Chronicles of Troubled Times: prologue to WWIII
🇮🇷 #IRAN ⚡️ #NEWS 1/2

🔴 01/15/2026:
A 4.2-magnitude earthquake occurred with its epicenter in the Dead Sea region at a depth of 10 km. The epicenter of the earthquake was near Dimona.

⚡️ The U.S. State Department’s Persian account on X reported: "During the protests, the Iranian regime used military drones against peaceful protesters."
A total Internet blackout in Iran has been ongoing for over 190 hours. The CIA and its "colleagues" are complaining about communication issues due to Russian Electronic Warfare (EW) blocking Musk’s Starlinks.

It is worth noting in "parentheses" here that the Russians, however, have no issues with Starlinks on the front line — Russian military channels are proudly publishing photos of BM-35 kamikaze drone debris with Starlink on board, citing numerous reports from Ukrainian Telegram channels.
"Yesterday in Ukraine, a Russian BM-35 UAV was shot down while heading to its target using a 'Starlink' satellite receiver," the AZERBAIJANI ARMED FORCES channel was among the first to report.

⏺☠️Meanwhile, as of the morning of January 15, the death toll in the Iranian protests has reached 2,677, with 19,097 people detained — according to a U.S.-based human rights group.

❗️🛰 On the same day, January 15, U.S. satellite activity over Iran increased sharply. US satellites were most active in filming western regions, where air defense and missile force concentrations became priority targets.
Three destroyers from the carrier strike group led by the "Lincoln" are already concentrated in the region. This was reported by major Russian military channels (Rybar and others).

➡️🇮🇷 Satellite imagery shows restoration work underway on a building linked to the zirconium production facility at the ENTC Nuclear Research Center in Isfahan, which was damaged during Israeli and U.S. strikes during Operation "Rising Lion"
(Among other things, this isn't just about a nuclear bomb. Zirconium is essential for the fuel rod cladding of high-temperature reactors.)

⏺However, as tensions between the U.S. and Iran escalate, the Pentagon is moving a carrier strike group toward the Middle East. The aircraft carrier CVN 72 Abraham Lincoln, located west of the Philippines, turned west yesterday, as captured in images from the Copernicus satellite — Russian military channels reported.

⚡️⚡️UPD:
The protests in Iran have been almost completely suppressed. While the "president of the world" was scratching his balls and Hegseth was chewing snot (along with his "analysts"), IRGC and Basij forces were deployed in Iranian cities, Reuters reports.
"Congratulations" to all the "analysts" on yet another total failure. Special congratulations to Hegseth!

Sunday Digest: Earth and Space

Part 1 🌍 EARTH

#UAE #Russia #Ukraine
⚡️🧠❌🇺🇦🇷🇺🇺🇸 The meeting between Ukraine, Russia, and the US scheduled for today in Abu Dhabi will not take place — Reuters.
Preliminary data suggests the aborted round of negotiations has been rescheduled for February 4-5. Zelensky stated that Kyiv is awaiting additional information from Washington.

#USA #Finance
⚡️🇺🇸🪙 The US Government has shut down again, this time due to funding delays in the House of Representatives.
Congress is expected to return from forced recess on Monday. Meanwhile, Trump has signaled a softening of his deportation policy amidst plummeting popularity ahead of the midterms.

#Economy
📉 Crash in gold and silver prices triggers "panic" in New York's Diamond District — FT.
Recap:
🧱 Global silver prices plunged 36% — a historic anti-record.
🧱 Gold lost 12% — the sharpest drop in over 40 years.
The massive sell-off in global precious metals markets occurred on January 30.

Following in Keir Starmer's footsteps:
⚡️🇷🇺🛩🇨🇳 Former Russian Defense Minister, now Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu, has arrived in Beijing for an official visit — TASS.
Odd detail: For some reason, he flew on an Il-96-400 (RA-96102) belonging to the Russian Aerospace Forces, rather than the government flight detachment.

#USA & #China
⚡️🇺🇸🛞🇨🇳 Ford holds talks with Chinese giant Xiaomi regarding a partnership in the EV sector — FT.

⚡️🇨🇳🇹🇼 Xi Jinping has secured full personal control over the army, removing 5 out of 6 high-ranking generals who could have obstructed him. The last to be purged was Zhang Youxia, accused of espionage for the #USA.
According to WSJ, nothing and no one can now stand in the way of Beijing's plans for a military takeover of Taiwan.

