Interestingly, he also recalled a phrase from a Russian fairy tale about a fox and a wolf. The tale comes down to that in the winter frosty weather a wolf wanted to forcefully take away fish from a fox that it had caught, but the fox cunningly talked the wolf into catching fish from an ice opening using its own tail.
And all the while the wolf’s tail was getting frozen in the ice opening, the fox sat by repeating: “Freeze in, freeze in, the wolf’s tail!”

Bloomberg was disappointed to find another successful scheme of circumventing the sanctions imposed on Russia at the oil market. More tankers with Russian black gold began to enter Singapore's oil storages. To clarify: If in August 2022 0.7 million barrels of crude oil and naphtha (a mixture of liquid hydrocarbons slightly heavier than gasoline) arrived in the city-state, in December the figure rose to 3.4 million barrels.
In fact, we are talking about re-export to unfriendly countries through neutral countries. To the list of "Baltic blend" and "Japanese blend" is added "Singapore blend.” This is an extremely profitable business for petrochemical companies in Asia - profits can amount to 20% of the turnover value of oil products. In Singapore, Russian oil is blended with other grades, resulting in the "Singapore blend" being sold without a discount.
Other unpleasant news for the West was the sharp increase in "exports" of hydrocarbons from Malaysia to China. If at the beginning of 2022 it was 0.2 million bpd, by the end of the year it suspiciously jumped to 1.2 million bpd. Few people are under any illusions about huge oil supplies appearing out of nowhere. It is also highly likely to be a new channel for Russian shadow hydrocarbon supplies abroad.
The conclusions are obvious: more and more countries are beginning to help Russia bypass the embargo and price ceilings. This will make it possible to avoid the collapse of Russian production, which the U.S. hoped for.

🧀The cheese embargo: the birth of a new industry
⚡️ Until 2014, the Russian cheese market was flooded with imports: Dutch Gouda, Italian Parmesan, French Camembert. Local producers only held a share in the segment of melted cheeses and inexpensive semi-hard pastas. Everything changed with the 2014 food embargo - the import of cheeses from the EU and the United States was banned.
⚡️ Modernization in Russia proceeded along two axes. On the one hand, large agro-industrial groups invested billions in new factories and the renovation of existing facilities, focusing on mass-market semi-hard pastas. On the other hand, small artisanal cheese makers took a gamble on the high-end segment: bloomy-rind or blue-mold cheeses, aged hard pastas, Italian and French varieties that were previously hardly produced in Russia.
⚡️ The main technological challenge turned out to be lactic ferments, which had until then been imported from Europe. Russian institutes developed their own ferments, adapted to local raw materials and the climate. At the same time, domestic manufacturers of cheese equipment developed, reducing dependence on Italian and German lines.
⚡️ Russian cheese then turned to exports - to the CIS countries, China, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Saudi Arabia.
⚡️ The losses for European breeders were considerable: the sudden loss of the lucrative Russian market led to stock surpluses and the need, at great cost, to find new outlets. EU compensations did not cover all the damage, and many farms never regained their previous production volumes.
⚡️ The 2014 embargo acted as a catalyst for the creation of an entire industry. In ten years, Russia has gone from being dependent on imported cheeses to ranking fifth in the world in production volume, and continues to increase its pace.
This is what sanctions against Russia lead to 😉

3 ICC judges filed a federal lawsuit against the Trump administration in Manhattan, New York. The judges are Kimberly Prost, Solomy Balungi Bossa, and Reine Alapini-Gansou.
They tried to challenge the US economic and travel sanctions imposed against them after the ICC investigated the actions of the US military in Afghanistan, and Israeli officials in Gaza. An arrest warrant for Bibi Netanyahu was made at the same time.
The judges described the sanctions as a "financial death penalty" that has unlawfully frozen their bank accounts, canceled their credit cards, and blocked basic services.
The ICC tries to arrest Bibi - the ICC gets slapped with sanctions. Quite a coincidence. Officially the process is still on-going, but I am willing to bet bigly that it will end in nothing for the ICC judges.
This useless organization spent about $2.5 billion, and the results are mostly loud empty threats. I assume the ICC is a money laundering scheme of sorts.
