Gaza producer Marwan Al-Ghoul: “Jews are not Humans”
Already under fire for telling staff not to refer to Jerusalem as the Israeli capital and for criticizing its reporter’s tough questions about anti-Israel bias for Ta-Nehisi Coates, CBS has a more extensive problem of Jew-hatred, according to the Arabic department at the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting and Analysis.
Marwan Al-Ghoul, who has long covered the region, was “praised by the network last week for his ‘resolve’ in covering the conflict,” but the CBS Gaza-based producer,
CAMERA told JNS.
stated Jonah Cohen, communications director for CAMERA.
Al-Ghoul
CAMERA said.
According to Camera, the CBS producer’s Arabic posts include asking “Are Jews human like us?” and writing “America and Israel are about to go down, but when?”
“Al-Ghoul also praised violent acts, including the murders of Israeli civilians Ziv Hajbi and Kim Yehezkel-Levengrond, and he gave a thumbs-up to a post denying Jews’ humanity: “By no means do they count as human, these are monsters in a human body.”
Israeli Defense minister Galant briefly responded:
“you will join soon Yahya Sinwar to discuss this issue with him.”

Before the Peace:
Hezbollah Is Jonesing For Jews-Mass Killing
🔤 🔤 🔤 🔤 1️⃣
Hezbollah fired about 250 projectiles into Israel on Sunday, a day after an Israeli strike in the heart of the Lebanese capital killed more than 25 people.
The aerial attack was one of the largest Hezbollah has mounted against Israel since the Lebanese militant group started firing on Israel last year in solidarity with Hamas in Gaza.
It also coincided with a flurry of diplomacy aimed at halting the intensifying fighting in Lebanon.
More than 65 people were wounded in the attack on Saturday in Lebanon’s capital, Beirut.
As rescuers searched through the rubble, the death toll rose on Sunday to at least 29 people, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry.
Three Israeli defense officials said the strike was an attempt to assassinate a top Hezbollah military commander, Mohammad Haidar. One of the Israeli defense officials, who requested anonymity to discuss sensitive military operations, later said that Haidar was not killed.
On Sunday, waves of air raid sirens blared throughout much of Israel, including in the Tel Aviv area and the hilltop town of Safed.
Israel’s military said that around 250 projectiles — a term usually referring to rockets — had been launched as of the evening, and that some were intercepted by air defense systems.
Magen David Adom, an Israeli emergency rescue service, said it had treated at least six people with injuries. It also shared images of cars engulfed by fires in central Israel.
Hezbollah said it had fired several salvos of rockets at Israel on Sunday.
The militant group said that one of the salvos — which it said had targeted a military installation in Tel Aviv around 6:30 a.m. — was in response to Israel’s targeting of Beirut.
The Israeli military did not report an attack aimed at Tel Aviv around that time, and The New York Times was not able to independently verify the claim by Hezbollah.
The exchange of fire came as the Israeli military said it struck what it described as militant infrastructure next to a border crossing between Syria and Lebanon.
It also ordered the evacuation of five villages in southern Lebanon and for at least a dozen parts of the Dahiya, an area just south of Beirut known as a Hezbollah stronghold.
Late on Sunday, the Israeli military conducted a heavy barrage of airstrikes on the southern outskirts in the Dahiya, with fighter jets racing across the skies above the Lebanese capital and deafening explosions ringing out for miles.
In a statement on Sunday, the Israeli military said its air force conducted strikes on what it said were Hezbollah “command centers” in the area.
The Lebanese Health Ministry didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
Israel’s military has been intensifying operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon apparently in an attempt to put pressure on the militant group to reach a cease-fire deal.
As its troops push deeper into southern Lebanon, the Israeli military has been stepping up bombardment of the Dahiya, a cluster of neighborhoods on the southern outskirts of Beirut that are effectively governed by Hezbollah.

