Bayern Munich II shut out by Erzgebirge Aue in friendly
Bayern Muenchen II v MSV Duisburg - 3. Liga Photo by Roland Krivec/DeFodi Images via Getty ImagesThe Bayern Reserves have fallen in their second friendly of the summer.Bayern Munich II lost a friendly on Saturday against 2.Bundesliga side Erzgebirge Aue. The 0-3 result will be disappointing for manager Holger Seitz in his first game back in charge, but the young Bavarians have another couple of friendlies as prep before the new 3.Liga season begins.Seitz will be pleased that it took until he made multiple changes at halftime before Aue was able to crack the Bayern net. Philipp Zulechner, Calogero Rizzuto, and Sascha Härtel all scored in the second half for Aue.Die neue Nummer der #FCBAmateure: Timo #Kern!#MiaSanMia pic.twitter.com/1tmwjTevqI— FC Bayern Campus (@FCBjuniorteam) August 30, 2020In other news, the club has decided that with the departure of Otschi Wreidt to Willem II in the Eredivisie, the Bayern II #10 shirt will go to midfielder Timo Kern.We are, however, seeing what the Bayern II coaching staff feels is their strongest starting lineup following the summer departures. It’s an eleven that skews younger than last season, but there’s enough — ‘veteran’ isn’t the right word — seasoned experience in the side that should help the younger players promoted up from the club’s U-19 side continue to adjust to the higher level.Bayern XI: Hoffmann (46. Wagner) - Yilmaz, Feldhahn, Lawrence, Waidner (46. Brückner) - Stiller (46. Booth), Welzmüller (46. Scott), Zaiser (77. Mihaljevic), Kern (46. Rochelt) - Karatas, Dajaku (46. Jastremski)Bayern II will begin 3.Liga play against Türkgücü Munich on September 19. Still, there are a few friendlies to play before then. On Friday September 4th, they will play Red Bull Salzburg. Then, in their final friendly of the summer, Bayern II will play Unterhaching on September 11th.View this post on InstagramMit 3:0 gewinnen die Veilchen ihr Testspiel gegen die 2. Bayern Muenchen II v FC Ingolstadt - 3. LigaPhoto by Roland Krivec/DeFodi Images via Getty ImagesIn a battle of teams fighting against relegation, the spoils are shared.Bayern Munich II had targeted the match against Duisburg as a big three points, but the young Bavarians had to settle for only one on the day following a 1-1 draw with Duisburg. The match between two of the many sides fighting relegation at the moment didn’t go the way either side wanted, but both will be pleased they got at least one point out of it.Captain Timo Kern drew a penalty on Duisburg goalkeeper Moritz Stoppelkamp in the 39th minute. Then, the Bavarian captain stepped up to the spot and scored the penalty to give Bayern II the 1-0Fortunately for Stoppelkamp, he would be directly involved in the Duisburg equalizer. Vincent Vermeij gathered the goalkeeper’s long ball and beat Ron-Thorben Hoffmann to break Bayern II hearts in the 65th minute.Er schlägt schon wieder zu: #Kern mit seinem 7⃣. Saisontor! Dajaku), Scott (46. Kühn), Kern - Jastremski (83. Arp)The point keeps Bayern II just outside of the relegation zone at the moment. They have 16 points, while Zwickau, Kaiserslautern, and Duisburg all have 15. To give you an idea of how tight the 3.Liga table is at the moment, 11th place and 20th place are only separated by 5 points.Bayern II have one more game before the winter break. On Saturday December 19, Bayern II will hop on the Munich S-Bahn for a trip just down the road to Unterhaching. After that game, Bayern II won’t take the field again until January 9, in a good old Munich Derby against 1860.⚖ Punkteteilung am Mittwochabend. #FCBMSV

FC Magdeburg - 3. Timo Kern’s curling effort from the top of the penalty area, found it’s way inside the post to put Bayern II up 1-0. Bayern II kept getting opportunities, but they couldn’t find a second early goal. Then, David Remiger equalized when a free kick got through the box missing everybody. He put his shot into the top of the net, leveling the match at 1-1.Bayern II kept pushing for a winner, but a second yellow and sending off for Kern in the 70th minute made things a lot more difficult. Still, Bayern II nearly found the winner after some brilliant work in the box from Gabriel Vidovic nearly found Lucas Copado, but the two 17-year-olds couldn’t come together for the winner.See the full match highlights here.: #FCBAmateure FC Memmingen
