š¼23 March 1956. The revolution started here. Elvis Presley releases his first and eponymous album which goes straight up to #1 in the Billboard sales! It was the first time ever a Rock'n'Roll album peaked the USA charts. š¤šøš
Rock'n'Roll as a music genre was already around before that, thanks to artists such as #LittleRichard, #ChuckBerry, #MuddyWaters, #GeneVincent, #BillHaley, #BuddyHolly and many more... but problably the new born "industry" needed and was eagerly waiting for a white, unspoiled, handsome and heterosexual guy to take rock'n'roll out of its niche and make it explode š£š„ š„
Elvis was everything perfect and met all the expectations for that moment, the boy all girls wanted, the son-in-law all mothers wanted, plus he was a really nice person and a natural born showman. He soon became The King of Rock'n Roll and the first international Rockstar!
I post a video of him on The Ed Sullivan Show some months later: USA (and the world) had never witnessed such a delirium in a live national TV program, we can hardly hear the music (Hound Dog from his first album) under the screams š³š£š£

š¼55 years ago, 1966 (!!!) #FrankZappa released his first studio album, Freak Out, along with his band The Mothers Of Invention.
Rock'n'Roll music was born only few years earlier and was still evolving, pioneers like #ElvisPresley, #LittleRichard, #ChuckBerry were still hitting the charts, #Beatles and #RollingStones were at the peak of their popularity, #JimiHendrix was non yet around, Prog Rock was far from coming... how could the world be ready in 1966 for such an innovative, uncompromising music composition and approach, harsh lyrics and virulent satire!?! š³
Freak Out, like all Zappa's works which followed, was simply out of time and would probably be far ahead even today!

š¼5 December 1932. Looks like a day of Legends šš¤
Little Richard was born Richard Wayne Penniman in Macon, Georgia, USA.
He was one of the first Rock'n'Roll pioneers and protagonists in middle/late 1950s... the first one according to him! š
One thing is certain (and enough for me and for many!): he was crucial in discovering and promoting a young talented guitarist šø who joined his band in middle 1960s, #JimiHendrix ā¤ļøāš„
But let #LittleRichard himself speak his mind, life and r'n'r #MusicHistory point of view in one of the best interview "performances" ever!šš

š¼ 1955, Rock'n'Roll is Here To Stay
1955 was a crucial year for Rock'n'Roll music. š Rock Around The Clock, released the previous year, became a worldwide hit in January 1955, paving the way for Rock'n'Roll music constant presence in the Top 40 US radio charts: the 1955 charts started to witness the mix between the so called Parents' Music (represented by traditional Jazz and the likes of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Doris Day, Perry Como...) and Teens' Music (represented by R&B, Doo-Wop, Bluegrass and of course Rock'n'Roll artists).
Starting from May 1955 a series of events defined Rock'n'Roll as the new music phenomenon:
- #FatsDomino š Ain't That a Shame (soon š covered by white teen idol #PatBoone) and #RayCharles š I Got a Woman went to n.1
- #BoDiddley was the first R&B/R'n'R artist in history to š appear on US National TV hosted by legendary Ed Sullivan's show.
- #ChuckBerry and #LittleRichard released their first singles,
š Maybellene and š Tutti Frutti respectively.

š¼ Chuck Berry & Little Richard
Two eternal rivals and (later) 2 big friends who shaped and defined Rock'n'Roll forever in the 1950s: that's what Chuck Berry and Little Richard have been and the entire Rock'n'Roll scene has always praised and paid tribute to these 2 legendary pioneers.
#ChuckBerry (October 18, 1926 ā March 18, 2017), the first R&B/RnR musician who focused mainly on guitar solos and stage performance instead on just singing, the inventor of the guitar Duckwalk during his "Johnny B. Goode"!
š§š Here's some essential Chuck Berry
#LittleRichard (December 5, 1932 ā May 9, 2020), his shouted "A-wop-bop-a-loo-mop-a-lop-bam-boom!" introducing his first hit single "Tutti Frutti" is probably the best and most widespread verbal rendition of what Rock'n'Roll is!
