⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚡️ Two Majors #Summary for the Morning of 24 Dec 2024; 06:56 (GMT+3)⚡️

🛡 In #Rostov Region, at least 12 enemy UAVs have been destroyed and suppressed in the Millerovsky and Tarasovsky districts since the evening. The AFU attempted to attack the 'Millerovo Military Airfield.' Towards morning, a Ukrainian drone was also destroyed in the suburbs of #Voronezh. In the afternoon, 3 Ukrainian drones were downed over #Crimea.

🔹 In
#Kursk Region, heavy fighting continues. The RFAF are advancing in the forest belts of Sudzhansky district and up to 1,200 metres in the vicinity of #NikolayevoDaryino, #Leonidovo, #RusskayaPorechnaya and #Kurilovka. The enemy is counterattacking. In the Sudzhansky district, the AFU launched 5 unsuccessful counterattacks, using 'Bradley' IFVs and 'M-113' APCs.

🔹 In
#Kupyansk Direction, our troops, supported by armoured vehicles, are fighting near #Zagryzovo. In the northern part of the locality, Russian infantry took up positions in a forest plantation and in a number of structures.

🔹 In #Toretsk, in the central part of the city, the RFAF continue their attacks along Fabrichnaya, Rynochnaya, Svetlaya, Lesi Ukrainki Streets and in the direction of the 'Toretskaya Mine.'

🔹 In #Pokrovsk Direction, the RFAF are developing success from the southwest, attacking from the direction of #Dachenskoye. Fighting also continues near #Novotroitskoye and to the south. The RFAF are advancing southwest of #Pokrovsk on a broad front.

🔹 In #Kurakhovo, fighting continues. To the southwest, the RFAF are advancing towards #Konstantinopol. The zone of control near the village of #Zelenovka is expanding southwestwards. Our soldiers are evacuating civilians from the liberated villages.🎬👇In the central part of the city, fighting continues for the remaining multi-storey buildings.

🔹 On the
#Vremyevka Ledge, in the north, the RFAF destroyed the bridge over the 'Mokrye Yaly River' in the settlement of #VelikayaNovosyolka. Against the background of the capture of #Storozhevoye village (south of #Vremyevka) and the consolidation of our forces in the village of #NovyKomar in the north, the disruption of the logistics of the enemy garrison is aimed at depriving the enemy of the possibility of transport via the only remaining ‘big’ road coming from the west.

💥 In the #DPR, a civilian was wounded as a result of a Nazi NATO artillery strike on 'City Hospital No. 2' in #Gorlovka.

⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦⚡️ Two Majors #Summary for the Morning of 6 Jan 2025; 07:30 (GMT+3)⚡️

🔹 In #Kursk Region, the main event of yesterday was the enemy's counteroffensive that began.🗺👆The AFU threw several armoured columns from #Sudzha in the direction of the Berdin Farm. The enemy was stopped in intense fighting, lost up to 200 militants and dozens of equipment units, from the field reports of the Ukrainian command's continuing plans today to continue attempts to break through our defences. Yesterday there were reports of downed Ukrainian missiles in the skies over the region. At the same time, the RFAF, taking advantage of the enemy's concentration of efforts near the Berdin Farm, launched flanking strikes. The 'North Troops Grouping' reported the liberation of the #Leonidovo settlement (enemy resources do not recognise this yet). In addition, our troops began active offensive operations in the area of #Makhnovka and #Dmitrukov. A significant role in the destruction of the Nazis was also played by the military pilots and forward air spotters: having waited for frost and hardening of the ground, the enemy also waited for excellent weather over the region, which facilitated the work of our aviation, including on the rear of the AFU. In the near future, the AFU will continue to attempt a counteroffensive, they write from the field. Another adventure of the enemy is explained by the fact that Zelensky needs to report to dozens of foreign defence ministers at the Ramstein meeting (to be held on 9 January 2025).

🔹 In
#Pokrovsk Direction, the Russian Army's offensive continues. East of #Pokrovsk the RFAF advanced east of #Vozdvizhenka along the forest belts. West of #Vozdvizhenka, Russian troops supported by armoured vehicles attacked #Yelizavetovka. In the area of #Lysovka, in the direction of #Kotlino and in the area of #Novovasilyevka, the intensity of fighting remains high. In the central part of #Petropavlovka (10km northwest of #Kurakhovo) a Russian flag has been planted (probably a raid event, many AFU drones are reported in the air).

