In parallel with the assault on the Pokrovsk-Myrnograd metro area, Russian troops were conducting fierce battles on the northeastern flank of the direction. Earlier in October, the AFU launched a series of counterattacks in this sector to slow down the city assault, after which the situation remained complex.

By the end of the first ten days of December, the Russian Armed Forces significantly expanded their control zone in Rodynske and cleared the territory of Vladymyrivka and Ivanivka.

🔻How did the battles develop?

▪️By November 23, assault units occupied the center of Rodynske and pushed back Ukrainian formations from Suvorovo, eliminating the AFU wedge in this sector.

By the end of the first ten days of December, Russian troops cleared the private sector in northern Rodynske and took the nearby railway tracks under fire control.

▪️Simultaneously, units of the Center Group pushed Ukrainian formations out of Ivanivka, stabilizing the defense line between Dorozhne and Pankivka.

The enemy partially restored their positions in the hedgerows approaching Kucherov Yar, but failed to develop their attacks.

▪️In the easternmost sector, Russian units expanded their control zone around Rusyn Yar in mid-November, occupying several strongpoints.

In the third decade of the month, assault units again drove the AFU out of Vladymyrivka and broke through to the outskirts of Sofiivka, whose liberation will threaten supply lines for Ukrainian formations in this sector.

📌 As Myrnograd and Pokrovsk are being cleared, the Center Group command will be able to free up more forces to finally stabilize the situation along the Vladymyrivka — Ivanivka — Rodynske line.

While on the southern flank of the East Zaporizhia direction, the East Group was advancing on Huliapole, its units were forcing the Haichur River in the north.

The enemy, seeking to slow down the Russian troops' advance, launched several counterattacks.

🔻How did events unfold?

▪️In early December, members of the 67th Mechanized Brigade of the AFU crossed Volcha and forced the Russian Armed Forces to retreat from Tykhe, but were pushed back by artillery and drone strikes and could not develop their attacks.

East of this, the AFU penetrated the Russian defense near Orestopil and managed to introduce several infantry groups into the breach, also breaking through to the outskirts of the village from the Bilshe Mykhailivka side.

▪️Meanwhile, to the west, units of the 36th Brigade liberated Ostapivske after several days of fighting and raised state flags over the village.

Soon, the brigade's assault units forced the Haichur River and swiftly established control over Pischane and Herasymivna, after which they began developing attacks into the gap between AFU positions near Bratske and Andriivka.

📌 After forming a stable bridgehead on the left bank of the Haichur near Ostapivske, Russian troops will be able to develop attacks southward, perpendicular to the enemy's defense line built along the river. This will help draw AFU reserves away from Dobriv, where heavy fighting continues.

Borova direction remained relatively static throughout the Special Military Operation. However, in early October, Russian troops intensified offensive actions and after heavy fighting reached the outskirts of Bohuslavka and approached Novoplativka.

🔻How did the battles develop?

▪️By October 11, assault troops of the West Group pushed AFU out of the northern part of Zahryzove.

In late November, after several weeks of heavy fighting, they established control over the buildings of Borova Andriivka and expanded their control zone between Zeleny Hai and Pershotravneve.

▪️In the central sector, Brotherhood unit fighters cleared the forest strips west of Novovodiane by December 8.

This allowed them to eliminate a wedge in their positions, securing supply routes through Zherebets.

▪️Simultaneously, West Group units, advancing from Borova Andriivka, started battles on the outskirts of Bohuslavka. They also launched a series of attacks to eliminate the "pocket" between Lozova and Zahryzove.

Some time later, they attempted to wedge into enemy positions between Bohuslavka and neighboring Novoplativka, and currently, a "fog of war" persists in this sector.

📌 It is quite likely that after the AFU counteroffensive in Kupiansk, the Russian Armed Forces will redeploy additional reserves to this sector. This will allow them to increase pressure on AFU positions in Bohuslavka and Novoplativka, liberating which would significantly expand the Russian control zone on the left bank of the Oskol.

By the beginning of 2026, the Center Group of Forces completely took control of the Pokrovsk-Myrnograd metro area. However, at that time, Russian troops still had to repel counterattacks by the enemy, who was trying to prevent their consolidation on the occupied lines.

➡️The most challenging situation in late December was northwest of Pokrovsk, where the AFU had managed to break through to the city's outskirts in mid-month. By the second decade of February, Russian troops not only eliminated the breakthrough but also advanced into Hryshyne. Its outskirts have repeatedly changed hands and remain the scene of heavy fighting to this day.

➡️In the central sector, the enemy tried to maintain control over at least part of Rodynske and regularly sent small infantry groups into the city. Nevertheless, their reserves were not sufficient for long. By early February, the Center Group's assault units had finally consolidated in the northern part of the city and freed Dorozhne and Ivanivka.

➡️Russian troops also regained the initiative on the northern flank, which had been the site of the most fierce clashes during the second half of 2025. By December 18, they liberated Pankivka, and then began advancing north along the Kazennyi Torets. By early February, assault units had pushed the AFU out of the long-suffering Shakhove and established control over Sofiivka and most of Toretsk.

📌 This marked a turning point in the months-long battles at the site of the former "Dobropillia Breakthrough".