The terms for a cease-fire between Israel and Hezbollah appear to be taking shape, according to several regional and U.S. officials briefed on the diplomacy.
Despite a degree of cautious optimism, the officials warned that critical details around implementation and enforcement needed to be worked out and that disagreements could still scupper any deal.
Both Israel and Hezbollah have said they will keep fighting as the negotiations continue.
On Sunday, Lebanon’s military accused Israel of targeting one of its centers in the southern part of the country, killing a soldier and wounding 18 others, some seriously.
The Israeli military did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but it has said in the past that it was not operating against the Lebanese military — only Hezbollah.
Najib Mikati, Lebanon’s caretaker prime minister, said the deadly attack was
“a direct bloody message of rejection of the efforts to reach a cease-fire.”
Mikati met on Sunday in Beirut with Josep Borrell, the European Union’s top diplomat and a stalwart antisemite,
amid negotiations on a cease-fire.
Borrell warned that Lebanon was “on the brink of collapse” and told reporters that there was only one way forward:
“An immediate cease-fire and a full implementation of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701.”
The U.N. Security Council unanimously adopted
Resolution 1701 in August 2006 as part of a cease-fire that ended Israel’s last war with Lebanon. The resolution sought to create a buffer zone in southern Lebanon to prevent fighting between Israel and Hezbollah, but has failed to keep the peace.
“We must pressure the Israeli government and maintain the pressure on Hezbollah to accept”
a proposal for a cease-fire, Borrell said.
Ephrat Livni contributed reporting.
An earlier version of this article misstated where U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701 sought to create a buffer zone. It was in southern Lebanon, not southern Israel.

He Has Called For the Murder of Jews in the UK
The UK police has arrested a migrant from the Gaza Strip, Musab Abd al-Karim al-Gasas, also known as Abu Wadi, who in the past posted videos on social media where he calls for the murder of Jews and an armed struggle against Israel.
According to the Daily Mail, Abu Wadi belongs to one of the Palestinian terrorist groups. In a video posted in September 2024, he calls on Allah to completely destroy the Jews.
he says.
A resident of Khan Yunis left the sector before the Hamas attack on the Jewish state. Last week, he was detained on a boat with illegal immigrants that crossed the English Channel. He is expected to be charged with violating migration laws.
However, the opposition considers this insufficient. Its representatives claim that the detainee poses an immediate terrorist threat, not only to Jews, but also to British society as a whole. They also accuse the Government of not doing enough to combat illegal immigration.

Khamenei Said He Wants to Kill “Every Dirty Jew”
Iranian missiles have struck Israeli cities of Tel Aviv and Haifa, destroying homes and fuelling concerns among world leaders at this week’s G7 meeting that the conflict between the two regional enemies could lead to a broader Middle East war.
Israel’s Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency service said Monday that four people were pronounced dead after strikes at four sites in central Israel, with 87 injured.
The dead were two women and two men, all approximately 70 years old, the MDA said.
Authorities in the central Israeli city of Petah Tikva near Tel Aviv said that Iranian missiles had hit a residential building there, charring concrete walls, blowing out windows and heavily damaging multiple apartments.
Search and location operations were under way in the northern port city of Haifa where about 30 people were wounded, emergency authorities said, as dozens of first responders rushed to the strike zones.
Fires were seen burning at a power plant near the port, media reported.
Iranian state TV said the country fired at least 100 missiles at Israel, signalling that it had no intention of yielding to international calls for de-escalation as it pressed on with its retaliation for Israel’s surprise attack on Tehran’s nuclear program and military leadership on Friday.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claimed the latest attack employed a new method that caused Israel’s multi-layered defence systems to target each other.
The Guardian was unable to verify this claim. The Israeli military did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the strikes.
Israeli officials have repeatedly said the defence system is not 100% infallible and warned of tough days ahead.
Israeli strikes on Iran on Sunday killed the intelligence chief of the country’s Revolutionary Guards, Mohammad Kazemi, along with two other officers, Iran’s IRNA state media news agency reported.
Late on Sunday the Israeli military said that it was striking surface-to-surface missile sites in Iran.
Smoke billows from a site in the city of Haifa on Monday after a fresh barrage of Iranian missiles.
Images from Tehran showed the night sky lit up by a huge blaze at a fuel depot after Israel began strikes against Iran’s oil and gas sector – raising the stakes for the global economy and the functioning of the Iranian state.
At least 14 people in Israel, including children, were killed in earlier strikes in the lead-up to Monday’s attacks, according to authorities.
The death toll in Iran had reached at least 224, with 90% of the casualties reported to be civilians, an Iranian health ministry spokesperson said.

