🎼3 May 1951. Happy 70th Birthday 🥳🍾 to Christopher Cross, born Christopher Charles Geppert in San Antonio, Texas, USA.
This is perhaps why he was so eager to "make it to the border of Mexico"! 😉 He is in fact the original author of the song Ride Like The Wind I posted for this morning's Monday Recharger☝️
His debut album of 1979, sold millions of copies, won 4 Grammy Awards and reached the 🔝 in US Charts: it is still today considered one of the best soft rock albums of all time.
Originally #ChristopherCross played in a Deep Purple cover band, and when at some point in the 70s the true #DeepPurple came to play in Texas, their #guitarist Richie Blackmore fell ill some hours before the concert and Christopher substituded him for that night 😳🎸👏
I guess it was then, that he realized he could really "make it to the borders of... success"!!! 👍🏻🔝
I post in the Chat Room👇 his most famous songs and the original version of my favorite one which is, as you probably understood, Ride Like the Wind 😃 #3May

Banco del Mutuo Soccorso
📀 Banco del Mutuo Soccorso
#ProgressiveRock #RPI

50 years ago Banco del Mutuo Soccorso from Rome, #Italy released their eponymous debut album.
Banco del Mutuo Soccorso along with the following Darwin of the same year 1972 is considered a milestone work of Rock Progressivo Italiano (RPI) and the band became soon internationally known and appreciated, though their singing only in Italian.

The distinctive vocals of charismatic frontman Francesco Di Giacomo (passed away in 2014) and the sound which was generally heavier compared to the fellow RPI bands instantly became the trademark of #BancodelMutuoSoccorso.

In this album:
Vittorio Nocenzi – Organ, Harpsichord, clarino, vocals
Gianni Nocenzi – Piano, E-flat clarinet, vocals
Marcello Todaro – Electric guitar, acoustic guitar, vocals
Renato D'Angelo – Bass
Pier Luigi Calderoni – drums
#FrancescoDiGiacomo – Lead vocals

Queensrÿche
📀 Operation: Mindcrime
#HeavyMetal #ProgressiveMetal

35 years ago Queensrÿche from Bellevue, #USA, released their 3rd studio album.

A concept album inspired to frontman Geoff Tate by some Quebec separatists he met while on tour, Operation: Mindcrime (my vinyl copy is in #VeniceRocksRoom☝️) is widely considered the best album in #Queensryche career.
When performing live in its entirety, Queensrÿche made use of a proper theatre cast to embody the various characters involved in the concept.

O.M. was also a great commercial success,
a sequel entitled Operation: Mindcrime II was released in 2006, with Ronnie James Dio taking over the role of Dr. X.

Masterpiece!

In this album:
#GeoffTate – vocals, keyboards
#MichaelWilton – guitar
#ChrisDeGarmo – guitar, synthesizer, backing vocals
#EddieJackson – bass, backing vocals
#ScottRockenfield – drums, keyboards
#PamelaMoore – vocals as Sister Mary

Happy 70th birthday to #TimCappello, born in New York of #Sicily origins.
He became a legend in 1987 (at least for us who went to the cinema) for his oiled up bare chest performace in the cult vampire 🧛‍♂ comedy horror The Lost Boys.
After that he became #TinaTurner live saxophonist and sexy stage partner 😁
