Delhi High Court stays JNU order dismissing professor and Congress MP Akoijam from services

The Delhi High Court on Monday (November 2, 2026) stayed the Jawaharlal Nehru University’s (JNU) decision to terminate the services of Congress MP and professor Angomcha Bimol Akoijam over allegations of sexual harassment.

Justice Anup Jairam Bhambhani passed an interim order while hearing a petition filed by Mr. Akoijam challenging his dismissal. The court also issued notice to the university and listed the matter for further hearing in January 2027.

RBI Relaxes EDF Compliance for Service Exporters and Freelancers!

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has amended the FEMA (Export and Import of Goods and Services) Regulations, 2026, providing significant relief in Export Declaration Form (EDF) compliance.

Effective 1 October 2026, resident individuals exporting services are deemed to have submitted the EDF upon providing the requisite payment-related information to their Authorised Dealer (AD) bank.

Further, exporters other than resident individuals can avail simplified reporting for inward remittances up to ₹10 lakh per transaction.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has notified the Bharatiya Vayuyan Niyam, 2026 under the Bharatiya Vayuyan Adhiniyam, 2024. The rules come into force on 1 January 2027. They replace the Aircraft Rules, 1937 .

🔹Airlines must submit their fares to DGCA and publish them online.

🔹Ticket prices must clearly show the base fare, taxes, fees, cancellation charges and refund conditions.

🔹The Centre can direct airlines to take action during extraordinary situations in the public interest.

🔹DGCA will monitor airfares, but its explicit power to act against excessive or predatory pricing has been removed.

🔹Airlines can set their own ticket prices, with no routine government approval or general cap on airfares.