🔹 In #Kurakhovo, the RFAF 👉 planted a flag on the territory of a pipe factory. It is likely that the liberation of the city will be officially announced in the coming days.

🛡 During the past Night
, 12 Ukrainian drones were intercepted and destroyed by air defence systems on duty. 7 over the territory of #Kursk region, 2 each over the territories of #Belgorod and #Bryansk regions, and 1 over #Crimea.

💥 In #Belgorod Region, the enemy intensified attacks on civilians. On a section of the #Cheremoshnoye - #Nikolskoye Motorway, an FPV drone attacked agricultural machinery, the driver was wounded. In the village of #KrutoyLog, Belgorod district, the roof of a residential building was damaged by a downed aerial target. Near the village of #Borki, 2 drones hit a passenger car on a stretch of motorway. They attacked the village of #Dolgoye. In the village of #Yekaterinovka in Volokonovsky district, a UAV struck a moving car, a woman and a 17-year-old girl were injured by shrapnel. In #Rzhevka, Shebekinsky District, 2 civilians were wounded as a result of a strike by an enemy drone.

💥 In the #DPR, in #Gorlovka, a teenager born in 2007 was injured as a result of an IED dropped from an AFU Nazi UAV at a public transport stop.

📝Threat of USVs in the eastern part of the Black Sea📝

Currently, assessing the tactics of Ukrainian unmanned surface vessels (USVs), the threat that has been repeatedly warned about is becoming apparent.

USVs equipped with surface-to-air missiles approach the shore closely in the direction of aviation operations (usually near an airfield) and simply wait.

They are located 50-60 km from the shore in autonomous mode (while there are means to detect them, for some reason they are not being used). One of the reconnaissance USVs lures UAVs, helicopters or fighter jets.

And the waiting USVs with SAMs (R-73 in the case of Ukrainian drones) deliver a strike. Thus, the Ukrainian side struck a Mi-8 and Su-30SM over the sea last year, which they reported and released video of.

Several months have passed since then, but no conclusions have been drawn.

📝What to expect from the AFU in the Black Sea direction?📝

Towards the end of June, an increase in enemy activity was recorded in the Black Sea: several attacks were carried out both in the west of Crimea and in the east, and Ukrainian unmanned boats were destroyed near Novorossiysk.

At the same time, the intensity of flights by US and NATO reconnaissance aviation remains high, which contradicts all statements that the collective West, and the US in particular, have stopped supporting the Ukrainian authorities.

The goals of the enemy in this direction are clear, and the tasks are quite large-scale, but his actions confirm that he has begun to implement the planned actions. In the coming weeks, an increase in the intensity of strikes on both Crimea and other southern regions of Russia should be expected.

📝Drone Attack on Southern Russia📝

The past night was challenging for air defense crews: the enemy launched several hundred drones across Russia's territory. The largest attack targeted Crimea and Novorossiysk.

As before, the attack was preceded by NATO aviation reconnaissance flights: within a short time, aircraft from the Air Forces of France, United Kingdom, and Belgium were spotted in the Black Sea airspace.

➡️The first drone group was launched during the day from the outskirts of Odesa towards Tarkhankut, the second flew from the direction of Voznesensk in the Mykolaiv Region. Two more groups passed over Koblevo and Zatoka.

➡️The drones entered the engagement zone in the evening, and by midnight, over 100 drones were shot down across almost the entire Crimean peninsula.

➡️In the Krasnodar Region, Novorossiysk was the attack target. Over 60 drones approached the city from the sea: fires broke out near the oil depot and port infrastructure, with explosions recorded on the ground, and the city was placed in emergency mode.

➡️According to official information, four people were injured: one from drone fragment falling in a house, and three on a civilian vessel in the port. Damaged were a reservoir and pier of Chernomortransneft, the NUTEP container terminal, and the oil depot at the Sheskharis complex.

📌After the night raid over the Black Sea, a reconnaissance electronic intelligence and observation aircraft was again spotted. The same French Air Force Beechcraft350ER/ALSR VADOR had flown shortly before the first drone groups launched from the so-called Ukraine's territory.