Germany Is Going to Protect Its Jews, Nobody is Safe
Germany said Monday it was reinforcing security around Israeli and Jewish sites in its territory against possible reprisal attacks by Iran.
Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced to reporters before flying out to attend a G7 summit in Canada.
France has already ordered similar measures on its territory amid Israel’s operations against Iranian nuclear and military sites and the Islamic Republic’s retaliatory attacks.
Ahead of the summit on Sunday, Merz said he hoped an agreement could be reached between the G7 countries toward the resolution of the ongoing war between Israel and Iran.
He said he expected the Middle East conflict to be high on the agenda, laying out four points he hoped participating governments would be able to agree upon.
Earlier, Merz stressed that Iran must never obtain a nuclear weapon during a phone call with Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said.
German government spokesperson Stefan Kornelius wrote.
concluded the readout.
Oman confirmed Saturday that the planned sixth round of nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States in Muscat on Sunday would not take place following Israel’s surprise attack on Iranian nuclear and military sites.
The conflict between Iran and Israel won’t be the only subject discussed during the G7 summit, Merz said to reporters before boarding his plane. The chancellor said the war in Ukraine will also be discussed with a view of putting more pressure on Russia to bring it to the negotiating table.
To that end, he added, European leaders wanted to agree to new sanctions on Moscow at the end of this month.
According to the Tawhid, an Iranian opposition newspaper, Khamenei, who is now hiding in the family Bunker, offered $5,000 to everyone for a Jew killed all over the world.

MI6 Will Be Run by the Granddaughter of a Stalwart Nazi 🕵️♀️⚠️
MI6 has cast distance between its new chief and her grandfather, who was this week revealed to have been a Nazi spy known as "the butcher" 🩸.
Blaise Metreweli was announced as the incoming head of the Secret Intelligence Service earlier this month. She will be its first female “C” in its 116-year history 👩✈️📜.
With little known about her wider backstory, documents show that her grandfather was Constantine Dobrowolski, who defected from Soviet Russia's Red Army to become the Nazis' chief informant in Chernihiv, Ukraine 🇷🇺➡️🇩🇪.
However, the Foreign Office, which speaks on behalf of MI6, said Ms Metreweli "neither knew nor met her paternal grandfather 🧬❌".
The Daily Mail 🗞, which first revealed the family link, reports that it found hundreds of pages of documents 📄📚 in an archive in Freiburg, Germany, which showed Dobrowolski was known as "The Butcher" or "Agent No 30" by Wehrmacht commanders ⚰️☠️.
He reportedly signed off letters to his Nazi superiors with "Heil Hitler 🫡🇩🇪" and said he "personally" took part in "the extermination of the Jews ✡️🔥".
The archive documents are said to suggest Dobrowolski looted the bodies 💀🪙 of Holocaust victims, was involved in the murdering of local Jews, and laughed while watching the sexual assault of female prisoners ⚠️🚫.
BBC News has seen evidence to suggest that Mr Dobrowolski was on a most wanted list 🕵️♂️📜 drawn up by the KGB in 1969, which appears to detail his earlier work and suggests he may have still been alive by the 1960s.

Antisemitism is being measured at levels not seen since before the Holocaust, according to new 2025 data that show both the scale and normalization of attacks on Jews worldwide.
Record spike in incidents
From January 1 to November 30, 2025, there were 6,333 documented antisemitic incidents worldwide, a 7.5% rise over the 5,891 cases recorded in the same period in 2024.
In November 2025 alone, 548 incidents were recorded — 18.3 per day — a 21.2% increase over November 2024, despite a formal ceasefire in the Israel–Hamas war.
Israel-linked hatred and violent acts
About 66.4% of November’s cases (364 out of 548) were related to Israel, showing how anti-Zionist rhetoric is repeatedly spilling over into attacks on Jews and Jewish institutions.
Of those incidents in November, 91 (16.6%) involved vandalism such as swastikas and threats on synagogues and Jewish property, while 34 (6.2%) involved violence or threats, including assaults and bomb threats.
Hotspots: US and Germany
Germany saw 79 antisemitic incidents in November, up from 29 in October — a staggering 172.4% month-to-month jump.
The United States registered 174 incidents in November 2025, up from 164 a year earlier, with New York (39), California (19), Washington, D.C. (17), Massachusetts (15) and Illinois (9) leading.
Underreporting and fear
The Combat Antisemitism Movement notes that these figures only include cases reported to authorities, warning that fear, safety concerns and distrust of institutions mean the real number is likely significantly higher.
Jewish communities, especially since October 7, are facing a climate where many choose silence rather than risk becoming the next statistic.
“Pre‑Holocaust” warning
Sacha Roytman, CEO of the Combat Antisemitism Movement, says the 2025 total had already surpassed all of 2024 by November and argues antisemitism is now at its highest level since the pre-Holocaust era.
He calls this a global crisis requiring urgent action: education, tougher legislation, public advocacy and real enforcement so Jews do not have to choose between visibility and safety.

