โ๐ก๏ธ Conversations for Inner Healing: Healing from Betrayal
โ1. Arjun: Someone I trusted deeply deceived me. I feel completely shattered, and worse, I feel foolish for having believed them.
โ Krishna: You feel foolish because you offered a pure heart to someone who did not know how to hold it. But understand this: your ability to trust is a sign of your beautiful character, just as their decision to betray is a reflection of theirs. Never be ashamed of having a good heart.
โ2. Arjun: I have decided I will never trust anyone ever again. It is too dangerous.
โ Krishna: To never trust again is to build a high, thick wall to keep the enemies out, only to realize you have locked yourself inside a prison. Yes, you will be safe from heartbreak, but you will also be starved of love, connection, and joy. You will survive, but you will stop living.
โ3. Arjun: How could they lie to me so easily when I gave them nothing but loyalty?
โ Krishna: People act from their own level of consciousness, and often from their own hidden pain or greed. Betrayal is an act of spiritual poverty. Do not waste your energy trying to decode their darkness. You cannot find logic in a diseased mind.
โ4. Arjun: How do I ever open up to someone new? What if they hurt me too?
โ Krishna: You are misunderstanding what trust actually is. Trust is not a guarantee that the other person will never hurt you. True trust is the quiet confidence that even if they hurt you, you will survive, heal, and rebuild. Your safety must come from your own resilience, not from their perfection.
โ5. Arjun: People say I need to forgive them to move on. But they don't deserve my forgiveness!
โ Krishna: Forgiveness is not a certificate of innocence for them; it is a declaration of independence for you. When you refuse to forgive, you remain tied to them by an invisible, heavy chain of anger. You forgive not because they deserve a pardon, but because you deserve absolute peace. Cut the chain.
โ6. Arjun: It feels so unfair that I am the one left with all this pain to heal.
โ Krishna: It is unfair. But holding onto the injustice will not cure the wound. A doctor does not ask who threw the stone before treating the injury; he simply cleans the wound. Take responsibility for your own healing, regardless of whose fault the injury was.
โ7. Arjun: What is the ultimate victory over betrayal?
โ Krishna: To not let the betrayer change who you are. The greatest tragedy of betrayal is when it turns a loving, open person into a bitter, closed one. Be cautious, be wise, but do not let the actions of one broken person turn your warm heart into stone. Keep your softness; it is your greatest strength.
โ๐ก A Small Tip
โThe "Clean Slate" Practice.
When you find yourself getting suspicious of a new person because of your past trauma, mentally pause and say:
"This person is not [Name of the Betrayer]. They have a different heart and a different history. I will not make them pay a debt they did not incur."
Treat your past as a lesson in red flags, not as a script for your future.

๐ Rice Fortification under PMGKAY โ Temporarily Discontinued (28 Feb 2026)
๐ Why in News?
โ Government temporarily stopped rice fortification under PMGKAY.
โ Study by Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur found that prolonged storage reduces the effective shelf life of fortified rice.
โก Factors affecting stability of Fortified Rice Kernels (FRK):
โข Moisture content
โข Temperature & relative humidity
โข Storage conditions
โข Packaging material
๐ About Food Fortification
๐ Definition
โ Deliberate addition of micronutrients (vitamins & minerals) to improve nutritional quality of food.
๐ Regulation & Initiatives
โ Governed by Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) โ Food Safety and Standards (Fortification of Foods) Regulations, 2018.
โ Implemented through Food Safety Net Programmes including:
โข PMGKAY
โข PM-POSHAN Scheme
๐ Fortified Foods in India
โข Rice & Wheat Flour โ Iron, Vitamin B12, Folic Acid
โข Milk & Edible Oil โ Vitamins A & D
โข Double Fortified Salt โ Iodine + Iron
๐ Policy Context
โ By March 2024, all custom-milled rice under PMGKAY and safety net programmes was replaced with Fortified Rice (FR) (planned till 2028).
๐ Significance of Fortification
โ Public Health
โข Tackles micronutrient deficiencies:
โ Iron โ Anaemia
โ Vitamin A โ Night Blindness
โ Iodine โ Goitre
โ Folic Acid โ Birth defects
โ Economic Benefit
โข As per Copenhagen Consensus, โน1 spent on fortification yields ~โน9 in economic returns.
๐ Key Issue Highlighted
โ Nutrient degradation due to improper storage undermines intended nutritional outcomes.
โ Highlights need for better storage, logistics & quality control mechanisms.
๐ UPSC Prelims Focus
โข FSSAI Fortification Regulations โ 2018
โข Nutrients added in fortified rice
โข Linked scheme โ PMGKAY
๐ UPSC Mains Angle (GS2 โ Health / GS3 โ Food Security)
โFood fortification is a cost-effective strategy to address hidden hunger. Examine challenges in its implementation under large-scale food distribution schemes.โ