#Middle_East
⚡️🇺🇸🇮🇷 Trump is forced to publicly retreat again.
Sentinel-2 satellite imagery taken a few hours ago shows the aircraft carrier CVN 72 Abraham Lincoln leaving the Sea of Oman and heading back toward the Indian Ocean.

➡️Furthermore, satellite images of the US base at Diego Garcia this morning show no American bombers present at the base.

#Ukraine & #Starlink
⚡️🇺🇦🇺🇸🛰❌🇷🇺 New Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov (in office since Jan 14, 2026) stated that Kyiv, together with SpaceX, has finally managed to restrict unauthorized Starlink terminals in occupied territories — and over the front line.
According to Fedorov, only authorized terminals will now function in Ukraine. All "non-Ukrainian" Starlinks will be disabled. Unverified terminals will be cut off.
We shall see.

⏺Reminder: One of Fedorov's first moves as Defense Minister (Jan 18) was an agreement with #Palantir to create an "advanced AI data center" (Brave1 Dataroom). However, it immediately surfaced that Fedorov had actually signed the contract with Palantir back in May 2023, while still Minister of Digital Transformation.

NUCLEAR MONDAY NEWS

🌍 #Europe
🇸🇪☢️🇬🇧🇫🇷 #Sweden has been in talks with the #UK and #France regarding the development of its own nuclear weapons or their deployment on its territory — since 1968.

🌎 #USA #Middle_East
🇮🇷☢️ ⚔️🇺🇸#Iran is preparing to defend its key nuclear facilities, despite WSJ reports that US airstrikes on Iran are not expected in the immediate future.
However, according to the publication, "the US continues to deploy air defense systems to the region in case of an Iranian response."
This phrase itself sounds quite surreal — a "response" to an "unasked question"? Well, ok.

New imagery released by the Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS) shows:

• Activity at a tunnel in Isfahan

• Renovations of surface buildings in Isfahan and Karaj
(details)

🇺🇸✈️ At least a pair of US Navy EA-18G Growler electronic warfare aircraft deployed to the Middle East on January 30 were equipped with the latest ALQ-249 jamming pods, developed under the Next Generation Jammer program.
The new electronic suppression system replaces the previous ALQ-99 jammers and reached operational capability at the turn of 2024-2025.

Like its predecessor, the cutting-edge ALQ-249 handles the suppression of air defense systems, radars, and communication channels, but with significantly greater efficiency and range. According to Venezuelan military testimonies, the new complexes were used, among other things, to provide aerial electronic cover during the US operation to capture Maduro on January 3.

‼️ #Russia #Kremlin_Gambit
🇷🇺☢️🇮🇷 On January 29, Reuters and other outlets reported (citing TASS and Interfax): "Russia is preparing its personnel at the Bushehr nuclear power plant for evacuation from #Iran."
State corporation Rosatom announced its readiness to evacuate up to 400 Russian specialists from the Bushehr NPP in Iran amid the threat of US military strikes — TRT.
Although this news from official Russian sources was deleted just as quickly as the "nuclear train" story on January 27, it had the effect of a bombshell. As a result, Trump quickly backpedaled, as we reported yesterday.

As is well known to everyone, Rosatom does not build nuclear power plants on credit around the world out of charity (especially in key locations and areas near American military bases, as was once the case in Egypt).

Previously, Likhachev unequivocally warned that "any attack on Bushehr could cause a catastrophe comparable to the Chernobyl accident in 1986."

Now, the CEO of Rosatom has added that a "ban on purchases of Russian nuclear fuel would 'jeopardize' Europe's nuclear safety."

🔴 The most surprising thing here is that on Sunday morning, February 1, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 occurred in the city of Asaluyeh in Bushehr province.
➡️According to the Turkish news agency Anadolu, citing IRNA, the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 18 kilometers (11 miles); tremors were recorded 24 km (15 miles) from Asaluyeh, 32 km (20 miles) from Kushkrar in Hormozgan province, and 45 km (28 miles) from Galehdar in Fars province.

"Coincidence? We don't think so."

