🎼8 April 1692. Giuseppe Tartini, violinist and composer, was born in Pirano a small town in Istria peninsula, at the time part of the Republic of Venice, today part of Slovenia.
He's worldwide famous for his "Devil's Trill Sonata" (Il Trillo del Diavolo), inspired by the Devil himself! 😳
Tartini told his friend, the French astronomer Jérôme Lalande, that he had dreamed the devil who appeared to him and asked to be Tartini's servant and teacher. At the end of the music lesson, #Tartini handed the devil his violin to test his skill, which the devil began to play with virtuosity, delivering an intense and magnificent performance, this Sonata... doesn't this sound like a modern blues/rock/metal story? How many times we have heard that the Devil himself inspired musicians? 😈
In any case the Devil's Trill Sonata is absolutely crazy in its beauty! ❀️

🎼8 April 1962. Happy Birthday πŸ₯³πŸΎ to Mr. Izzy Stradlin, born Jeffrey Dean Isbell in Lafayette, Indiana, USA. #Guitarist, singer, songwriter, mostly known as co-founder (1985!) and member of Guns'n'Roses during their best and glorious years πŸ€ŸπŸŽΈπŸ”
He left the Guns in 1992 at the peak of their success and began a solo career, he re-joined the band only occasionally.
Here's a punky reggae track 😳😎 from his first solo album with the Ju Ju Hounds in 1992.
In the Chat Room πŸ‘‡ I post a couple of other songs I like, written and sung by Stradlin both solo and for #GNR... and of course you can post your favorite ones πŸ˜ƒ

40 years ago Toto from Los Angeles, #USA released their 4th studio album entitled Toto IV.
It's widely considered their masterpiece, for sure their most succesful and one of the Rock best sellers of the 80s decade!
Toto IV contains standards such as "Rosanna", "Africa", "I Won't Hold You Back" and it's the last album to feature vocalist Bobby Kimball who came back only in 1998.
#Toto did not embark in a promotional tour for this album because most of the band's members became soon involved in the production of #MichaelJackson Thriller!

Toto in this album were:
#BobbyKimball β€“ lead vocals, backing vocals

Rainbow
πŸ“€ Long Live Rock 'n' Roll
#HardRock #HeavyMetal

45 years ago Rainbow, formed between London #UK and Los Angeles #USA, by guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, released their 3rd studio album.

Long Live Rock 'n' Roll is #Rainbow last album to feature original vocalist R.J. DIO and was recorded, like many great albums in the 1970s, at The Strawberry Studio, ChΓ’teau d'HΓ©rouville, France.

It's widely considered one of the best albums of the band and is also notable for the epic fail regarding the gatefold sleeve: as you can see in the picture☝️it was taken from a photo of a Rush concert and the "illustrators" simply reversed it and substituted the banner wordings πŸ™ˆ

In this album:
#RonnieJamesDio – vocals
#RitchieBlackmore – guitar, bass
#CozyPowell – drums, percussion
#BobDaisley – bass
#DavidStone – keyboards, piano
#TonyCarey – keyboards

Additional musicians
Bavarian String Ensemble
conducted by Rainer Pietsch