Pope Leo’s Latest Flip-Flopping: SSPX, Jews, Holocaust
🔠 🅰️ 🔠 🔠 1️⃣
A far-right Catholic sect’s plan to ordain its own bishops on the first day of July has placed it on a collision course with the Vatican – posing a possible crisis for Pope Leo a little over a year into his papacy, and straining the Roman Catholic church’s already fraught relationship with rightwing and traditionalist Catholics in the US and elsewhere.
Founded in Switzerland in 1970 to oppose liberalizing reforms in the Catholic church, the Society of St Pius X (SSPX) has gained significant followings in the US, France, Argentina and other countries.
The order, which has a large base of operations in Kansas, claims that more than half a million people worldwide attend its masses, though these numbers are difficult to verify.
It counts nearly 1,500 priests, seminarians and other vocational members among its members.
Pope Leo told journalists in Rome last week that he was “considering making another appeal to say: ‘Do not do this, let us try to live in communion within the church.’” But it was the SSPX’s “choice”, he said, whether to continue on a trajectory that threatens schism.
“If they make that choice,” Leo added, “I am sorry, but we must move forward.”
The SSPX maintains that its planned ordinations of four new bishops – two French, one Swiss and one American – are made from practical necessity and “do not proceed from any desire to claim a power of jurisdiction or to establish a parallel authority within the Church”.
The relationship has seen decades of standoffs, stalled negotiations and failed attempts at reconciliation.
The first and last time that the SSPX ordained bishops, in 1988, the Holy See excommunicated those who participated, including the SSPX’s founder.
In 2009, the conservative Pope Benedict agreed to lift those excommunications as a gesture of goodwill. He also granted greater permission for the use of the Latin mass, which traditionalist Catholics favor but has been largely replaced by vernacular liturgy.
Benedict’s more liberal successor, Pope Francis, abolished a commission set up three decades earlier to negotiate with the SSPX, though he also made the unusual decision to recognize the order’s sacraments as valid for the purposes of marriage and confession.
The SSPX exclusively practices the Latin mass. The order also advocates strict gender roles. Women are discouraged from wearing trousers, and often wear head coverings to church.
Yet the sect’s contentions with the Vatican are more fundamental, Massimo Faggioli, a professor of theology at Trinity College Dublin, said, and difficult to resolve or accommodate.

The SSPX rejects doctrines of reform, formulated during the 1962-1965 second Vatican council, that are core to the modern Catholic church. “It’s not something that you can solve by saying: ‘OK, you can celebrate mass in Latin,’” Faggioli said.
The second Vatican council promoted unity between Christian churches, acknowledged a universal freedom of religion, argued that the teachings of other world religions could “reflect a ray of truth”, condemned antisemitism and disavowed the notion that Jews bore collective responsibility for the death of Jesus Christ.
The SSPX believes that the council’s reforms were essentially heretical, Faggioli said, and has not given any sign that it will shift position. If the Vatican excommunicates the SSPX, he said, the big question is how conservative Catholics who are not in the order, but are sympathetic to some of its views, react to the schism.
The mounting tension between the Vatican and the SSPX comes as rightwing Catholics have shown an increasing willingness to tussle with the Vatican over political and theological disagreements.
Some Catholics in the US, where the most influential lay members tend to be both conservative and wealthy, have supported the Trump administration even as its stances on immigration and foreign policy clash with those of the Vatican.
The founder of the SSPX, Marcel Lefebvre, was a French royalist who was fiercely opposed to communism, decolonization and secularism. Lefebvre was one of a small percentage of bishops who voted against key documents of the second Vatican council. He died in 1991.
The sect has been dogged throughout its history by accusations of antisemitism and ties to the extreme right.
The Nazi collaborator and convicted war criminal Paul Touvier was arrested at an SSPX priory in France in 1989.
In 2009, an SSPX bishop told the press that he believed that no more than 300,000 Jews were killed in the Holocaust.
In 2013, the SSPX sparked outrage in Italy by officiating a funeral for a convicted Nazi war criminal, Erich Priebke, who had been denied burial by the Catholic diocese of Rome.
The SSPX has said that it “completely rejects the false claim that it teaches or practices antisemitism, which is a racial hatred of the Jewish people because of their ethnicity, culture or religious beliefs”.

