๐ผ6 March 1946. Happy Birthday ๐ค๐ฅณ๐พ to Mr. David Gilmour, born in Cambridge, England. He doesn't need much presentation, he is one of the few guitarist anyone can tell immediately after 1 note... it's him ! ๐ธ๐
He will always have an indelible liason with Venice, due to the (in)famous Pink Floyd free concert in front of St. Mark in 1989 and being accused by the police to have destroyed the city... after the City called them to play ๐
I will write about this on July 15 (the anniversary), but to give an idea of the substance of the man I will share this video of him in Venice when he came for his solo concert in 2006...

๐ผ27 January 1944. Happy Birthday ๐ฅณ๐พ to the one and only member of Pink Floyd who stayed forever in the band and played on every album... and perhaps he's not the one you think about ๐

50 years ago Pink Floyd from London, #UK released their 8th studio album.
A concept developed in previous years, produced by #PinkFloyd under the supervision of #ChrisThomas and #AlanParsons, the album was an immediate success, marking their worldwide breakthrough and becoming the highest selling record of all 1970s. It remained in US charts until 1988, the longest permanence ever!
Lirycal themes include conflict, greed, consumerism, time passing, death, insanity, the latter inspired by former band mate #SydBarrett mental state.
The album contains #MusiqueConcrete elements and the heavenly wordless vocals on "The Great Gig in the Sky" by #ClareTorry (brought in by Parsons).
#DavidGilmour โ vocals, guitars, Synth
#NickMason โ drums, percussion

Happy 75th Birthday to Patty Pravo from Venice!
One of the most famous female singers in #Italy, not really a Rock one but... this lady has truly something to tell about her life!
She moved to #Rome aged 17 and she became the queen of the Piper, the most important music venue at the time.
She witnessed the entire evolution of Italian Beat into Italian Prog Rock thanks to her liasons with artists of the scene, she sang immortal Italian pop songs for 5 decades, she spent wild nights with unknown young musicians such as #PinkFloyd and #JimiHendrix in the 1960s, she ideally followed the route of ๐ Marco Polo when she became the most famous Italian singer in Asia, performing for the King of Jordan and the Shah Of Persia in the 1970s and for Chinese Tv in 1980s-90s with audiences exceeding 1 billion... yes, quite a life โค๏ธโ๐ฅ

Side B is a fantastic collection of live cover songs performed at a fan club concert on January 31, 1995, at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London.
