🎼2 March, 1942 Lou Reed was born in New York City. "Not a great singer, not a great guitarist" but for sure one of the greatest ARTISTS of the 20th Century!
Here's a rare photo of him in Venice when he came to play at #TeatroMalibran, the ancient house of #MarcoPolo, near #Rialto bridge: it was in 2002 and half of the audience left the concert because it was too loud, cacophonic, violent and senseless🙉🤯😱... maybe some of them were unaware that he was about to play his 1975 album "Metal Machine Music" in its entirety... the album was withdrawn from the market by his record company at the time, because it was just made of "noises" and guitar distortions...
In the Chat Room👇 I post 1 of my favorite #LouReed songs and 1 of my favorite #VelvetUnderground songs 🎸🎸 You can post yours! 😃🤟

🎼17 December 1971. 50 years ago David Bowie releases one of his absolute art rock masterpieces: his fourth studio album Hunky Dory, which Bowie partly dedicates to 3 American legends of the time: #AndyWarhol, #BobDylan, #LouReed.
It's also the first Bowie album in which amazing #guitarist Mick Ronson 🎸and #keyboardist Rick Wakeman 🎹(who will soon join #Yes) appear.
In the Chat Room👇 the link for listening to the entire album, I'm sure everyone can recognize some of its iconic songs like "Changes" or "Life on Mars" 🤟

50 years ago Lou Reed from New York City, #USA released his 2nd studio album Transformer.

After the poor commercial success of his debut, Transformer marked Reed's breakthrough and is considered a landmark for the whole Glam Rock history.

Again, as often happended for many in the seventies, it was thanks to the genius of David Bowie, who was a fan of The Velvet Underground!
Bowie called Reed to record his album in London and produced and promoted it along with his guitarist Mick Ronson.

Transformer contains signature songs: "Vicious", "Walk on the Wild Side", "Satellite of Love", "Perfect Day".
Milestone!

In this album:
#LouReed – vocals, guitar
#MickRonson – lead guitar, piano, strings arr.