📝New Strike on Tanker in the Black Sea📝

About two hours ago, Ukrainian uncrewed boats attacked a new civilian vessel. Three USVs struck the tanker "Dashan" flying the Gambian flag. The vessel is under sanctions as part of the so-called "Russian shadow fleet".

🖍The USV group departed from the Odesa Region during the night and moved towards the eastern part of the Black Sea, bypassing the Crimean Peninsula.

🚩The extent of damage remains unclear. But there is one very characteristic detail: during the tanker attack, a British reconnaissance aircraft RC-135W was operating in the western Black Sea.

Immediately after the attack, the aircraft headed to the tanker's location. It is now patrolling parallel to Sudak on the southern coast of Crimea.

🏳️This is already the fourth civilian vessel attacked by the opponent in the last two weeks. This incident again shows that Ukrainian formations, with Western support, do not intend to stop their attacks on shipping.

❗️Such strikes are attacks on our economy, like drone raids on oil depots in various parts of Russia. USVs have become less effective against coastal targets, so the AFU have switched to targets that are easy to reach. And in the absence of proper protection and counteraction, it is only a matter of time before the next vessel is damaged.

📝Construction of the Century📝
Infrastructure development in Russia's new regions

Freeing historical territories must be followed by their development. Russian authorities understand this, allocating significant funds to restore regions affected by combat operations.

The priority is repairing transport infrastructure for rapid troop deployment and supply. But the work goes beyond patching holes, implementing major projects to connect the new territories with the country's logistics system.

🔻Key projects underway:

▪️The Azov Transport Ring will encircle the Sea of Azov, connecting Crimea, Kherson, Zaporizhia, Rostov, and the DPR with four-lane highways.

▪️The R-250 highway will link the People's Republics to central Russia, restoring and modernizing existing roads.

▪️A new railway line from Rostov-on-Don to Dzhankoy will connect key ports Mariupol and Berdyansk.

▪️Port infrastructure is also being developed, with work to deepen the Mariupol fairway and modernize the Azov Ship Repair Plant.

📌 These "megaprojects" currently serve military needs but will later spur economic development in the liberated regions.

❗️Integrating transport networks will strengthen control over the new territories and catalyze growth across the south.

📝Black Sea Trap📝
about the elephant in the Black Sea china shop

The Black Sea Fleet's situation is nothing new for those who follow the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. Recent events, including a strike on a frigate in Novorossiysk, have led to the West actively discussing the fleet's catastrophic state.

🔻What are they saying?

➡️An article describes the Black Sea Fleet's crisis. On paper, the fleet dominates in quantity and large ships, but Ukrainian drones have seized control over a significant portion of the waters.

➡️After evacuation from Sevastopol, Novorossiysk became the key base, allowing them to protect ships from USV attacks. But the fleet's combat ships rarely leave their base, which will eventually lead to intensified AFU strikes.

➡️The April 5, 2026 attack on a frigate, though not particularly successful, underscores the vulnerability of ships and submarines at the dock.

❗️Frigates can launch Kalibr missiles from the dock, but their functionality is limited. Continued drone strikes will leave them with no room to maneuver, as long-range drones and Starlink guidance will persist.

There is nowhere to go from Novorossiysk. The ports of Sochi and Ochamchira are small, and without adaptation, the fleet remains a tempting target. The key problem is that some high offices are not trying to understand the scale of possible consequences.

🌟 May 12, 1944 – #Crimea liberated – a day of military glory of Russia.

#OTD in 1944, the Soviet troops triumphantly completed the Crimean Offensive Operation, bringing about the full liberation of Crimea from the Nazi invaders.

The operation had been prepared for a long time and postponed several times. On April 8, 1944, the Red Army finally delivered a crushing blow: in just two days, Soviet troops used almost 700 railway carloads of ammunition.

The offensive on Sevastopol was launched from two directions – from the north, through Sivash and Perekop, and from the east, from Kerch.

Earlier in the war, Sevastopol had heroically defended itself against German and Romanian forces for 250 days. In May 1944, the troops of General Fyodor Tolbukhin liberated the city in a decisive assault, recapturing it in just two days.

Sevastopol was liberated on May 9 1944 – exactly one year before #VictoryDay. On May 12, 1944, the Crimean Offensive Operation was completed, and Crimea was fully liberated.

