📜 The Cultural History of the “Cursed Tribe” – Part III: Moses (PBUH) and the Deliverance of the Israelites Source: JS Center – Israelite History 🔗 https://jscenter.ir/jewish-history/israelites/10472 🌍 From Prosperity to Slavery After the death of Prophet…
But Pharaoh, blinded by arrogance and upheld by a priesthood steeped in sorcery, accused Moses of being a magician:

“This is but a skilled sorcerer who wishes to drive you from your land by his magic.”
(Qur’an 26:34–35)

Pharaoh challenged him to a contest, summoning his finest sorcerers. The appointed day arrived — a grand public confrontation.

The magicians cast their ropes and staffs, and by their illusion, they appeared as writhing serpents. Even Moses felt fear, but God reassured him:

“Do not fear, for you are the superior one. Cast down what is in your right hand; it will swallow up what they have made. What they have made is but a magician’s trick — and the magician will never succeed.”
(Qur’an 20:68–69)

When Moses cast his staff, it devoured their illusions. The sorcerers fell in prostration, declaring:

“We believe in the Lord of Moses and Aaron.”

Pharaoh was humiliated. Out of fury, he accused his magicians of conspiring with Moses — yet his empire had witnessed the undeniable truth.

🚶‍♂️ The Exodus Begins

From that moment, Moses began preparing his people for the Great Exodus — a divine migration from bondage to freedom, from the darkness of Pharaoh’s tyranny to the light of the Promised Land.

His mission was no longer just to confront Pharaoh, but to organize and uplift a people long broken by servitude, to restore faith, and to lead them toward divine destiny.

In a state of profound spiritual exaltation, the Israelites followed Moses into the desert of Sinai — unaware that their true journey had only begun. It was here, in the silence of the wilderness, that they would come to understand their divine destiny and the purpose of their deliverance.

Yet, moments of doubt still shadowed them. Some hearts wavered, but Moses stood unwavering, his faith unshaken.

“Indeed, my Lord is with me, and He will guide me.”
(Qur’an 26:62)

☠️ The End of Pharaoh

As the last Israelite stepped onto dry ground, and the last chariot of Pharaoh entered the seabed, God’s command came. The waters surged back — crashing over Pharaoh and his hosts.

“We saved Moses and those with him,
and drowned the others completely.”
(Qur’an 26:65–66)

Thus ended the mightiest empire of arrogance, and thus began the destiny of a nation once enslaved — a people now bound by covenant to their Lord.

🕊 The Exodus was not merely an escape — it was a transformation.
From bondage to belief, from fear to faith, from Pharaoh to freedom.

🐂 The Golden Calf of the Samaritan — A Test of Faith and Deception
https://jscenter.ir/jewish-history/israelites/10529

In the annals of ancient faith, few stories reveal the human struggle between truth and illusion as deeply as the episode of the Golden Calf.

During the time of Prophet Moses (peace be upon him), a man known as the Samaritan (as-Sāmirī) emerged — a mysterious figure of spiritual knowledge and dark arts. His real name, according to early traditions, was Mūsā ibn Zafar, a man from the land of ‘Iraq who once believed in Moses but later became the source of one of the greatest trials of the Israelites.

When Moses went to Mount Sinai (Ṭūr Sīnā’) to receive the divine revelation for forty nights, he appointed his brother Aaron (Hārūn) as his deputy among the people. Yet during his absence, the Samaritan gathered the gold ornaments of the Israelites — remnants from Egypt — and molded them into a golden calf.

The Qur’an narrates:

“Then he produced for them a calf — a lifeless body that made a sound. And they said, ‘This is your god and the god of Moses, but he forgot.’”
(Surah Ṭā Hā, 20:88)

How could a lifeless image captivate a people who had witnessed the miracles of the Red Sea, the staff turning into a serpent, and the downfall of Pharaoh?
The Samaritan’s deception went beyond mere craftsmanship. He was a man of unusual spiritual perception — claiming to have seen what others could not. He said:

“I perceived what they did not perceive; so I took a handful from the trace of the Messenger (Gabriel) and threw it into the calf.”
(Surah Ṭā Hā, 20:96)

That mysterious “handful of dust” — taken from the path of the angel Gabriel — symbolized his misuse of divine signs for deception. Through a form of forbidden occult knowledge, he infused illusion with a spark of vitality, making the golden idol emit a sound that astonished the crowd.

Many classical scholars interpreted this as a form of spiritual manipulation, not merely physical trickery. The Samaritan, familiar with hidden sciences and the psychology of idol worship, understood how to blend mysticism, spectacle, and lies to test the faith of an unsteady nation.

