The visual answer here is the footage from the cockpit of one of the bombers - the number of contrails well characterizes the activity of aviation in the area.
The photo also shows a clear sky: in recent days, the weather has cleared up in the region, which has significantly facilitated work "in the air" and will clearly have an effect in the form of bombing strikes on the second echelon of the AFU.
If the thaw comes, then, as Revenge of Good Will indicates, the dirt roads and fields will become muddy, which will affect the offensive plans of the enemy.

🔹 In #Kursk Region, the main event of yesterday was the enemy's counteroffensive that began.🗺 👆 The AFU threw several armoured columns from #Sudzha in the direction of the Berdin Farm. The enemy was stopped in intense fighting, lost up to 200 militants and dozens of equipment units, from the field reports of the Ukrainian command's continuing plans today to continue attempts to break through our defences. Yesterday there were reports of downed Ukrainian missiles in the skies over the region. At the same time, the RFAF, taking advantage of the enemy's concentration of efforts near the Berdin Farm, launched flanking strikes. The 'North Troops Grouping' reported the liberation of the #Leonidovo settlement (enemy resources do not recognise this yet). In addition, our troops began active offensive operations in the area of #Makhnovka and #Dmitrukov. A significant role in the destruction of the Nazis was also played by the military pilots and forward air spotters: having waited for frost and hardening of the ground, the enemy also waited for excellent weather over the region, which facilitated the work of our aviation, including on the rear of the AFU. In the near future, the AFU will continue to attempt a counteroffensive, they write from the field. Another adventure of the enemy is explained by the fact that Zelensky needs to report to dozens of foreign defence ministers at the Ramstein meeting (to be held on 9 January 2025).
🔹 In #Pokrovsk Direction, the Russian Army's offensive continues. East of #Pokrovsk the RFAF advanced east of #Vozdvizhenka along the forest belts. West of #Vozdvizhenka, Russian troops supported by armoured vehicles attacked #Yelizavetovka. In the area of #Lysovka, in the direction of #Kotlino and in the area of #Novovasilyevka, the intensity of fighting remains high. In the central part of #Petropavlovka (10km northwest of #Kurakhovo) a Russian flag has been planted (probably a raid event, many AFU drones are reported in the air).
🔹 In #Kurakhovo, the RFAF 👉 planted a flag on the territory of a pipe factory. It is likely that the liberation of the city will be officially announced in the coming days.

🔹 In #Kursk Region, for the 2nd day, the RFAF have been holding back the enemy's onslaught in the direction of #Sudzha - #BolshoyeSoldatskoye.🗺 👆 The enemy once again threw infantry and armoured vehicles into the battle, but did not succeed, losing a total of at least 35 pieces of equipment (including tanks) and more than 200 militants in the attacks. During the day, 14 enemy soldiers were taken prisoner in the area of the 'Berdin Farm.' When questioned, they said that up to 50 percent of the enemy infantry was made up of a special contingent (prisoners, including those forcibly mobilised). At the same time, the RFAF, taking advantage of the enemy's distraction by these politically motivated actions, managed to enter #MalayaLoknya on the northern flank and advance in #Makhnovka, a couple of kilometres from #Sudzha. Fire brigades and emergency services are working on the site,' the governor said. In #Rostov region 5 UAVs were destroyed in Millerovsky, Chertkovsky and Azovsky districts. Over the #Bryansk region 3 drones were shot down, several more over the #Belgorod region, 1 over #Berdyansk in the #Zaporozhye region.

for January 9, 2025
Russian forces delivered a series of strikes on AFU targets in the border zone and rear regions of the so-called Ukraine. The enemy launched several drones over the Krasnodar Region, most of which were shot down by on-duty air defense assets.
In the Kursk Region, the clearing of the Berdin area from the enemy is confirmed, and it also became known that the Russian Armed Forces control Agronomicheskoye and are advancing towards Nikolskoye.

