In Edmonton, Alberta, #Canada 🇨🇦 there's the Purple City Fest, held in multiple downtown venues.
The name Purple City comes from a ritualistic tradition of the local youth culture: they visit the Alberta Legislature Building at night to stare into the floodlights. After about a minute of exposure, the light makes all the surroundings appear purple 😈

30 years ago R.E.M. from Athens, #USA released their 10th studio album.
This is #REM final album with drummer and founding member Bill Berry who left in 1997.
Many of the tracks were recorded live during their 1995 American tour.
R.E.M. have always considered this album as the peak of their career... and probably it is!
