🇺🇸🇸🇦New satellite imagery reveals a massive expansion of the US Army's logistics zone in Yanbu, #Saudi_Arabia, at the L.S.A. Jenkins base — EGYOSINT.

Since the beginning of last year, bunkers, ammunition depots, new logistics and support infrastructure have been added to the facility, and living quarters for military personnel have been expanded.

L.S.A. Jenkins is located far from the Persian Gulf and Iran's large stockpiles of short-range missiles.

The expansion of L.S.A. Jenkins began prior to the 12-day war in June 2025; the facility is intended to replace the Al Udeid Air Base in #Qatar, which is too vulnerable to Iranian attacks.

🇩🇰🇭🇰🇵🇦 Al Jazeera: Danish shipping giant Maersk will temporarily take control of two Panama Canal ports following a court ruling.

This decision came after the court declared the existing contract with Hong Kong's CK Hutchison unconstitutional, under pressure from Trump, who claimed the canal was controlled by #China.

Maersk will replace CK Hutchison, which has operated the ports since 1997. Otherwise, Panama retains control of the canal, through which a significant volume of global trade passes.

🇺🇸🇨🇦 The US is pressuring Canada to complete the purchase of 88 F-35A fighter jets for $14.2 billion, warning that failure to meet this requirement could lead to changes in the North American air defense system.

Canada signed the contract in 2023 but is reviewing the execution of the order after receiving the first 16 aircraft. US Ambassador Pete Hoekstra stated that if Ottawa refuses the purchase, the US will have to deploy more American fighters into Canadian airspace.

The warning comes amid growing political tension between the two countries, including disputes over trade, tariffs, and defense cooperation.

Canada's political leadership is considering the Swedish Gripen fighter as a replacement for the American F-35As, while the military leadership still favors the F-35, citing the reality of American threats.

🇺🇸⚓️ The newest American aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy (CVN 79) has left the Newport News Shipbuilding shipyard in Newport News (Virginia) and entered the open sea for its first sea trials (photo).

CVN-79 is the second in a series of 10 Gerald R. Ford-class ships. The new nuclear-powered aircraft carriers are set to replace the Nimitz-class ships in the US Navy, which have been in service since 1975.

The giant is 337 meters long, with a flight deck width of 78 meters and a full displacement of about 100,000 tons. It is capable of carrying more than 80 aircraft and helicopters. The planned service life is 50 years; it was laid down in August 2015.