🇷🇺🇺🇦 Ukrainian public pages are spreading false information about an alleged Russian air strike on civilian infrastructure in the Sudzha area.
❗️It is reported that the Russian Aerospace Forces conducted an airstrike on a local boarding school. The enemy claims that up to 95 people are under the rubble.
🔻However, according to data from August, no more than a hundred residents remained in the occupied city, making it unlikely that they were all in one building.
▪️The images of the destroyed building published by the enemy were indeed taken in the area of the school, but they do not reliably assess either the scale of the destruction or the number of casualties.
▪️Most likely, the strike was carried out by Ukrainian formations in order to get rid of undesirable persons whom they had to maintain. And in this way, they also attributed the responsibility to Russia.
In fact, there were no flights of Russian aviation in the Sudzha area at that time. A week earlier, the accumulation of Ukrainian equipment and members of Ukrainian formations was detected near this school, which were engaged by the UAV operators of the Russian Armed Forces.
Thus, it becomes quite obvious that the enemy in the city is using the civilian population as cover, trying to avoid air strikes. Such actions are a provocation by the AFU and are aimed at further discrediting Russia's reputation in the eyes of the international community.

While Ukrainian formations are trying to conceal their involvement in the missile strike on Sudzha, the Russian forces continue to engage in fierce battles and gradually reduce the territory of the part of the Kursk Region occupied by the AFU.

As promised, we continue to publish detailed video breakdowns of key events in the SVO zone. Today's chronicle will review and analyze the operational situation in the Kursk direction since the beginning of the new year.
🔻More about the situation in the area:
Almost six months have passed since the beginning of the invasion of Ukrainian formations in the Kursk region: during this time Russian troops have regained control over about half of the territory occupied by the AFU, getting closer and closer to Sudzha - in fact, the only major population center captured by the enemy.
▪️ The Russian Armed Forces are advancing in the Suja district from three flanks: on the western flank along the line Nikolayevo-Dar'ino - Pogrebki, on the northern flank along the line Pogrebki - Kruglik and on the eastern flank in the section Kruglik - Kurilovka. Since the beginning of January, Russian Armed Forces units have managed to expand the zone of control and repel attacks by the AFU in each of these areas.
▪️ However, the liberation of territories previously occupied by the enemy sometimes reveals terrible details of the occupation. This was the case, for example, in Russkoye Porechnoye, where the Russian Armed Forces servicemen who came there saw with their own eyes the consequences of the AFU's presence in the region: civilians killed with signs of torture and violence, as well as other cases of abuse.
▪️ Other high-profile events arising as a response to the successes of Russian troops are not without their consequences: on the evening of February 1, Ukrainian forces fired HIMARS MLRS at a boarding school in Suja, where civilians had been evacuated. After the attack, the AFU immediately announced the alleged involvement of the Russian side in the incident, but the footage that appeared on the web said otherwise.
So far there has been an operational pause at the site amid weather conditions: at the moment, the parties are pulling up reserves and preparing to intensify fighting when either spring frosts hit or the ground finally dries out. After that, Russian troops will resume the offensive, bringing closer and closer the final liberation of the entire Kursk region.
Nevertheless, after accomplishing this task, one should not relax - without occupying the nearby territories along the “old border” and destroying the military potential of the AFU, the threat of new attacks by Ukrainian formations will not pass away. Especially since the enemy is constantly ready to commit another provocation.

What is known as of 2:30 pm on February 6, 2025
Ukrainian formations continue attacks in the direction of Ulanka and Russkaya Konopelka.
🔻Footage is appearing online that allows determining the vectors of the enemy's movement.
▪️Based on footage from objective control, the enemy was able to pass through Cherkasska Konopelka completely, but two armored vehicles were hit by strikes from UAVs of the 177th Separate Reconnaissance Battalion on the road north of Fanaseevka.
▪️The information about the status of Fanaseevka itself is not yet unambiguous, but the loss of Cherkasska Konopelka by Russian troops is confirmed. The majority of footage is appearing from the roads right at this settlement.
▪️In addition, in Makhnovka, an IMR M1150 was hit by a drone strike, and another similar vehicle was attacked in an unspecified location.
▪️There are also already footage of strikes on Bergepanzer 2. And it is the use of scarce equipment, not the total number of armored vehicles, that indicates the rather serious plans of the Ukrainian command for these attacks.
▪️In addition, our sources confirm an attempt to advance a column of the AFU towards Russkaya Konopelka, but there are no details yet on this vector of the enemy's attack.

