He will always have an indelible liason with Venice, due to the (in)famous Pink Floyd free concert in front of St. Mark in 1989 and being accused by the police to have destroyed the city... after the City called them to play π
I will write about this on July 15 (the anniversary), but to give an idea of the substance of the man I will share this video of him in Venice when he came for his solo concert in 2006...
