The Mars Volta
πŸ“€ De-Loused In The Comatorium
#ProgressiveRock #ExperimentalRock #PsychedelicRock #PostHardcore

20 years ago The Mars Volta from El Paso, Texas #USA released their debut studio album.

De-Loused In The Comatorium recieved immediate praise and critical acclaim and it's to date the #MarsVolta best selling album.

A concept on Cerpin Taxt, a man who enters a week-long coma after overdosing, it's the only album to feature founding member Jeremy Ward, who died in fact after overdosing one month earlier the release.

Fantastic album!

In this album:
#CedricBixlerZavala β€“ vocals
#OmarRodrΓguezLΓ³pez β€“ guitar, bass
#JonTheodore β€“ drums
#IsaiahOwens "Ikey"  β€“ keyboards
#Flea β€“ bass
#JeremyWard β€“ effects and sound manipulation

Additional Musicians

Faith No More
πŸ“€ King for a Day... Fool for a Lifetime
#AlternativeMetal #AvantGardeMetal #FunkMetal #PostHardcore #ExperimentalRock #AlternativeRock #ArtRock

30 years ago Faith No More from San Francisco, #USA released their 5th studio album.

King for a Day was the band's first album without longtime guitarist Jim Martin (who left after recording the previous
πŸ‘‰ Angel Dust), here replaced by Trey Spruance brought in from Mr. Bungle.

In this album #FaithNoMore showcased a variety of musical genres, some say too many and consider the album too confusing, some, like me, consider it a masterpiece🀘

Big Black
πŸ“€ Atomizer
#PostHardcore #NoiseRock #IndustrialRock

40 years ago Big Black from Illinois, #USA released their debut studio album.

Started as a solo project by Steve Albini in 1981, #BigBlack are widely regarded as forerunners of Industrial Rock.
Albini and his friend #IainBurgess (who co-produced Atomizer) are key figures for shaping the Alternative sound of late 1980s and 1990s as producers and engineers (Industrial, Noise, Grunge...).

Nirvana, Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, Jesus Lizard, PJ Harvey, The Prodigy (yes!)... you can hear them all in here, seminal and (alternatively) crucial πŸ”₯

In this album:
#SteveAlbini β€“ guitar, vocals, drum machine programming
#SantiagoDurango β€“ guitar
#DaveRiley β€“ bass
