Rainbow
📀 Long Live Rock 'n' Roll
#HardRock #HeavyMetal
45 years ago Rainbow, formed between London #UK and Los Angeles #USA, by guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, released their 3rd studio album.
Long Live Rock 'n' Roll is #Rainbow last album to feature original vocalist R.J. DIO and was recorded, like many great albums in the 1970s, at The Strawberry Studio, Château d'Hérouville, France.
It's widely considered one of the best albums of the band and is also notable for the epic fail regarding the gatefold sleeve: as you can see in the picture☝️it was taken from a photo of a Rush concert and the "illustrators" simply reversed it and substituted the banner wordings 🙈
In this album:
#RonnieJamesDio – vocals
#RitchieBlackmore – guitar, bass
#CozyPowell – drums, percussion
#BobDaisley – bass
#DavidStone – keyboards, piano
#TonyCarey – keyboards
Additional musicians
Bavarian String Ensemble conducted by Rainer Pietsch
#8April
