πΌ9 April 1994. Far Beyond Driven π album by Thrash Groove Metal ππ€ band Pantera goes straight to number 1 in US Charts. It's an important mark for the entire Heavy Metal scene because it's the first time ever that an album so "violent" and extreme peaks the Charts ! π₯πΈ
#Pantera at the time were at the π of their popularity and were a terrific live act. I can personnally confirm this, since I saw them live 5 times in the nineties π€πΉ
In the Chat RoomπI post the first single extracted from the album plus a photo of the Men! As always you can post your favorite song from that album if you have any π

ππΌππ9 April 1860. An anonymous passerby in Paris is singing on the street "Au Claire de La Lune" a French popular 18th century song. A guy who will then become an inventor is able to capture and record from his window the passerby's voice as a phonautogram on paper π³ (later in decades evolved in phonographs and grammophones thanks to further inventions).
We all love music and listening to it, don't we π? All the music we listen to is recorded, with so many different technologies... but recorded !
If today we can enjoy our favorite music, this is also partly due to that guy in Paris called Edouard-Leon Scott de Martinville, who on that #9April made the first known and oldest surviving recording of the human voice!!! π£ππ
Here's the remaster of that recording. I also post in the Chat Roomπthe entire popular song many of you will recognize and a #Litfiba (Italian best rock/new wave band in the 80s!) song I particularly love, Pierrot e La Luna, at the end of which you can hear the words of that 1860 recording:
"Au clair de la Lune
Mon ami Pierrot
PrΓͺte-moi ta plume
Pour Γ©crire un mot"

πΌ 9 April 1948.
Happy 75th Birthday to Patty Pravo from Venice!
One of the most famous female singers in #Italy, not really a Rock one but... this lady has truly something to tell about her life!
She moved to #Rome aged 17 and she became the queen of the Piper, the most important music venue at the time.
She witnessed the entire evolution of Italian Beat into Italian Prog Rock thanks to her liasons with artists of the scene, she sang immortal Italian pop songs for 5 decades, she spent wild nights with unknown young musicians such as #PinkFloyd and #JimiHendrix in the 1960s, she ideally followed the route of π Marco Polo when she became the most famous Italian singer in Asia, performing for the King of Jordan and the Shah Of Persia in the 1970s and for Chinese Tv in 1980s-90s with audiences exceeding 1 billion... yes, quite a life β€οΈβπ₯