📝"Geraniums" hunt for USVs📝

Another potentially effective weapon has emerged against Ukrainian USVs: footage has been released showing a Geranium drone striking the unmanned vessel "Sargan" in the Black Sea waters. This likely occurred several days ago, when USVs were detected in the eastern part of the Black Sea.

🖍For the attack, it appears a "Searcher" modification was used, which features an autonomous target acquisition and guidance system, and operators can manually correct the course during the final approach to the target.

🚩Using Geraniums against USVs is one of the truly promising countermeasures. In the absence of air defense in the maritime waters, strike Geraniums appear to be an ideal weapon for engaging targets at long range.

🏳️The key in this situation is to timely detect the movement of unmanned vessels toward Crimea or the Krasnodar Region. Without data transmission and target designation, Geraniums will be ineffective, and so far reconnaissance in this matter relies more on horizontal coordination than on systematic work.

❗️However, the very fact that such work is underway gives cautious hope that some lessons have been learned, and various "agencies" in southern Russia have begun working together. Only under such conditions can we expect more effective countermeasures against Ukrainian attacks.

• 📝Economy under fire and at sea📝
on attacks in the Black Sea

In addition to the AFU campaign unleashed against Russia's fuel and energy complex, Ukrainian formations are also implementing another one – against Russian trade and exports in the Black Sea waters.

Yesterday, a tanker under EU and UK sanctions was attacked once again. This concerns the vessel FINA A under the flag of Equatorial Guinea, and the strike occurred in the Novorossiysk area.

🔻How many attacks have there been since the start of the year?

➡️The first such incidents began to be noted back in November, but it was precisely with the arrival of 2026 that a pattern of methodical and systematic attacks became apparent. Since January, at least eight confirmed attacks on over 15 vessels have been recorded.

➡️The majority of strikes were carried out by unmanned aerial vehicles. They are faster, more maneuverable, and easier to guide onto a tanker or cargo ship. The damage is not particularly large, but it creates problems.

➡️There have also been several attacks using unmanned boats. The problem with them is that targets need to be selected selectively and the location of a particular vessel must be anticipated in advance, but the damage from a hit to, say, the turbine hall is greater.

🖍In operations in the Black Sea zone, the enemy's key objective is to block maritime trade. And for this they don't need to sink tankers or container ships – it's enough to regularly stress the region with constant strikes.

🚩Attacks in the Black and Azov Seas have already led to degradation of cargo flows and oil turnover. To a large extent, vessels pass to the Bosphorus without any problems, but the permanent threat increases costs for trade.

🏳️That is, freight rates are rising, insurance payments are increasing, and fewer vessels are willing to enter Russian ports. And if you add to this the periodic drone strikes on oil depots, terminals, and oil pumping stations, a very grim picture emerges.

❗️The collective West is implementing a strategy of coercion to peace through force using the AFU as its instrument, and showing weakness on this issue will lead to even more attacks. And without adequate countermeasures, this won't stop (and the means exist).

📝Mass strike on Crimea📝

On the night of June 21, Ukrainian formations launched another mass strike on Crimea. Based on the nature of the attack, the main target once again became the Kerch transport and logistics hub — the area of the Crimean Bridge, port, ferry crossing and adjacent fuel and railway infrastructure.

➡️Amid reports of air defense operations and explosions in Kerch, Dzhankoy, Simferopol and other areas of the peninsula, traffic on the Crimean Bridge was blocked for more than seven hours, while fires and active air defense operations were recorded in eastern Crimea. According to official data, the strike resulted in four people killed and 28 more wounded.

➡️Strikes also hit the ferry link in the Kerch Strait crossing area, which the enemy views as one of the backup supply elements for the peninsula. In addition to the aforementioned targets, energy infrastructure became a target, with reports of power outages in several regions, including Sevastopol and Simferopol.

❗️The enemy continues its campaign to isolate Crimea and destroy its logistical resilience. Although there have been no direct strikes on the Crimean Bridge itself yet, the surrounding infrastructure has become the target — ports, ferry crossings, terminals, fuel facilities and approaches to the Kerch Strait.