🇮🇱 From The Apprentice to Jerusalem: How Jewish New York Helped Shape Trump
🔤 🔤 🔤 🔤 1️⃣
To understand Trump’s relationship with Jewish America and Israel, it is tempting to begin with the White House — with the embassy in Jerusalem, Jared Kushner, the Abraham Accords, or Trump’s unusually close relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
But the story actually begins much earlier. It begins in New York, in the worlds of real estate, television, law and deal-making that shaped Trump long before he entered politics. And one of the most revealing places to start is television.
In 2004, Trump became the star of The Apprentice, the reality show that transformed him from a famous New York developer into a national celebrity.
The program did more than put Trump on television. It created a political persona before Trump was even a politician: the powerful businessman, the ruthless negotiator, the billionaire who supposedly knew how to recognize talent, punish failure and make decisions without hesitation. His signature phrase — “You’re fired” — became part of American popular culture.
The show was created by British television producer Mark Burnett, but its success depended on something Trump had already spent decades cultivating: his image as the ultimate New York deal-maker.
The Apprentice turned that image into a mass-market product. Millions of Americans who knew little about Trump’s actual business career suddenly knew his face, his voice and his mythology.
Years later, political analysts would point to the show as one of the most important pieces of infrastructure behind Trump’s political rise. Before he had a political movement, he had an audience. Before he had a campaign organization, he had a recognizable character.
Television had already done much of the work of introducing “Donald Trump” as a national political brand. There was also a revealing Jewish connection to the television chapter.
During negotiations over his Apprentice contract, Trump reportedly wondered whether he needed a Jewish agent because he believed a Jewish representative might be better at negotiating the deal.
The anecdote, reported by The New York Times and the Jewish Telegraphic Agency in 2016, is striking less as evidence of some hidden influence than as a window into Trump's own understanding of New York’s business culture.
Trump had spent his entire adult life in a city where Jewish lawyers, bankers, developers, agents, media executives and entrepreneurs were an important part of the professional networks surrounding real estate and entertainment. He understood that network as a source of power. But television was only one part of the story.
Perhaps the most consequential Jewish figure in Trump's early career was Roy Cohn.
Cohn was a powerful New York lawyer, political operator and one of the city's most controversial public figures. He had worked as a prosecutor in the Julius and Ethel Rosenberg case, became a close associate of Senator Joseph McCarthy, and eventually established himself as a formidable fixer in New York’s legal and political worlds.
Trump met Cohn in the 1970s, when the young real-estate developer was facing battles with New York authorities over alleged discriminatory practices in his apartment buildings.
Cohn became Trump's lawyer and, over the following years, much more than that. He became a mentor. The lessons Trump absorbed from Cohn were not primarily about Judaism or Israel. They were about power.
Cohn's philosophy was famously combative: never concede weakness, attack opponents aggressively, use the media, and turn legal or political pressure into a public relations battle. Trump adopted many of these habits and carried them with him for decades.

