appointed day arrived — a grand public confrontation.
The magicians cast their ropes and staffs, and by their illusion, they appeared as writhing serpents. Even Moses felt fear, but God reassured him:
“Do not fear, for you are the superior one. Cast down what is in your right hand; it will swallow up what they have made. What they have made is but a magician’s trick — and the magician will never succeed.”
(Qur’an 20:68–69)
When Moses cast his staff, it devoured their illusions. The sorcerers fell in prostration, declaring:
“We believe in the Lord of Moses and Aaron.”
Pharaoh was humiliated. Out of fury, he accused his magicians of conspiring with Moses — yet his empire had witnessed the undeniable truth.

🌊 The Great Migration: Moses (PBUH) and the Deliverance of the Israelites 📚 From “The Cultural History of the Cursed Tribe” – Part IV Source: JS Center (https://jscenter.ir/jewish-history/israelites/10494) 📖 The Night of Exodus After years of defiance, Pharaoh…
In a state of profound spiritual exaltation, the Israelites followed Moses into the desert of Sinai — unaware that their true journey had only begun. It was here, in the silence of the wilderness, that they would come to understand their divine destiny and the purpose of their deliverance.
Yet, moments of doubt still shadowed them. Some hearts wavered, but Moses stood unwavering, his faith unshaken.
☠️ The End of Pharaoh
As the last Israelite stepped onto dry ground, and the last chariot of Pharaoh entered the seabed, God’s command came. The waters surged back — crashing over Pharaoh and his hosts.
Thus ended the mightiest empire of arrogance, and thus began the destiny of a nation once enslaved — a people now bound by covenant to their Lord.
🕊 The Exodus was not merely an escape — it was a transformation.
From bondage to belief, from fear to faith, from Pharaoh to freedom.

🌟 Divine Power vs. Worldly Power: The Lesson of Prophet Moses and Pharaoh Quran, Surah Al-A'raf (7:103): "Then after them We sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his establishment, but they wrongfully rejected them. So see how was the end of the corrupters."…
🌟 The Staff & the Serpent: A Divine Showdown Against Falsehood
Quran, Surah Al-A'raf (7:107):
"So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a manifest serpent."
This single verse captures the moment Divine Truth shattered the illusion of worldly power. But the full story, as narrated by the Ahl al-Bayt (as), reveals a dramatic battle between Haqq (The Truth) and Batil (Falsehood).
📖 The Confrontation in Pharaoh's Court:
When Prophet Moses(as) first threw his staff before Pharaoh, it transformed into a tremendous serpent (Thu'ban). The sight was so terrifying that:
· Pharaoh's entire court fled in panic.
· Pharaoh himself, struck with terror, begged Moses to remove it, invoking God and their familial bond.
· For a moment, Pharaoh's heart trembled toward faith. But his minister, Haman, quickly appealed to his arrogance: "While you are a god being worshipped, you have become a follower of a slave?"
⚔️ The Great Contest: Sorcerers vs. The Sign of God
Humiliated, Pharaoh mobilized his kingdom. He gathered a thousand sorcerers, promising them wealth and status if they won. Intriguingly, the sorcerers themselves made a pact: "If Moses overcomes us and nullifies our magic, we will know what he has brought is not from magic or trickery. We will believe in him."
On the appointed day—a public festival—the greatest sorcerers cast their ropes and staffs, creating a powerful illusion of moving snakes that awed the crowd. They cried: "By the might of Pharaoh, we will surely be the predominant!"
Then came Moses's turn.
🐉 The Ultimate Sign:
Moses (as) cast his staff. It did not just become a snake; it became a manifest, colossal serpent that:
1. Devoured all the illusions of the sorcerers' ropes and staffs.
2. Reared its head so high it loomed over Pharaoh's own steel-plated dome.
3. Caused such awe and panic that ten thousand people perished in the stampede.
Pharaoh and Haman were so terrified they soiled their garments, their hair turned white, and they fainted from fear.
✋ The Sorcerers' Transformation:
Witnessing undeniable Divine Power, the sorcerers immediately prostrated. They declared: "We have believed in the Lord of the worlds, The Lord of Moses and Aaron."
Enraged,Pharaoh threatened them with crucifixion. Their immortal reply? "No harm! Indeed, to our Lord we will return. We eagerly hope our Lord will forgive us our sins for being the first believers." (Quran 26:50-51)
💎 The Lesson:
This story is not just a historical account. It is a timeless lesson:
· Truth (Haqq), no matter how simply presented (a staff), will always swallow and expose falsehood (Batil), no matter how grand its illusion.
· True victory lies not in worldly might (Pharaoh's kingdom) but in submission to the Divine Will.
· The greatest magic, the greatest power structures, and the most arrogant rulers are powerless before a single sign from Allah (swt).

