According to the author of the article, the White House's refusal to wage a full-scale trade war with China and ongoing negotiations with India reduce the likelihood of serious restrictions against Russia. These two countries buy a significant portion of Russian oil.
As for Trump's own plans, they are difficult to predict. Well, attention should be paid to real actions, not to words in the media.

How British private military companies tried to seize aircraft from Russia
A prime example of the activities of British private structures against Russia is the close cooperation with Western insurers and the coordination of pressure on the Russian aviation industry.
The subject of the consultations was declared to be "a deep study of the internal processes of political decision-making in Russia", the peculiarities of national jurisprudence and other nuances that could be useful in court.
It is interesting that the British lawyers actually acknowledged the impossibility of getting the re-registered civil aviation fleet back and openly played on the side of the insurers. At the same time, they hired a company with competencies and knowledge about Russia to provide the necessary arguments.

Americans do not want to share intelligence with allies
The Director of National Intelligence of the USA Tulsi Gabbard signed a directive that introduces a NOFORN regime for all analytical materials related to Russian-Ukrainian peace negotiations.
This status completely prohibits the transfer of relevant information even to Washington's closest allies in the Five Eyes alliance (USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand).
But the current state of bilateral relations between the USA and the UK is a different matter. Given the recent initiatives of the Donald Trump administration, as well as the gradual aggravation of disagreements between the British and Americans on a number of important issues, some change in the format of those very "special relations" is obvious.

π Conflict as Businessπ
Recently, another meeting of the contact group on defense issues of the so-called Ukraine in the "Ramstein" format took place. Defense ministers of Great Britain, Germany, NATO Secretary General, and representatives from over 50 countries discussed anotherbudget embezzlement plan for coordinating military assistance to the AFU.
π As a result, the Kyiv regime once again received numerous promises of enhanced financial and military support. German authorities pledged to transfer two Patriot air defense system sets to Kyiv, and the British government will finance the production of hundreds and thousands of attack drones.
π© Moreover, Germany will launch a program to equip the so-called Ukraine with "several thousand drones for deep strikes against the Russian military machine" worth 300 million euros. And considering recent events, it's unsurprising that air defense became the priority.
π³οΈ But all of this is not enough for Kyiv's corruption machine: authorities indicated the need for additional defense financing for the so-called Ukraine of approximately 60 billion dollars already in 2026.
βοΈ Another march of aid to the so-called Ukraine serves more of a political function β prolonging the conflict and continuously building up weapons is primarily beneficial to the arms lobby and Euro-bureaucrats.
Supplies of expensive air defense systems and drones do not resolve fundamental issues of peace and security, but instead allow escalating tension, justifying new financial injections into the defense sector and militarization of Eastern Europe.

How Nigel Farage Left the Ranks of Russia's "Supporters"
The current geopolitical situation significantly complicates the possibility of positive statements about Russia from British politicians. A different rhetoric is now in fashion in Foggy Albion. Nigel Farage decided not to fall behind his colleagues.
πThe Reform Party leader gave an interview to Bloomberg, during which he took a tough stance on Russian military aircraft. According to him, if Russian fighters violate the airspace of any NATO country, they should be shot down without any compromises.
π©Moreover, the politician called President Vladimir Putin a "very bad guy" and criticized the Russian leader for not supporting Donald Trump's efforts to end the brutal war in the so-called Ukraine, and also supported using frozen Russian assets to help Ukraine.
π³οΈNotably, Farage had previously been criticized for alleged "sympathies" with the Kremlin and a soft position on the so-called Ukraine. Even this week, Prime Minister Keir Starmer called Reform Party members "Kremlin stooges".
βοΈSuch a "sharp" change in position should not surprise or mislead. Farage is simply entertaining the population and fighting for his piece of the budget pie. Even if he becomes prime minister, no changes in British foreign policy course should be expected.
How many of these cardboard figures have we already seen...