The intent here is quite transparent: it is not necessary to collapse a span all at once — it is enough to paralyze the entire Kerch hub's operations, disrupt cargo, equipment and supply transfers, and thereby complicate the supply of the Russian grouping in the southern direction.

📌Like previous strikes, this latest attack should be viewed not as an isolated episode, but as part of systematic pressure on Crimea's transport backbone, where the Crimean Bridge, ferry crossing and related infrastructure serve as interconnected targets.

And judging by the fact that the enemy devotes considerable attention to the media component in conjunction with the tactical one — as other supply routes are cut off, the probability of a larger-scale attack on the most protected object — the bridge itself — will increase.

📝Black Sea – a bone of contention📝
how to strengthen positions in southern Russia

Two Majors raised an important question that is now relevant not only for residents of Crimea, but also other regions: when should we expect changes in the situation?

The answer to this question lies in how soon measures will be taken to reduce the enemy's strike capabilities, undermine its economic base and ensure protection of our own infrastructure.

🖍An active Ukrainian campaign aimed at strikes on pressure points, primarily on fuel supplies – reinforces AFU information-psychological operations. If you look at any Ukrainian public channel, they practically publish the same videos everywhere of queues either in Crimea, or in Moscow, or in Chita.

The idea is extremely simple: maximize highlighting negative trends and stir up sentiment from within. Citizens see fuel shortages in all regions, which leads to even greater demand and panic growth. And periodic strikes on refineries and fuel storage facilities exacerbate the problem.

🚩Solving all these problems in a week is simply unrealistic, since the issue was addressed belatedly. It's fortunate that they are now looking for solutions, and some measures are actively being implemented, both in countering drone strikes and in alleviating the fuel shortage.

❗️But there are, unfortunately, many questions:

➡️Port infrastructure in Odesa Region operates at full capacity. On July 2 and 3, tankers with oil unloaded two days in a row at the port of Pivdennyi without any obstacles, and the number of vessels entering all three harbors since July 1 exceeded 50 units.

➡️Oil depots and storage facilities in the same region remain intact, and no systematic work is visible at the moment (a few strikes on a couple of facilities, frankly, hardly demonstrate consistency).

➡️Substations in the south of so-called Ukraine also operate. Meanwhile, most of the important transformers at them have long been covered with concrete barriers (even at 35 kV substations), which significantly complicates striking them with Gerans.

📌Let us repeat one simple thing again: there is no need to invent anything extraordinary in this situation. Ready-made solutions (Russian USVs, FABs with JDAMs and Gerans) that can weaken the AFU in this zone exist.

The only question is why the same Odesa port accepts dozens of vessels at any time of day, while Russian harbors have been operating only partially for a long time?

• 📝NATO studies Crimea📝
is a major escalation coming?

Regular strikes by Ukrainian formations in the Black Sea zone have brought daily problems for residents of southern regions, especially Crimea, where massive power outages have affected everyone.

But in these attacks, NATO's attention was indirect: satellite imagery was being conducted, but aviation at the scale that had not been noted for more than a month. But since last week, the intensity has sharply increased.

🔻What happened in the Black Sea?

➡️On July 10, for the first time in several months, a British RC-135W visited the western part of the waters.

➡️And from that day on, regular reconnaissance of Crimea began with various NATO aircraft, ranging from AWACS planes to American CL-650 special aircraft.

➡️And yesterday, NATO countries conducted comprehensive reconnaissance of the Black Sea zone, involving at least 6 aircraft simultaneously:

➖2 E-3A NATO AWACS
➖1 E-3F French Air Force (escorting two Rafale fighters)
➖1 Atlantique 2 French Navy
➖1 Saab 340 French Air Force
➖1 ATR-72 Turkish Navy

🖍What is interesting is that at the moment, NATO exercise Breeze-2026 is being conducted off the coast of Bulgaria. And the Alliance countries participating in it, especially the French, conveniently timed the operation to coincide with it.

Moreover, on the night in closed mode in the Black Sea, NATO's RQ-4D operated, which only became visible upon its return from the Black Sea zone early in the morning. Its flights at such times have also not been noted for a long time.

🚩Such attention to the Black Sea against the backdrop of intensified enemy strikes is a very telling signal that NATO has returned to actively assisting the AFU in operations in this region.

