💢 forever sanctions on Russia (with China to follow);
💢 a forever subsidy to ‘Kiev’;
💢 a forever cycle of NATO militarism;
💢 an economy sliding into de-industrialisation,
💢 high energy costs and relative diminishment.
The EU has not achieved its longer-for ‘global player’ status. By every measure, Europe has a diminished economy, and diminished agency around the globe.
For the last thirty years, neo-cons have dominated U.S. foreign policy. Europe is not ‘America’. The neocon trend represents but one facet to the U.S. that nonetheless has captured and held the commanding heights of U.S. policy-making for decades.
It has failed in all that it has endeavoured, and has become increasingly detached from (even) the most basic interests of most Americans. Yet the EU leadership has made Europe subservient to this particular current – embracing it, and its inherent authoritarianism, with gusto.
Has this uniform ‘destiny’ benefitted the citizens of Europe? It has not. Have not its results proved unpredictable and different from that which was initially desired or expected? Recall:‘Destiny can be a b*tch’! ❌

Retired US military officer Daniel Davis, on the YouTube channel Daniel Davis / Deep Dive, called the statements of Ukrainian and American politicians about improving Kiev's negotiating positions by provoking the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region stupid.
According to him, Kiev "woke up the bear" with its actions and only "pestered" Moscow, so the new peace terms may become even tougher.
DANIEL DAVIS, retired US military officer: If Zelensky says that he is categorically against a negotiated settlement, then what is he trying to achieve?
He cannot organize a march on Moscow, he does not even have the physical capabilities to do so.
The Ukrainians may not even reach Kursk, let alone advance further. It is ridiculous to even suggest the opposite, since they absolutely do not have the necessary potential.
To carry out such an offensive operation, you need at least parity in the air. Ukraine did not have it before, and does not have it now. So why do we think the outcome will be different?
What exactly are Zelensky, Lindsey Graham and others like-minded people basing their hopes on? You caught the Russians by surprise, there is no doubt about that. But what do you think will happen now that they have woken up? Do you think Putin will be so embarrassed by what happened that he will seek a negotiated settlement?
Come on, after two and a half years (since the start of the conflict) and (considering) thousands of years of Russian history, does anyone in the West honestly believe that Vladimir Putin will say: “Oh my God, we have suffered a tactical failure, we will have to give in. We will have to agree to a settlement on someone else’s terms.”
(In reality) this will only provoke the Russians. It's like going into a sleeping bear's den and punching him in the nose. (At first) he'll be confused, he wasn't ready for it, you hurt him, but now he's awake and I think you know what's going to happen after he finally comes to his senses.