❗️🇷🇺☢️🇺🇸The last major nuclear arms control treaty between the US and Russia (New START / SNV-3) expires on February 5, 2026 — the new scheduled date for the final deal in Abu Dhabi.
Key provisions of the treaty included:
● A limit of 1,550 deployed strategic nuclear warheads.
● A limit of 700 deployed delivery systems (ICBMs, SLBMs, and heavy bombers).

🇺🇸🇮🇷 WSJ: Official American sources have informed countries in the region that Trump has still not made a decision on whether to attack Iran.

#Russia issues Ultimatum
🇷🇺🇺🇸 "Russia has handed over proposals to the US to remove barriers to a full recovery of relations between Moscow and Washington" — Russian Foreign Ministry.

MONDAY NEWS

Part 2 (Beginning)

#Russia #China #Ukraine
🇨🇳🤝🚀🇷🇺 China helped Russia triple its production of Iskander-M ballistic missiles between 2023 and 2024, reports the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS).

#USA #Middle_East
🇺🇸🇸🇦New satellite imagery reveals a massive expansion of the US Army's logistics zone in Yanbu, #Saudi_Arabia, at the L.S.A. Jenkins base — EGYOSINT.
Since the beginning of last year, bunkers, ammunition depots, new logistics and support infrastructure have been added to the facility, and living quarters for military personnel have been expanded.

L.S.A. Jenkins is located far from the Persian Gulf and Iran's large stockpiles of short-range missiles.

The expansion of L.S.A. Jenkins began prior to the 12-day war in June 2025; the facility is intended to replace the Al Udeid Air Base in #Qatar, which is too vulnerable to Iranian attacks.

#Panama_Canal
🇩🇰🇭🇰🇵🇦 Al Jazeera: Danish shipping giant Maersk will temporarily take control of two Panama Canal ports following a court ruling.
This decision came after the court declared the existing contract with Hong Kong's CK Hutchison unconstitutional, under pressure from Trump, who claimed the canal was controlled by #China.

Maersk will replace CK Hutchison, which has operated the ports since 1997. Otherwise, Panama retains control of the canal, through which a significant volume of global trade passes.

#USA #Canada #NORAD
🇺🇸🇨🇦 The US is pressuring Canada to complete the purchase of 88 F-35A fighter jets for $14.2 billion, warning that failure to meet this requirement could lead to changes in the North American air defense system.
Canada signed the contract in 2023 but is reviewing the execution of the order after receiving the first 16 aircraft. US Ambassador Pete Hoekstra stated that if Ottawa refuses the purchase, the US will have to deploy more American fighters into Canadian airspace.

The warning comes amid growing political tension between the two countries, including disputes over trade, tariffs, and defense cooperation.

Canada's political leadership is considering the Swedish Gripen fighter as a replacement for the American F-35As, while the military leadership still favors the F-35, citing the reality of American threats.

🇺🇸⚓️ The newest American aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy (CVN 79) has left the Newport News Shipbuilding shipyard in Newport News (Virginia) and entered the open sea for its first sea trials (photo).
CVN-79 is the second in a series of 10 Gerald R. Ford-class ships. The new nuclear-powered aircraft carriers are set to replace the Nimitz-class ships in the US Navy, which have been in service since 1975.

The giant is 337 meters long, with a flight deck width of 78 meters and a full displacement of about 100,000 tons. It is capable of carrying more than 80 aircraft and helicopters. The planned service life is 50 years; it was laid down in August 2015.

❗️🇮🇷🇨🇳An Iranian Boeing 747 cargo plane with tail number EP-SIH is en route to #China.

⚡️🇮🇱🇺🇸 #Israel has requested US approval for freedom of action in #Iran.

🇺🇸🇯🇴🇰🇼🇧🇭🇶🇦The #US is deploying additional THAAD and Patriot missile defense systems to #Jordan, #Kuwait, #Bahrain, and #Qatar.

Axios: Donald Trump is restrained from military action due to the lack of a fully secure digital control infrastructure.
Factors cited include an incomplete satellite network required for real-time coordination of drones and air defense systems by AI agents, and the risk of cyberattacks on ground nodes.

Additionally, concerns exist about a potential "digital boomerang" effect, where an immediate strike could disrupt the Western banking system.

There is also the consideration of market stability for upcoming IPOs of companies like xAI and SpaceX.