🔵 On the anniversary of the passing of Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi (Dey 12, 1399 SH / January 1, 2021): 💎 The Study of Judaism in the Works of Allameh Mesbah Yazdi 1⃣ From the God-Kings of Egypt to the Custodian of the World 👉https://jscenter.ir/judaism-and-islam/jews…
From the God-Kings of Egypt to the Custodian of the World
The Factors of Human Rise and Fall in the Mirror of Quranic Stories from the Israelites – Part 1: The God-Kings of Egypt
An article based on the ethical discourse of Ayatollah Mesbah Yazdi (ra) on the study of Judaism and the Israelites in the Quran.
🔷 Key Points:
· The Quran extensively uses the stories of Bani Israel (the Israelites), particularly the narrative of Prophet Musa (Moses) and Pharaoh, to offer profound lessons for individual, social, and political life.
· The story begins by highlighting Pharaoh's core flaw: 'Uluw (Arrogance and Seeking Superiority). This is distinct from the natural human desire for self-perfection (Kamal Talabi).
· To maintain his dominance, Pharaoh employed a classic tool of oppression: creating division (جَعَلَ أَهْلَهَا شِیَعًا) and weakening segments of society, establishing a system of oppressors (Mustakbireen) and oppressed (Mustad'afeen).
· The Quran strongly condemns this societal corruption and warns against it. This dynamic isn't limited to individuals; it can manifest on a global scale between nations.
· The analysis draws a parallel: Just as an individual Pharaoh arose saying "I am your supreme lord," today we witness a social/global Pharaoh – a powerful entity (like the United States is presented as an example) that seeks to dominate the world, declaring itself the "custodian of the world" and employing similar divisive and oppressive strategies.
This is a timeless lesson: The path to tyranny begins with arrogance and is built upon sowing discord. Preserving unity and rejecting oppression are essential for any society's dignity and salvation.

🔸 Was It the People’s Fault—or the Fault of Pharaoh’s Government? 🔸
🔹 Ayatollah Haeri Shirazi 🔹
Consider this verse:
Pharaoh belittled and humiliated his own people, and as a result, they obeyed him and submitted to him. Indeed, Pharaoh’s people were a rebellious and disobedient people.
What is remarkable is that God directs the blame and the sharp edge of criticism toward those who obeyed and followed, rather than toward Pharaoh himself.
God could have said: “Pharaoh was rebellious, tyrannical, or power-hungry.” But instead, He says:
🔹 The roots of obedience to a tyrant are thus traced to the lack of commitment among the people who follow and submit to him.
This is an important point: when it comes to the fate of regimes and governments, the people are presented as the fundamental factor—not the rulers.
The message is that a corrupt ruler rises to power because of corruption within the people, rather than the people becoming corrupt merely because a tyrant has gained power.
In other words:
🔸 This is a precise and thought-provoking analysis. The foundation is not placed in the leader; the foundation is placed in the people.
And the defining quality attributed to the people is not that they are intelligent, clever, or perceptive. Rather, it is their relationship with trust, commitment, loyalty, and keeping their promises.
If a society consists of people who do not honor their commitments, who are not faithful to their word, and who do not stand by what they profess, then such a society creates the conditions for tyrannical and unjust individuals to rise to power.
🔻 Therefore, if you want a nation to reform itself, or if you want those in power to be removed, the first thing you must do is strengthen the roots of commitment and responsible character among the people.
For opposite fāsiq—the one who abandons moral commitment—stand the committed, faithful, and trustworthy person.
✨ If a society is to change, its people must first be cultivated in commitment, loyalty, and trustworthiness.