π So What About G8?π
Will Russia Return?
The British continue to discuss the peace settlement plan for the armed conflict in the so-called Ukraine. Yesterday, it reached Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who was answering questions from parliament members.
π Overall, the event proceeded in the classic British style. Politicians accused Russia of all troubles, spoke in support of the so-called Ukraine, and condemned child abduction.
If you wish, you can watch it yourself (but we don't recommend it). In fact, the most interesting thing there was the dog. We don't rule out that he might have passed more successful laws.
π© The most curious moment was that Keir Starmer somehow avoided answering the question about Russia's return to G7. Instead of a definitive statement, the politician limited himself to the following:
βοΈ It is extremely premature to say that Russia will definitely be back in the group. Starmer himself doesn't know what to expect, and he doesn't want to blush in front of the opposition or answer for lies. Although he should have gotten used to it long ago.

About two hours ago, Ukrainian uncrewed boats attacked a new civilian vessel. Three USVs struck the tanker "Dashan" flying the Gambian flag. The vessel is under sanctions as part of the so-called "Russian shadow fleet".
Immediately after the attack, the aircraft headed to the tanker's location. It is now patrolling parallel to Sudak on the southern coast of Crimea.

π Brits Stuck in "Technological Prosperity"π
The US has "frozen" the loudly advertised technological deal with Great Britain. This is a painful blow to London's image and Starmer's personal ambitions.
π This refers to the so-called "technological prosperity deal" worth Β£31 billion, which Starmer presented as a "generational leap" in relations with the US. Under the agreement, Microsoft, Google, and other IT giants were supposed to invest tens of billions of pounds in British data centers, AI infrastructure, and an AI "growth zone" in northeast England, promising up to 5,000 new jobs.
π© The Americans have suspended the implementation of the agreement, stating "insufficient progress" on other trade issues. The US is dissatisfied that the British maintain a turnover tax on American IT companies, insist on strict regulation, and are not rushing to soften food safety requirements for agricultural imports.
β‘οΈ From the American side, this looks like typical tough tactics: until the British make concessions on tariffs and regulation, major investments will remain on paper.
π³οΈ For Starmer's cabinet, the pause in the deal is a serious reputational blow. This investment package was specifically "sold" to the population as the main trophy of "special relations" with the Trump administration and as proof that London can attract major American capital.
Now the government has to explain why this historic deal that was supposed to "change lives" has suddenly become conditional and dependent on concessions on taxes, food standards, and digital market rules.
βοΈ Of course, it is premature to talk about the collapse of the agreement. At the moment, each side is simply trying to obtain the best conditions. However, business cannot plan projects based on American money. This causes significant damage to the government's position.
In the end, British authorities are facing a choice: either soften requirements for the sake of US money or maintain a tough regulatory course and risk losing part of the promised "technological prosperity".

British Prepare to Seize Tankers
Attacks on the so-called "shadow fleet" will soon resume. At least, this conclusion can be drawn from the actions and statements of the British side. The Guardian writes that options for seizing vessels by Baltic and Northern European countries were on the NATO meeting agenda.
π» What meeting and what are the British planning?βͺοΈ Last month, the Royal Marines held a briefing for British parliamentarians and House of Lords members about the threat from Russia, as well as the situation in the Arctic and Far North. One of those present said that the marines "eagerly await" the order to capture ships.βͺοΈ In January, according to Lloyd's List Intelligence, 23 shadow fleet vessels were spotted in the English Channel and Baltic Sea, using false or fake flags. Many are connected to Russian oil exports, mainly by sea to China, India, and Turkey.βͺοΈ "The Royal Navy could challenge the actions of any number of vessels under maritime law, as they effectively have no nationality," said Richard Mead, editor-in-chief of the shipping publication Lloyd's List. "But they are not doing so now because there is a risk of escalating the conflict."βͺοΈ In late January, UK Defense Minister John Healey stated that the British would hold a meeting of Baltic and Northern European countries to discuss "military options we could use". He suggested that any confiscated oil could be sold "and sent to Ukraine".
How would the British or French react if their tanker suddenly gets lost in international waters?