The style that would later define his presidential campaigns — personal attacks, relentless media engagement, refusal to apologize and an instinct to treat politics as combat — has often been traced back to the world of Roy Cohn.
That relationship is crucial because it demonstrates the difference between “Jewish influence” and an ethnic or religious conspiracy.
Cohn was one individual. He was Jewish, but the influence he exercised over Trump came from his personality, his profession, his connections and his political experience — not from representing Jewish people as a group.
The same distinction becomes essential when we look at Trump’s later relationship with Israel.
Trump did not suddenly discover Israel after becoming president. His connections to Jewish Americans and to the Israeli-American political world had been developing for decades. His daughter Ivanka converted to Judaism before marrying Jared Kushner, a member of a prominent Orthodox Jewish real-estate family.
Kushner eventually became one of the most powerful figures in Trump's political orbit. During the first Trump administration, he served as a senior White House adviser and became deeply involved in Middle East diplomacy. His role was particularly significant because he was not merely a symbolic Jewish connection to the president.
He was part of Trump's inner circle and had direct access to the president on some of the most consequential foreign-policy questions facing the administration.
Through Kushner, Trump's personal and political worlds became even more intertwined with American Jewish institutions, donors and Israel-related policy circles. Then there was David Friedman.
Friedman was a bankruptcy lawyer, a longtime friend of Trump and another figure from the New York legal world.
Unlike many traditional American diplomats, Friedman was an outspoken supporter of Israel's settlement movement and maintained close ties to Israeli leaders and right-wing political circles. Trump appointed him U.S. ambassador to Israel.
Jason Greenblatt, another Orthodox Jewish lawyer who had worked for the Trump Organization, also became a central figure in the administration's Middle East policy. Together with Kushner and Friedman, he helped develop the administration's approach to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The policy consequences were enormous. In 2017, Trump announced that the United States recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital and would move the American embassy there. The embassy officially opened in Jerusalem in 2018.
The administration also recognized Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights in 2019, a dramatic break with longstanding American policy. And in 2018, Trump withdrew the United States from the Iran nuclear agreement, taking a position strongly favored by Netanyahu's government and many American supporters of a more confrontational policy toward Tehran.
Then came the Abraham Accords. In 2020, the Trump administration helped broker agreements that normalized relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, followed by normalization moves involving Morocco and Sudan.
The agreements represented one of the most significant diplomatic achievements of Trump's first term in the Middle East.
None of this can be explained simply by saying that “Jewish advisers influenced Trump.”
Trump himself had strong political instincts about Israel. Evangelical Christians were a major part of his electoral coalition and among the strongest supporters of his pro-Israel policies. Republican donors and activists also played an important role.
Netanyahu's government had its own strategic interests. And Trump increasingly saw confrontation with Iran as central to his Middle East worldview.

The Jewish influence was therefore neither singular nor uniform.
American Jews themselves are politically diverse. Many are liberal Democrats and have been deeply critical of Trump. Others are conservative Republicans and some became enthusiastic supporters of his Israel policies.
Orthodox Jewish communities, evangelical Christians, pro-Israel organizations, wealthy donors, Republican strategists and Israeli officials all interacted with the Trump administration in different ways.
That diversity is precisely why the story is more interesting than a simple claim about “Jewish influence.” What we see instead is a series of relationships.
A Jewish New York lawyer, Roy Cohn, helped teach a young Trump how to fight and how to use publicity as a weapon.
A television industry turned that New York persona into a national brand.
Trump's daughter entered an Orthodox Jewish family through her marriage to Jared Kushner, bringing one of America's most prominent Jewish real-estate families into the president's immediate family circle. Kushner became a senior political adviser.
Friedman and Greenblatt brought their own views, networks and experience into Trump's foreign-policy operation.
And the resulting administration made decisions on Jerusalem, the Golan Heights, Iran and Arab-Israeli normalization that fundamentally changed American Middle East policy.
There is another dimension to this story as well: Trump's own understanding of Jewish success.
Throughout his career, Trump repeatedly operated in environments where he encountered successful Jewish businessmen, lawyers, media executives and political figures. Sometimes his comments about Jews were crude or stereotypical; sometimes they were admiring; often they reflected the transactional worldview through which he understood almost every relationship.
Trump tends to see politics through people rather than institutions — who is loyal, who is useful, who has access, who can negotiate, who can deliver. In that sense, the individuals around him mattered enormously. Personal relationships often became channels through which policy was shaped.
And that may be the most important point. The history of Trump's relationship with Jewish America is not the history of a president being controlled by “the Jews.” There is no evidence for such a collective explanation, and it reduces a complicated political history to an ethnic stereotype.
The real story is more concrete — and arguably more fascinating.
For decades, Trump moved through a particular New York ecosystem of lawyers, developers, financiers, entertainers and media figures. Some of the people who became important to him were Jewish. Some were not. What mattered was not their ethnicity alone, but their individual influence, access, expertise and ability to operate inside the worlds Trump trusted.
By the time he reached the White House, many of those relationships had evolved into a political network.
The journey from Roy Cohn's Manhattan office to the Oval Office, from The Apprentice to Jerusalem, was not a straight line. But it reveals something fundamental about Trump: his politics did not emerge from nowhere in 2016. They were built over decades, in the institutions and relationships of New York — and some of the most consequential figures along that path were Jewish.
Trump's relationship with Jewish America and Israel, in other words, did not begin in the White House.
It began much earlier — in the boardrooms, courtrooms, television studios and social networks of New York.
And by the time Trump arrived in Washington, those old relationships were already part of the architecture of his power.
