🎼🎸🔥18 June 1967. One of the most iconic photos of the entire XX century (and not just in music I'd say) is shot at Monterey International Pop Music Festival☝️
The Who had just concluded one of their devastating shows (they used to destroy instruments at the end) when a young and at the time little known #guitarist was introduced to the audience on stage by Rolling Stone's #BrianJones: he was of course #JimiHendrix!
I'm sure he just wanted to shock the public (and somehow imitate The Who) when he set his guitar afire after playing a memorable version of "Wild Thing"... but the thing he was probably not aware of, is that this picture would become forever an immortal symbol of Rock'n'Roll ! #18June
Thank You Jimi 🔥❤️

75 years ago, #18June 1948 Columbia Records company introduced the Long Playing "microgroove" LP record format (soon abbreviated and worldwide referred as "LP"), which rotated at 33⅓ revolutions per minute, and completely subtituted the old 78 RPM records.
Nathan Milstein, performing the Mendelssohn violin concerto, was the first album produced.
"33" became the standard for the gramophone records for forty years... and still today is for those musicians and bands who issue their music on Vinyl !

🎥🎼 #18June 1984.
40 years ago Madonna came to Venice for a couple of days to film the videoclip of her upcoming single Like A Virgin.
#Madonna was already big in the USA, after this song and video she became the greatest international female superstar⭐️
This is the first music videoclip filmed in Venice: with an initial budget of 150.000$, the production brought a real lion 🦁 in town, that can be seen in the video wandering around the ancient columns of the Doge's Palace.
The presence of the lion was an intentional tribute to Venice and the 👉 Lion of St. Mark.
Main spots in this video are Ca' Zenobio Degli Armeni (indoor shootings), Bridge Of Sighs, Bacino Orseolo, Rialto Mercato and Ca' D'Oro areas, and of course Madonna's Gondola ride through the Canals and Bridges (sometimes with unaware people on top) which is the "main theme" of the video.
Needless to say, this videoclip was also a tremendous spot for the city, in times where globalization, low cost transportations and mass tourism were unknown 🗺