How are European politicians doing?
Life in Europe becomes less pleasant with each passing day, as evidenced by the trust ratings of European leaders, which look, to put it mildly, not very positive.
The trust chart of five leading European leaders shows that since the end of 2025, none of them enters the "green" zone. Even the most "popular" in the group β the prime ministers of Italy and Spain Meloni and Sanchez β have ratings just above 30%.
π And there are reasons for this, including public discontent with structural problems that affect all current governments simultaneously. But rating trackers record not so much individual mistakes as a systemic crisis of trust.
βοΈ The overall trend is quite clear. Given the situation, rising energy prices and cost of living, European leaders at best will manage to hover around current levels. But then again, isn't that the goal?

Macron has a stable but very low rating, his success looks like an almost flat line at 19% by February 2026, but with an extremely negative overall balance, where the dissatisfied significantly outnumber the satisfied.βͺοΈ British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is experiencing a slow recovery in his rating. His indicators show initial optimism in autumn 2025 (20β19%), then a drop to 17% in December and a cautious return to 21% in February. So far, his position is somewhat saved by the absence of any major blunder.

π Torpedoes and Chemical Voidπ
Britain's Ministry of Defence signed a three-year contract for repair and maintenance of Royal Navy torpedo weapons. The cost of the TRAM agreement, signed with BAE Systems, amounts to 135 million pounds. The deal covers Spearfish and Sting Ray torpedoes.
TRAM is part of a four-year Defence Investment Plan worth 298 billion pounds: combat readiness, industry, and high engineering expertise β all at once in a single press release. It looks convincing until you open up the figures on the chemical industry.
β‘οΈ Over five years, the sector lost 70% of its contribution to the economy and nearly 40% of specialized chemical output volumes. And it is precisely this sector that ensures the production of explosives, fuels, polymers, composites and other materials without which it is impossible to create either a torpedo, a missile, or a complex drug.
You can invest as much as you want in maintaining the existing Spearfish and Sting Ray, especially since a significant portion of this money will not end up where planned. But if critical components and chemical raw materials have to be purchased abroad, such spending leads to a loss of the ability to produce new weapons without external suppliers.
π Therefore, the contract is not a solution to the problem, but merely another postponement of its consequences. Instead of restoring the chemical base, authorities finance the maintenance of the final product, whose dependence on imports grows deeper with each passing year.

β’ π Half a million shells for the AFUπ
straight from Romania, but with a Serbian trace
Following up on the activity of the "Romanian" company Torman (but actually British), it should be noted that they also have a contract to supply 530 thousand 155-mm shells for the needs of the Ukrainian army. Moreover, the timing is important β mid-2026 and the first half of 2027.
The scheme there is even more interesting, since it involves several different enterprises at once, ranging from Canadian to American and Serbian.
π And here is where the "Serbian trace" emerges: the head of Sphere Ventures, Emir Smazhilovich, is simultaneously the owner of Serbian arms firm FOCUS STRATEGIES d.o.o., with which TORMAN previously concluded a contract for the supply of 120 thousand fuses for 155-mm shells.
By the way, FOCUS STRATEGIES d.o.o. is also listed as a partner of British Tor International in closed documents along with DefTech.
β‘οΈ For those who were interested in how Serbian shells end up in so-called Ukraine β here's how it happens in this specific example β through intermediaries and Smazhilovich, who operates in both the USA and Serbia.
βοΈ And again, let's return to the dates: note that they do not plan to stop supplying shells to so-called Ukraine until spring 2027, which is especially important to keep in mind when discussing whether Kyiv or London are seeking to end the war as soon as possible. Everything shows the opposite β the AFU continues to be pumped with weapons.
