Black Sabbath
📀 Master Of Reality
#HeavyMetal
55 years ago Black Sabbath from Birmingham, England #UK, released their 3rd studio album.
For this album Iommi and Butler downtuned their instruments, achieving what Iommi called a "bigger, heavier sound"🤘
For this reason Master Of Reality is not only considered a Heavy Metal milestone, also the forefather of #StonerRock / #SludgeMetal.
The album begins with a tape loop of Tony Iommi coughing from a joint he was smoking with Ozzy Osbourne, perfect introduction to the opener "Sweet Leaf", an overt ode to marjuana.
The proto speed metal "After Forever", the anthem "Children Of The Grave", the stunning psychedelic walz "Solitude", the final stoner "Into The Void"...
Essential #BlackSabbath, total masterpiece ❤️🔥
In this album:
#OzzyOsbourne – vocals
#TonyIommi – guitars, synthesiser, flute, piano
#GeezerButler – bass
#BillWard – drums, percussion, sleighbells