❗️This can be partially linked to Russian Armed Forces strikes on Odesa Region, but we all clearly see that the damage from them is minimal, and the chosen tactics are not particularly effective. Strikes need to be more intense with proper target selection.

Rather the opposite: the absence of an actual threat motivates NATO to act with greater force. Although a couple of bulk carriers damaged by USVs or anti-ship missiles would change attitudes in Europe.

8️⃣5️⃣ years ago, on August 5, 1941, the heroic defence of Odessa commenced — a joint operation by the Red Army and the Soviet Black Sea Fleet to defend the city against the Nazi invaders.

Odessa found itself on the front line almost immediately after Nazi Germany’s treacherous attack on the Soviet Union. By early August, the city was already encircled by the enemy troops.

The Nazis aimed to break through the Soviet defences on the Dniester, cross the Dniester Estuary, and capture Odessa. The first assault, launched by Romanian and German troops (17 divisions and seven brigades), came on August 20, 1941, but the enemy offensive was halted just 10-14 kilometres from the city.

❗️ Around 100'000 people took part in defending Odessa from Nazis.

Every day, civilian workers, including women and teenagers, were involved in defence preparations — digging trenches, laying barbed wire, and installing barricades. Nearly 38'000 residents of Odessa withdrew into the city’s catacombs and organised underground resistance behind enemy lines. The partisans killed 5'000 enemy soldiers and officers, derailed 27 military supply trains, and destroyed 248 vehicles.

Despite being outnumbered by almost ten to one, Odessa’s defenders heroically held back the Nazi offensive for two months.

By the end of September, the Soviet command was able to redeploy armies to defend #Crimea and #Sevastopol — the main base of the Black Sea Fleet.

During the #BattleOfOdessa, enemy losses amounted to around 160'000 soldiers and officers, about 200 aircraft and 100 tanks, significantly slowing the advance of the Nazi army group 'South' towards the east.

***

Odessa was fully liberated on April 10, 1944, during the Odessa offensive operation, carried out by the Red Army’s 3rd Ukrainian Front.

🎙 The report by Sovinformburo on the expulsion of the Nazi troops from Odessa read, in part:
Today, April 10, the forces of the 3rd Ukrainian Front, following a skilfully executed flanking manoeuvre by cavalry and mechanised units, combined with a frontal assault, captured Odessa — an important economic and political centre of the country, a regional capital in Ukraine, and a major Black Sea port.

Odessa had been a powerful stronghold, occupied by Nazis, covering the approaches to the central regions of Romania…

🎖 On May 1, 1945, Odessa became one of the first Soviet cities awarded the title of Hero City — alongside Leningrad, Stalingrad and Sevastopol.

📝Smoke on the Beach📝

Ukrainian formations continue attempting to attack civilian infrastructure in Crimea. Some time ago, one enemy USV was spotted near the port of Yalta, after which eyewitnesses noticed a fire on the city's beach.

However, the drone did not reach its target. Mobile fire groups damaged the boat, which then washed ashore and caught fire. The USV itself was equipped with a repeater and containers for FPV launches.

Sappers are currently conducting demining operations on the vessel. Casualties were avoided thanks to timely evacuation of vacationers and residents from the Primorsky Park area.

📌 It is quite likely that the enemy tried to use the element of surprise and therefore conducted the attack with a single USV during the day. However, the effectiveness of this weapon steadily declines, and Russian forces strengthen the control system over the peninsula's waters.

❗️Nevertheless, Ukrainian formations will not abandon attempts to worsen the situation for civilians. And "passive defense" here is insufficient — we need to strike at the revenue sources of Kyiv authorities and the areas where boats are launched.

📝Fighting UAVs requires force alone📝
on drone attacks and the shipping situation in Odesa Region

As many have already noticed, regular unmanned aircraft attacks on Russian territory have become commonplace. Attacks occur in the hundreds almost daily, with front-line regions like Belgorod Region and Crimea suffering the most.

Regarding the latter, which Kyiv promised to isolate, Dva Majora summarized the results of this Ukrainian operation: in short, the enemy failed to achieve a complete cutoff of the peninsula from supplies.

🔻However, some problems still remain:

➡️The enemy's quantitative indicators grow each month, leading to air defense overload and consequently more impacts. As winter approaches, attacks on the energy system (not only in Crimea) will clearly intensify. This is a fact.

