🎼 1955, Rock'n'Roll is Here To Stay
1955 was a crucial year for Rock'n'Roll music. 👉 Rock Around The Clock, released the previous year, became a worldwide hit in January 1955, paving the way for Rock'n'Roll music constant presence in the Top 40 US radio charts: the 1955 charts started to witness the mix between the so called Parents' Music (represented by traditional Jazz and the likes of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Doris Day, Perry Como...) and Teens' Music (represented by R&B, Doo-Wop, Bluegrass and of course Rock'n'Roll artists).
Starting from May 1955 a series of events defined Rock'n'Roll as the new music phenomenon:
- #FatsDomino 👉 Ain't That a Shame (soon 👉 covered by white teen idol #PatBoone) and #RayCharles 👉 I Got a Woman went to n.1
- #BoDiddley was the first R&B/R'n'R artist in history to 👉 appear on US National TV hosted by legendary Ed Sullivan's show.
- #ChuckBerry and #LittleRichard released their first singles,
👉 Maybellene and 👉 Tutti Frutti respectively.

60 years ago John Mayall from Cheshire, #UK released his debut studio album.
John Mayall was a key figure of the 👉 British Blues movement since late 1950s. He focused on live activity and on the growth of Blues music in Britain.
When Eric Clapton left 👉 the Yardbirds the both agreed he was the perfect guitarist to join Mayall's band.
The album contains 5 original songs and covers of #OtisRush, #FreddieKing, #RayCharles, #MoseAllison, #RobertJohnson, #MemphisSlim, #LittleWalter.
It is unanimously considered the quintessence of British Blues and one of the all time best Rock Blues albums!
