55 years ago Steppenwolf from Los Angeles, #USA released their self-titled debut studio album.
#Steppenwolf was a great commercial success in the years, mainly thanks to its iconic songs "Born To Be Wild" and "The Pusher" which served as soundtrack to the 1969 milestone Easy Rider!
If some days earlier 👉 Blue Cheer released perhaps the first Heavy Metal album, in Steppenwolf the term "Heavy Metal" was first used in a song (again "Born To Be Wild", one of the most covered songs ever) 🤘
This album also contains a cover of #MuddyWaters "Hoochie Coochie Man".
In this album:
#JohnKay – lead vocals, guitar, harmonica
#MichaelMonarch – guitars, backing vocals
#GoldyMcJohn – Hammond organ, piano, Wurlitzer electric piano
#RushtonMoreve – bass, backing vocals
#JerryEdmonton – drums, backing vocals
