📸📜 I am passing on the #GrandCanal and just took this picture of Ca' Vendramin Calergi in all its splendour☀️🤩
This 1500 palace is the actual home to the Venice Casino!
Did you know that the first #Casino in history opened in Venice? 🎲💰💸
Again, as happened for 👉 Carnival, Venice aimed to distinguish itself from the rest of the world... and attract visitors!
Gambling and gaming were illegal for ages everywhere in the world. In 1638 the first legal gambling house openend in Venice and became known as Ridotto di San Moisè: it stayed there for centuries before being transferred to Venice #Lido from 1938 until 1990s.
Today Ca' Vendramin Calergi hosts the oldest Casino in the world and a small Museum dedicated to one of the all time greatest classical composers, whose music is considered a big influence on Neoclassical Symphonic Rock and Metal (#JimSteinman, #Manowar ...):
Richard Wagner who lived and passed away in Ca' Vendramin Calergi on 13 February 1883 🙏

📀 Sign Of The Hammer
#HeavyMetal #PowerMetal #EpicMetal
40 years ago Manowar from New York, #USA released their 4th studio album.
Sign Of The Hammer came out few months later 👉 Hail To England, it was my first #Manowar back in the days and still today my favorite from them🤘
In particular the power ballad "Mountains" and "Guyana (Cult Of The Damned)" about the 1978 mass suicide of the People's Temple group, are IMHO the most amazing compositions in Manowar career, and the most epic vocals by Eric Adams ❤️🔥
My original cassette still plays loud in #VeniceRocksRoom☝️
In this album:
#EricAdams – vocals
#RosstheBoss – guitars, keyboards
#JoeyDeMaio – bass, bass pedals
#ScottColumbus – drums, percussion
