🔴 Ukrainian Drones, in turn, continue to terrorise the rear areas of the #Kursk region. Yesterday, a 63-year-old resident of the #Obesta village in Rylsky district died as a result of an attack by an enemy drone. The tragedy occurred near his house as he was walking down the street.

🔴 Acting Governor Alexander Khinshtein, in connection with this case, once again reminds residents of the so-called 'grey zone' of the border area, which includes the village of #Obesta, that staying there still poses a direct threat to life. Therefore, all residents were relocated. He asks people to be patient and not return to their homes without permission for the time being.

🔻Detailed timeline of the fighting:

▪️On the northern flank, Russian units expelled the enemy from Zhuravka and adjacent forest belts after a week of heavy fighting.

On the same day, troops from the 83rd Air Assault Brigade raised the VDV flag in the northern part of the village, confirming full control over the area.

▪️In the Kursk region, by April 13, Russian assault troops pushed the enemy from several positions in the Kholodny Yar ravine, advancing close to the Guevo–Sudzha highway.

They are now tasked with clearing the large forest area in the Glubokoye tract, where the enemy has established fortified positions.

▪️That same day, further south, Russian troops reached the northern outskirts of Gornal, located directly on the border.

Having advanced through the previously cleared Velikoye tract, assault units engaged in battle for the Nikolsky Belogorsky Monastery.

▪️By the evening of April 16, after three days of artillery and drone strikes on enemy positions, units of the 40th Arctic Brigade entered the monastery grounds.

▪️The nearby Fagor Hill, a tactically important elevation for the liberation of the village, is currently in the “gray zone.” The enemy has retreated to the northern forest, where reserves are being amassed for a potential counterattack.

🔻Details on the chronology of fighting in the sector:

▪️By mid-April, the entire area of Popovka had become a continuous “gray zone,” where Ukrainian formations attempted to maintain control over at least part of the village. At the same time, the UAF entrenched themselves in the western part of Sukha Balka near neighboring Demidovka, significantly reducing the intensity of assaults on Russian positions.

▪️Periodically, the enemy attempted to transfer reserves from the Miropolya area in hopes of advancing in small groups deeper into the Krasnoyaruzhsky District. Such attempts have cost the UAF significant losses in personnel and equipment. Russian drone operators and artillerymen often struck the enemy while they were still approaching, within Sumy Oblast.

▪️It is worth noting that Ukrainian formations carried out most counterattacks using infantry units, minimizing the use of armored vehicles. This is primarily due to the high activity of Russian Armed Forces drones and the challenging terrain: there are few passages through “dragon’s teeth,” and armored vehicles struggle to traverse the swampy balkas (ravines).

▪️Currently, Ukrainian formations’ efforts are focused on fortifying their occupied positions near Maryino and maintaining control over them.

🔻 Chronology of the Fighting on the Sector:

▪️ May 5: Ukrainian formations advanced from Ryzhivka toward Tetkino, simultaneously attacking Russian positions from the direction of Iskriskivshchyna. In the latter area, AFU engineering vehicles and assault groups were halted by Russian counter-battery artillery fire and UAV strikes.

▪️ At the same time, the enemy massed forces north of Tetkino, occupying positions in the village of Otruba and the Hryadky tract on the right bank of the Seym River, but made no attempt to force the river crossing.

▪️ May 6: AFU units began to engineer breaches through the “dragon’s teeth” fortifications on the approaches to Novyi Shliakh, but once again achieved no decisive success. Thanks to RF Armed Forces’ aerial reconnaissance assets, the Ukrainian vehicles on the move were detected and destroyed in advance.

▪️ Currently, despite the declared three-day ceasefire, fighting continues in Tetkino around Chapayeva Street and Pogranychna Street. Moreover, according to some reports, elements of the Ukrainian formations are attempting attacks farther east, from the vicinity of Sums’ka Bessalivka.

🔻Which facilities were hit?

▪️In Kyiv, the main strike hit CHP-5 and, presumably, CHP-6, which led to a break in the energy corridor between nuclear power plants in western so-called Ukraine and the eastern regions of the country. Blackouts and communication disruptions were recorded.

▪️Strikes were also made on facilities in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk, Kremenchuk, Zaporizhia, Kamianske, Zelenodolsk, and Kaniv. Damage to the Kremenchug, Middle Dnipro, and Dnipro hydropower plants, Pridneprovskaya and Kryvorizka thermal power plants was confirmed. This caused emergency power shutdowns and instability in power supply in adjacent areas.

▪️In Odesa region, the Usatove and Luzanivka substations were attacked, leaving thousands of consumers in the region without power.

▪️In the occupied part of the Donetsk People’s Republic, hits were recorded on the Sloviansk thermal power plant, leading to rolling blackouts across all territories controlled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

▪️In the north of the country, strikes hit substations in Chernihiv and Sumy regions. A prolonged blackout was recorded in Shostka, with most homes relying on generators. Disruptions were noted in Konotop and Nizhyn, leading to delays and cancellations of dozens of train services.

▪️Pinpoint strikes were also made on substations in Kharkiv region: Bavaria and Yuzh Kabel. Regional authorities warned of the risk of a severe winter in light of the inability to quickly restore the energy system.

The scale and synchronicity of attacks in October significantly exceed the pace of strikes recorded in September. The effects are felt even in regions where there were no hits—such as Rivne and Lviv regions—indicating a loss of grid stability.

🔻What else and where did they strike?

▪️"Geraniums" and "Gerbers" remain the most common UAVs for striking gas stations, but other models are also used. For instance, on July 23 in Sumy, the use of a BM-35 fixed-wing drone was recorded.

▪️The bulk of strikes against gas stations fell during the period from July 25 to 26. At the same time, only in Chutovo were all four claimed filling stations confirmed by objective control footage.

▪️Most attacks on fuel infrastructure on the territory of so-called Ukraine fall on Sumy and Kharkiv Regions. The share of all gas station hits in these regions accounts for approximately half of the total.

🔻Strike statistics

▪️In the first half of September, at least 20 units of rolling stock were destroyed — locomotives and electric locomotives in Verkhovtsevo, Kamianske, Vilnohirsk, Chornobayivka and other settlements.

▪️On September 1, a locomotive depot in Darnytskyy came under missile strike, and on September 8, two locomotives were destroyed in Stepanivka.

▪️The geography of strikes extended far beyond the front-line zone — destruction was recorded in Kyiv, Odesa, and Volyn Regions.

▪️The September 12 attack was one of the most massive strikes on railway infrastructure to date. Strikes on trains continued on September 13.