Last night, Ukrainian forces again tried to attack facilities on the territory of the Russian Federation. A total of 76 fixed-wing UAVs were destroyed in the skies over the Kursk, Oryol, Ryazan, Bryansk, Vladimir, Ivanovo and Tula regions. The situation on the Sumy axis continues to steadily worsen for the enemy. Russian forces are advancing both within the so-called Ukraine and along the Kursk border area.
Over the past week, Russian troops secured control of Zhuravka on the western flank and are now moving toward Belovodye. Meanwhile, to the east, assault units have approached the outskirts of Gornal and engaged in direct clashes.
🔻 Detailed timeline of the fighting:
▪️On the northern flank, Russian units expelled the enemy from Zhuravka and adjacent forest belts after a week of heavy fighting.
On the same day, troops from the 83rd Air Assault Brigade raised the VDV flag in the northern part of the village, confirming full control over the area.
▪️In the Kursk region, by April 13, Russian assault troops pushed the enemy from several positions in the Kholodny Yar ravine, advancing close to the Guevo–Sudzha highway.
They are now tasked with clearing the large forest area in the Glubokoye tract, where the enemy has established fortified positions.
▪️That same day, further south, Russian troops reached the northern outskirts of Gornal, located directly on the border.
Having advanced through the previously cleared Velikoye tract, assault units engaged in battle for the Nikolsky Belogorsky Monastery.
▪️By the evening of April 16, after three days of artillery and drone strikes on enemy positions, units of the 40th Arctic Brigade entered the monastery grounds.
▪️The nearby Fagor Hill, a tactically important elevation for the liberation of the village, is currently in the “gray zone.” The enemy has retreated to the northern forest, where reserves are being amassed for a potential counterattack.
📌Ukrainian forces, in their attempt to halt the Russian advance both in Sumy and the occupied area of the Kursk region, are forced to spread out their reserves.
This prevents the AFU from concentrating enough resources for major counteroffensives or redeploying to more critical operational fronts.

Yesterday, the Russian forces completed the liberation of the Kursk Region from Ukrainian formations. The last liberated settlement was Gornal, where the eponymous monastery is located, which became one of the last strongholds of the enemy's defense.
Thus, a rather dramatic page in the history of the Kursk Region was completed, although the last meters to the state border still need to be swept and cleared. And then the enemy will have to be pushed deeper into the Sumy Region.
Moreover, a security zone will be needed regardless of the outcome of the negotiations between the US and Russia, since the so-called Ukraine will remain a collective monkey with a grenade and will not stop trying to strike at Russian territory.
Combat operations on the border are far from over, and the enemy is still prowling the border area. Ukrainian formations have not abandoned their invasion plans, and vigilance must not be lowered.

In the run-up to Victory Day celebrations, Ukrainian formations mounted another attempt to breach the state border in Kursk Region, this time in Hlushkivskyi district.
Concentrating personnel near the border of Sums’kyi district, the AFU tried to break through in the areas of the villages of Tetkino and Novyi Shliakh, but failed, losing several dozen armored vehicles.
🔻 Chronology of the Fighting on the Sector:▪️ May 5: Ukrainian formations advanced from Ryzhivka toward Tetkino, simultaneously attacking Russian positions from the direction of Iskriskivshchyna. In the latter area, AFU engineering vehicles and assault groups were halted by Russian counter-battery artillery fire and UAV strikes.▪️ At the same time, the enemy massed forces north of Tetkino, occupying positions in the village of Otruba and the Hryadky tract on the right bank of the Seym River, but made no attempt to force the river crossing.▪️ May 6: AFU units began to engineer breaches through the “dragon’s teeth” fortifications on the approaches to Novyi Shliakh, but once again achieved no decisive success. Thanks to RF Armed Forces’ aerial reconnaissance assets, the Ukrainian vehicles on the move were detected and destroyed in advance.▪️ Currently, despite the declared three-day ceasefire, fighting continues in Tetkino around Chapayeva Street and Pogranychna Street. Moreover, according to some reports, elements of the Ukrainian formations are attempting attacks farther east, from the vicinity of Sums’ka Bessalivka.
