☝️Rumble (1958)☝️

"Best instrumental ever"
- #BobDylan

"When I first heard this at student union I left school emotionally and started a music career"
- #IggyPop

This song has been used in epic scenes of defiance in uncountable movies and series, some of them are: Top Gear, Blow, The Warriors, Indipendence Day, Pulp Fiction...

"Rumble" is the only instrumental song ever banned from radio airplay (afraid that it would lead to social unrest among the youngsters and to gang fights).

🎼27 November 1970. George Harrison releases his masterpiece, his third studio album (the first after the #Beatles break-up) entitled All Things Must Pass: it's a huge work (a triple album in fact) where #GeorgeHarrison releases all his spirituality, his tremendous songwriting and his trademark slide guitar sound 🎸
Major artists appear as musicians and/or co-writers in All Things Must Pass, to name a few: #BobDylan, #BillyPreston, #GaryWright, #RingoStarr, #DaveMason, #PeterFrampton, the entire band of #Badfinger and Harrison's longtime friend #EricClapton 🤟

Here's the most famous and best selling song from the album, I'm sure everyone heard it at some point: "My Sweet Lord". It's also the most controversial song for 2 reasons:
1- Harrison was engaged in an endless lawsuit for copyright infringement by American songwriter Ronnie Mack who in 1963 had a n.1 hit called "He's So Fine". Harrison always claimed he never realized that and even offered huge compensation on "My Sweet Lord" sales.
2- Most people think the song is a prayer to God, it is a sarcastic invitation to abandon religious sectarianism instead! Harrison had embraced Hindu belief years earlier when tavelling to India, and in the song we can hear the typical "Hare Krishna" chant.

🎼17 December 1971. 50 years ago David Bowie releases one of his absolute art rock masterpieces: his fourth studio album Hunky Dory, which Bowie partly dedicates to 3 American legends of the time: #AndyWarhol, #BobDylan, #LouReed.
It's also the first Bowie album in which amazing #guitarist Mick Ronson 🎸and #keyboardist Rick Wakeman 🎹(who will soon join #Yes) appear.
In the Chat Room👇 the link for listening to the entire album, I'm sure everyone can recognize some of its iconic songs like "Changes" or "Life on Mars" 🤟
