📀 Metal Rock
40 years ago Vanadium, one of the first Heavy Metal bands in #Italy (formed in 1980 in Milan) released their debut studio album.
Metal Rock is possibly the first #HeavyMetal full-lenght album in the country!
Its naif title, its rough production and sound, the incorrect English spelling of titles, lyrics and diction by vocalist Pino Scotto (who still today is a legendary and controversial figure in the #ItalianMetal scene), all contribute to depict what it was like in those pioneering years!
The 30 minutes of Metal Rock are made of good tracks with powerful riffs, clearly influenced by #DeepPurple, #UriahHeep and #NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) bands such as #Saxon.
This release paved the way for all the 80s Italian #HardRock movement and gained #Vanadium a good fandom all across Europe, where the opener "We Want Live Rock 'n Roll" was also issued as a single and where the band extensively toured.

The Son Of Odin is widely considered not only a hidden gem of that British movement, but one of the best Power Metal albums of the 1980s🤘