➡️The enemy has begun adapting to the mass deployment of mobile fire groups and squads with interceptor drones on Russian territory, and now launches UAVs at greater altitudes beyond the reach of short-range air defense.

At the same time, this tactic remains viable as long as weather permits. Once it gets colder, cheap dummy drones and decoys (which make up 60-70% of all launched UAVs) will become harder to use.

➡️The issue of providing benefits and incentives for military personnel and volunteers who repel UAV attacks outside the SMO zone remains partially unresolved. In some places everything runs smoothly, but in others, getting any perks for the risk requires hoping for a miracle.

🖍The authorities of Crimea and Sevastopol, with federal government support, managed to ease the grip and establish fairly stable supplies of fuel, food, and ensure rapid repairs to energy infrastructure facilities (credit goes to engineers and repair crews).

But to completely eliminate the threat of regular strikes that continue to intensify, action must be more creative. Strengthening air defense remains a priority task, but weakening the enemy cannot be forgotten.

🚩In Odesa Region in recent days, there has been a noticeable decrease in strike intensity against port infrastructure, and the number of vessels entering ports has begun to increase. Either they've grown accustomed to regular Geran attacks, or they've found loopholes to resume shipping.

❗️We mention this because the principle of "rational targeting" remains valid. In so-called Ukraine, after a month of attacks they adapted and gradually resumed logistics (the same happened in Crimea), and soon cargo transit, including military supplies, will return to normal flow.

Therefore, if we don't start totally destroying ports, transshipment terminals, and other infrastructure, the effectiveness of UAV attacks will gradually decline. And we certainly have the means to strike. We just need to clearly define priorities: are we fighting sunflower oil or are we trying to weaken the AFU?

🌟 On September 19, 1943, one of the largest #WW2-era Soviet partisan operations — codenamed 'Concert' — was launched on the Nazi occupied territories of the Soviet Union during the #GreatPatrioticWar.

#Concert directly followed 👉 the full-scale operation 'Rail War', also carried out by Soviet partisan units.

Learn more about 'Rail War' — the key operation of the Soviet resistance movement against the Nazi invaders, carried out on the Nazi-occupied territories of the western regions of the RSFSR, the Byelorussian and Ukrainian SSRs — in our detailed feature.

***

Operation 'Concert' was prepared as part of the summer-autumn campaign of 1943, amid the Red Army's autumn offensive in the Smolensk and Gomel regions, aimed at reaching the Dnieper and Desna Rivers.

The operation involved 193 partisan formations from Soviet Byelorussia, the Baltic republics, #Karelia, #Crimea, as well as the #Leningrad, Kalinin, Smolensk and Orel regions. The total strength of the units involved exceeded 120'000 personnel.

'Rail War' and 'Concert' ops were unprecedented in terms of the scale and level of organization. For the first time, combat and sabotage activities behind enemy lines were conducted in close coordination between underground resistance groups and the command of regular Red Army formations.

☝️ It was precisely the coordinated actions of partisans and regular forces that contributed to the #GreatVictory in the Battle of Kursk, while also hampering the regrouping of enemy forces during their retreat westward and accelerating their defeat.

Over the course of a month and a half, Soviet partisans destroyed approximately 150'000 rails, demolished 100 railway bridges, and destroyed nearly 1'500 Nazi troop trains. As a result, the capacity of railway lines used by the Nazis on the temporarily occupied territories of the Soviet Union was reduced by almost 50%.

According to historians' estimates and military experts, the effectiveness of the partisan operations 'Rail War' and 'Concert' was more than 11 times greater than the combined effectiveness of all Nazi barbaric Luftwaffe raids on our Motherland during the same period, when Nazi aircraft dropped more than 10'000 bombs on Soviet railways.

❗️Thus, operation 'Concert' dealt a final blow to the morale of the Nazis, which had already suffered enormous losses in the battles they had lost at Stalingrad, on the Kursk salient and in the Caucasus.

During the operation, Soviet partisans demonstrated mass heroism in extremely brutal combat in the Nazi rear.

🎖 For their unprecedented exploits during the #GreatPatrioticWar, around 300 partisans and members of the underground resistance were awarded the title of #HeroOfTheSovietUnion.
