The Mars Volta
📀 De-Loused In The Comatorium
#ProgressiveRock #ExperimentalRock #PsychedelicRock #PostHardcore
20 years ago The Mars Volta from El Paso, Texas #USA released their debut studio album.
De-Loused In The Comatorium recieved immediate praise and critical acclaim and it's to date the #MarsVolta best selling album.
A concept on Cerpin Taxt, a man who enters a week-long coma after overdosing, it's the only album to feature founding member Jeremy Ward, who died in fact after overdosing one month earlier the release.
Fantastic album!
In this album:
#CedricBixlerZavala – vocals
#OmarRodríguezLópez – guitar, bass
#JonTheodore – drums
#IsaiahOwens "Ikey" – keyboards
#Flea – bass
#JeremyWard – effects and sound manipulation
Additional Musicians

#JohnFrusciante – additional guitar and synthesizer treatment
#JustinMeldalJohnsen – standup bass

Jane's Addiction
📀 Nothing's Shocking
#HardRock #AlternativeRock #AlternativeMetal
35 years ago Jane's Addiction from Los Angeles, #USA, released their debut studio album.
#JanesAddiction had a cult following at the time, most of the songs in Nothing's Shocking were already known by their fan base (the band's previous 1987 realease was in fact a legendary and one of my all time favorite live recording).
That's partly why this album became the first labeled as Alternative Rock / Metal to gain huge commercial success selling 1million in the US only !
The single "Jane Says" (inspired, as the band's name, by Perry Farrel's housemate Jane) became their signature song.
Fantastic album ❤️🔥🤘
In this album:
#PerryFarrell – vocals, piano
#DaveNavarro – guitar
#EricAvery – bass, acoustic guitar
#StephenPerkins – drums
Additional musicians
#AngeloMoore – sax
#Flea – trumpet
#ChristopherDowd – trombone