But behind his scheme was something even greater: a divine test.
God allowed this event as a trial to distinguish the faithful from the deceived — a pattern that repeats throughout human history.

“Indeed, We have tested your people after you, and the Samaritan has led them astray.”
(Surah Ṭā Hā, 20:85)

When Moses returned, he confronted his people in anger, saying:

“O my people! Did your Lord not make you a good promise? Did the time feel too long for you? Or did you wish that the wrath of your Lord descend upon you, so you broke your promise to me?”
(Surah Ṭā Hā, 20:86)

The Samaritan was then cast out — condemned to isolation and spiritual exile, destined to say, “Do not touch me,” as a sign of divine rejection (20:97).

This episode teaches us a timeless truth:
Even a nation that saw miracles can fall into worshiping illusions when they lose patience, when they let curiosity replace faith, and when they let eloquent deceivers redefine “God” in their own image.

💫 Lesson:
Every age has its “golden calf” — an idol made not of gold, but of ideology, technology, or ego — shaped by modern Samaritans who seduce hearts through glittering falsehoods.

“Do not let your wealth and children distract you from the remembrance of Allah. Whoever does so — it is they who are the losers.”
(Surah al-Munāfiqūn, 63:9)

🌅 The Departure of Moses (AS) and the Beginning of Israel’s Deviation
🕎 The Cursed Tribe — Part VI: The Forty Years of Wandering in the Desert
https://jscenter.ir/jewish-history/israelites/10557

After long years of divine struggle and miracles, Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) led the Children of Israel to the threshold of the Promised Land — Canaan. Yet, despite witnessing countless signs of God’s power, they refused to fight in the cause of God and enter the land that was promised to them.

Out of fear, rebellion, and spiritual weakness, they said to their prophet:

“Go, you and your Lord, and fight. We will sit here.” (cf. Qur’an 5:24)

Moses, heartbroken by their disobedience, prayed:

“My Lord, I have power only over myself and my brother; so separate us from the defiantly disobedient people.”
(Surah al-Ma’idah, 5:25)

God responded to this prayer with a severe decree:

“Then the land will surely be forbidden to them for forty years; they will wander aimlessly throughout the earth. So do not grieve over the defiantly disobedient people.”
(Surah al-Ma’idah, 5:26)

🌵 Thus began the forty years of bewilderment in the desert of Sinai, a divine punishment that caused a whole generation to perish before they could reach the Promised Land. Even though Moses remained among them, his guidance could not benefit a nation lost in disobedience and arrogance.

During these years, their sustenance came miraculously: clouds shaded them, heavenly food — manna and quails — descended upon them, and twelve springs burst forth from stone. Yet their hearts remained hardened. When Moses (AS) finally passed away, his resting place remained unknown — a symbol of a nation that had lost its spiritual direction even while surrounded by divine mercy.

⚖️ After Moses, Joshua ibn Nun (AS) succeeded him, leading the next generation of Israelites across the Jordan River. With divine support, they entered Jericho and began their conquest of the Promised Land. But soon after Joshua’s passing, unity dissolved.
Tribal divisions deepened, idol worship returned, and the people mixed the pure worship of God with pagan rituals — worshipping Baal and Astarte alongside the Lord of Heaven.

Their spiritual decline continued through the era of judges and prophets until they demanded a king — Saul (Ṭālūt) — and later followed David (Dāwūd) and Solomon (Sulaymān), whose reigns represented their last age of divine favor. After Solomon’s death, the kingdom split into two rival states — Israel in the north and Judah in the south — setting the stage for their long history of corruption, conquest, and exile.

📜 The Qur’an summarizes their tragic journey in one verse — a timeless warning to all nations:

“Ask the Children of Israel how many clear signs We gave them. But whoever changes God’s favor after it has come to him — indeed, Allah is severe in penalty.”
(Surah al-Baqarah, 2:211)

They saw the sea split, Pharaoh drown, the mountain raised above them, and heavenly food descend — yet they replaced divine truth with rebellion and pride. The covenant was broken, the faith corrupted, and thus began the long road of deviation that history remembers as the “Curse of the Tribe.”

📜 The Origin and History of the Torah – A Scholarly Inquiry Source: https://jscenter.ir/jewish-studies/jewish-bibliography/7211 --- 🔍 Introduction The Torah, the first and most important part of the Old Testament, consists of five books: Genesis, Exodus…
What is clear is that the Torah — whether viewed as heavenly scripture or historical document — has profoundly shaped Jewish, Christian, and Western consciousness.

Understanding its complex history invites us to reflect on how sacred texts are transmitted, preserved, and interpreted across time.
